So I was a'runnin down the road trying to loosen my load... and then out of nowhere a bright orange light appeared on my dash! GRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrr... So I knew if I could make it just past Stockton on the 5... I would be able to reach flag city... well that is where this place is located. It's the second cheapest place there. However while being $.10 higher than the Arco it lets you use a credit card in lieu of being cash only. So yeah I am down for the price. It's also the second cheapest place I have come across in the last few months of driving. That definitely kicks some azzz. PRO TIP: They have clean bathrooms, showers, and a TV room! It is a truck stop after all! All of the standard C-Store items and then all of the standard Trucker stop items are here. As well as pizza, fried chicken, wings, mac n cheese, hot dogs, etc. They had free coffee on Christmas Eve as well! Also inside are a Denny's and a Subway. The subway doesn't honor coupons or the nationally advertised campaigns and has jacked up rates. =( There are also pumps that are covered or uncovered for gas/diesel. If the weather doesn't bother you then you should be able to fillerup quick n easy. They have lots of really soapy windshield washing water and new wipers/scrubbers to use as well. Definitely an important thing when on the road (especially for a long haul). Great stop and service. One stop shopping for the traveller. Been 8n here many times going to points north and south. Everything from a to z you can imagine for the needs on the road. Very well thought out store arrangement. Friendly and helpful staff. This is a high volume business and they do a great job of getting people fueled up and fed and on their way. There is a Subway at this location. You can get pizza, chicken, egg rolls, candy, rope, batteries.....the list goes on and on. Always a good experience in dealing with this place. Once in a while panhandlers are hanging around looking for freebies. I guess that goes along with any place like this. (Shrug) Thank you! read more

Sooo, never thought I'd rate a truck stop but the Flying J is our family's new favorite stop on the way to Lake Hogan! Super clean bathrooms with full doors that close and lock! Lots of snacks, travel items, drinks, clothing, as well as a Cinnabon and Subway inside plus a Denny's. From the hot case my kids love the pizza (2 ginormous slices for $5). Bonus! Very nice and friendly staff and a huge gas area with plenty of space to maneuver the truck and boat or RV. read more

This is a nice clean little oasis on the trip down I-5. They have clean bathrooms, a buffet place, pizza, fast food Asian, and the semi trucks don't use the same gas filling area. The gas prices are usually on the low end for this area of I-5. The gas pumps are SUPPOSEDLY one way, but all the impatient jerk drivers can't wait a 1/2 minute to pull forward, so they all pull in the wrong way. There are arrows... in bright yellow... can they not see them? The employees never enforce the one way only pumps, so I'm taking off a star for that. I'm taking off another star for all the costumers and employees who smoke right outside the entry door. Eww. read more

This FJ sucked! The bathrooms were closed with a sign to go to some other building C? Wtf...So I casually walked into the truckers lounge only and went to the 2 stall womens bathroom. The bathroom had NO Soap to wash your hands with and no towels. Everything was so expensive. I was going to buy a little milk but $2.00 for a pint? The Subway sucked in FJs too! I've stopped by here a couple of times to/from work because i needed to pick up some skoal. Prices are a bit higher than I can find at Chevron either at home (Tracy) or at work (Sacramento). Another thing that's a bit more expensive than other places is a courtesy cup (to spit in). Fifty cents for a courtesy cup! Other places will give them to you for free, other places will charge you a quarter. Well, OK, whatever-- I've learned in life not to waste your time haggling over pocket change. Here's the odd part: the cashier said she could give out free cups, but it depended on how much I had filled up (I hadn't, incidentally). She told me if I filled up 50 gallons or more, I could get a free cup. A free 50¢ cup... if I purchased around $150 of gasoline/diesel. Well, I paid the 50 cents (actually 54 cents, because they taxed the cup LOLWUT), got my cup, put some napkins at the bottom, put some crushed ice (oh yes, they have both cubed *and* crushed ice) over it, and walked out an indifferent customer-- wishing that one day, oh yes, I would be a high roller enough at the Flying J to be comped a cup of ice. tl;dr It's a freakin' truck stop i visited at 5:30am, what do you want from me? read more

Always the cheapest gas around. You can get anything from snacks and food to a Denny's. The only negative is the crabby old guy manager with the blue shirt. Please keep him away from the donut stand in the morning. It's better that he not interact with customers let alone people. The other employees are always nice and friendly. read more

Big fan of Flying J generally, and this one is conveniently between home and the Sacramento destination that's been creeping onto the GPS rather frequently of late. Restrooms are clean, snacks are of a nice variety when that sugary craving hits, and while I'll generally hold out 4 more miles for Panera, they do have a Denny's built into the travel center just in case one cannot hold out for a few miles... read more

Today, I ordered a sandwich from Subway around 10:39 a.m. from an attendant could care less. At the checkout, I presented a coupon for a discount but the she didn't know how to use it so she inquired with her supervisor. The supervisor immediately said no coupons allowed and when I told her I had used coupons several times at this store before, she sternly said no coupons and walked away. They have pretty good prices here in regards to Soda refills, and they also have both PEPSI and coke products, We also ended up getting gas here and those prices were very reasonable (sad thing to say $3 a gallon gas reasonable lol) So we filled up the car and we filled up my soda cup and left happy :) read more

I started filling up with fuel and then my wife and I went inside to get something to drink. We came out like 5 minutes later and only 5 gallons had pumped. I thought maybe the pump was bad so we went to another pump and it did the same thing. It took forever to fill up a little Subaru Outback. read more

So frustrated. I left my credit card there by mistake. After multiple calls and no one picked up finally someone answered and said yes we have it will keep it and you can pick it up next week when you are in town. Not like they made that up because it is a unique card and they described it to me. Went in yesterday said check tomorrow. Today woman said are you sure you are calling the right place? We don't have it. Just call your bank and get another one. If it were that simple in my life I would have done that already. So tired of being treated with passive disregard. I know it is there unless one of the employees stole it so...but not like anyone is going to bother to look for it not in their job description. Will not go there again. Loves employees across the street are much nicer anyway! Obviously I am fully at fault for losing it and will eventually get another one but won't be using it there! We were traveling to Southern California and stopped for diesel fuel for our truck earlier this week and filled our tank for $131. When we went to fill up later that day our credit card was denied because Pilot put a $500 charge on our card! Our credit union said that pilot does this often! We were outraged and we will never use Pilot again. The $500 charge was dropped that night but that's not the point. Because of Pilot we were inconvenienced and embrassed! Wow another gas station, lol. I am guessing from my review I do travel a lot especially around the state of California. I am writing this review with everything in mind including the restrooms. The first things I always noticed from this gas station, is how well lit the station is outside, there are very few areas on the property that does not have good lighting, which is good if you are traveling alone. The next thing you will find here is the gas prices are a low as any other station in the area. Usually this station is 1 or 2 cents cheaper from the other station around this same area. The restroom as always clean, I have never been here without seeing somebody cleaning or just picking up the restrooms. Attached with this main building is a Denny's restaurant, but that is for another review. The market inside this location has a Subway and other snacks and drinks, plus you can find anything for your truck/automobile too. The service here is fast and friendly from my personal experience and knowing what kind of service we get here we continue to come here and fill up if we are traveling up or down from this location. If you happen to be looking for a quick break some snacks and gas for the vehicle, then you do not need to look any further that Flying J. read more

Crap all over on the shelves not where it belongs, 15+ people in line, employees are rude, manager YELLING at customers to get in one line, bathrooms were downright gross. Clean showers very polite lady working hard to keep showers available and clean. There is plenty of grass and walking space for your dogs around the edges of the parking lot. We stay here over the other truckstops when we are in the area. Thankfully no door knockers so far and we have stayed here several times. Each visit has been very similar experiences. read more

Purchased one of the cinnabons in a cup, found a long-ass hair in between the slices! Waited until I got home to eat, close encounter of the follicular kind, am currently hacking up like a cat. First of all the shower was very clean and the staff courteous. What is up corporate? A $12 shower with no blow dryer and a broken fan? Other truck stops give me a fake flower in a vase, a written note, and a bar of soap that is not Go-Jo. Hey girls just want to be clean, not sanded down. This used to be our stop coming into Lodi every time, we used to love this place but as of 2 years ago we stopped coming here......the female staff are rude and cant be counted on to do their job, came in to load our prepaid Net spend card so we could pay our bills online as we always did around the first of the month, and the cashiers always want to say " they are not allowed to load prepaid cards after a certain hour of the day (which is an outright lie)" or the best one yet, we don't have anyone here who knows how to load them right now, sorry! We drive all the way from past walnut grove to be able to load our card to pay our bills and all you can say is, Sorry?!?! Nothing but miserable people working at a miserable place. Thank goodness the loves is right across the street, its our go to place now, friendly staff courteous service, loves is much better!! read more

Went to eat in the Denny's here... The Food that my Wife and I had was pretty good (Sampler Plate and Prime Rib Omelette). The Kids had the Mac-N-Cheese and barely had half of their Kids Plates saying it was, "too milky, and not cheesy enough." The Service was very friendly, but kinda slow. There were about 15 customers, but only the Manager and one Server helping everyone on the floor. Went in the Men's restroom... Which was nice and clean, but was really cold, and must have been less than 60 degrees in there! Cruised through the Travel Store which was neat, organized, and seems to have anything a traveler would want! read more

Beware. Its a one stop rip off shop. I stopped here one day to fill up on some propane. The guy filling up the propane took almost 1/2 hour to come fill up my tanks. When he did I noticed something out of the ordinary about the guy. He seemed to be a shady character. After filling the tanks. I asked the guy if he filled them up He said yeah. I went up to the front register and paid. A month went by and I ran out of propane. He ripped me off. I filled my propane up again at a RV park where the trailer was parked and they filled it up all the way and it's been 3 months and the propane is still full. Save time and go else where to get your propane filled. The person filling the tanks will rip you off. read more

My wife and I are on the road a lot and we tend to eat a lot of Subway subs when we travel. I always order a cold sub so it should be an even $5. When I asked why I was being charged tax for something that should not have been taxed, I was told, "We charge tax on everything in this store" Blink, Blink Smile. She has absolutely no clue that she is wrong. The Subway a few cities down has a wonderful sign that explains when tax is charged on food and it is correct in following the California tax laws. This is enough of a reason for me to keep on truck'n to the next stop. read more

The two women working when I went in were literally the rudest people i have ever experienced at flying j, or any where for that matter!! The two women that were working at like 12am-1am Tuesday Feb 6Th, have the ugliest attitudes for no reason at all! I came in through the door where Denny's is an my friend was getting food so I walked in the store (i only had my keys with a key chain wallet attached that I held in my hands the hole time) I looked around the store for a min and walked back towards Denny's where the bathroom is an there's a lottery scratcher machine right there by the door. I took $3 out of my wallet and put in $1 and it did nothing but make a clicking noise. It says on the machine to see clerk for assistance or something like that, so I walk up to the women who was working the register but she was by the candy, I told her I put a dollar in and before I was done she quickly cut me off and snapped back saying "it's full!" I replied back with "I put $1 in" her-"it took ur dollar? " me-"yes", she goes to the other women working which i believed to be the manager and tells her and she says "I'm gonna check the camera", am walks off. Then the other girl just walks off an didn't say anything to me. So I'm just standing there waiting as register girl just ignores me and the manager hasn't walked back out yet, about ten mins go by then she walks back out pushing a cart of stuff an continues on walking ignoring me, so I go up to her an ask "so were you going to be able to help me with that? " and so rudely with a condescending tone she says "no we aren't! I checked the camera an you didn't walk over there at all! You walked over here an that's it, I know you never walked to that machine so your gonna have to leave!" I said "really? What do you mean, I came in that way an walked back over there, I been standing there the hole time" I said "wow it's just a dollar it's not a huge deal but maybe u should put a sign if you know it's not working". Yes It was only a dollar that wasn't my point, I didn't even care but the way they were acting like I was trying to scam for a dollar when I had money in wallet! And then straight lie about me not being on camera. They had a terrible attitude and I wish I could express it but I can't on here. But I will never spend one single dollar there again and it's because of the two women working at 1230am Tuesday Feb. 6Th 2018! As if the situation wasn't rude, the attitude from both of them would have been enough to make me say the same thing about never going there again!
