Our bartender / server was awesome. Fast, attentive and friendly. The place had a fun vibe. Lots to look at and large TVs. The drinks were good and not watered down. Bloody Marys were perfect. The food was great but the only complaint was very small portions for the price. I'd go back though. read more

This restaurant was an ok stop on our way into town. I had the basic breakfast with grits. They have options. I will probably get something different if I ever go back. The staff were really friendly. read more

Hosts and servers were very friendly and it was very bright and clean, and the food looked lovely but I was very underwhelmed. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict. Both eggs were overcooked and seemed medium boiled instead of poached which was disappointing, and the flavor was just... bland. It was also not very warm. My husband ordered stuffed French toast and it looked lovely, but again, not very warm, bland, and dry. The person who cleared our plates, who was not our server, didn't seem concerned that we weren't happy with the experience, and unfortunately we had somewhere to be and didn't have time to wait around for corrections. The coffee and fresh fruit was excellent. For the prices I'm not sure I'd want to give it a second try, which is disappointing because I have heard so many great things about it. read more

We found this place after the Texas vs Tennessee game on Saturday. They sat us immediately and we were able to eat and drink and watch the afternoon Football games. The service and hospitality were excellent. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. They let us try a sample of their grits which were amazing! Nashville Hot chicken sandwich hit the spot. Along with a mimosa tower with your choice of juice. Highly recommend! read more

Seated immediately. Our eggs with biscuits and gravy, presented on colorful yellow and orange plates onto our brightly colored table cloth, came in a flash after ordering them. The gravy could have been a tad more seasoned, yet better than being over-seasoned with salt and pepper. Sides of smooth grits, fresh fruit and crispy bacon completed our meals along with water and hot tea for drinks. The only negative: the restaurant is super loud with so many tables in the dining room and booths along the walls. We needed to lean across the table to hear each other. This restaurant also adds a 25% gratuity for parties of 6 or more and charges 4% more if paying with a credit card instead of cash. Prices are standard for its awesome breakfast and brunch offerings, so overall it's a thumbs-up for another visit. read more

Delicious breakfast joint in Farragut. Decided to take myself out for a brunch date and try some place new. When I got there the place was definitely busy, which made sense because it was Saturday around 11. I got seated outside on their heated patio almost immediately. It would have been a wait for inside but the patio was nice and warm. My server was quick to come up and grab my drink order. A mimosa and coffee. Both of which came very fast. For mimosas they give you an option to get different flavors so I chose the peach and it was good. Nice and light. For food I got the stuffed french toast which came with a biscuit, two eggs and, chicken sausage. The french toast was really good. The cream on the inside and the berry drizzle over the top was delicious. It was sweet but not too sweet. The biscuit was light and fluffy and with the apple butter, even better. Surprisingly, one of my favorite parts of the meal was the chicken sausage patties. They had a nice savory flavor that also worked well with the biscuit. The food here was really good but the service was a little off. I don't know if it was because it was busy or what but it was a little disappointing. When I was waiting for my food, it was delivered to the wrong table. The server didn't notice and since one of the people there had ordered french toast (a different style) they were confused. The other table and I had figured out the issue after the food had been sitting there awhile. But it was almost impossible to flag someone down. The staff realized when the other tables food was delivered (a bit later). Instead of taking the original dish back to be recooked the person tried to offer it to me, which at that point everything had been sitting for a while, so I and the other table said it probably should be redone. It was remade which I appreciated but it was just kinda weird. The server also didn't even really acknowledge it, they just said it would be out soon. No apology or anything. I do understand that they were busy, but just a hey sorry about that would have been appreciated. read more

This place is one of my favorite brunch places in Knoxville. They're fast and very kind. We got here around 9:45am- told there was going to be a 20-25 minute but we got sat in 10 minutes. We sat down and ordered our food right away and we paid the bill and left the building by 10:45am. Also, there is a 4% charge when paying with card so I recommend paying with cash! The tables are very cute and the lights are so unique. The staff was very kind! We had Mallory and she was super friendly. A manager came and checked in and chatted with us and the busser thanked us for coming in. I highly recommend this place read more

Disappointing breakfast experience. I typically enjoy a well made breakfast, so my wife and I met with a friend this past weekend to give this spot a try. First let me say our server was very friendly and attentive, no complaints about service. The food, however, was sub-par. I ordered the waffle at the recommendation of the server. The waffle came out cool to the touch and couldn't even melt butter. As seen in my photos, even halfway through the meal it wasn't melting. When my coffee arrived I requested fresh cream, but was informed they do not have fresh cream and only had the branded artificial creamers. The grits were average. Cold waffles and gas station creamers are certainly not elevated breakfast foods and not worth the price point. read more

My sister & I stopped for breakfast after my doctor's appointment. We wanted something new that neither had tried. She noticed Flying Biscuit was we drove by heading to another spot. Decided to turn around and try. Boy was that a great decision. Our waitress, Dasha was Awesome. She was prompt, friendly and gave great suggestions. I had a Peach Pineapple Mimosa and the taste was refreshing. My Breakfast Burrito was a great choice. I could not decide what to have so I asked a gentleman next to us what he had, the burrito. Glad I went with his recommendation. The atmosphere here is very good, bright and the place was very clean! We will definitely be back. read more

Let me start by saying our waitress was a doll. She was so sweet and helpful. The food is a different story. Very overpriced and not very good. The gravy was a goopy mess and the macaroni was cold and watery with no flavor. $5.49 for one tiny pancake and $3.99 for a coke was wild. Ended up being $75 for 3 people. It was packed so I'm guessing it was an off day but I can't justify spending that much money on subpar food. read more

Quite the letdown Not quite sure what atmosphere they're going for, while appreciating the Ode to the Vols it feels very reminiscent of a preschool with all the drawings on the wall and mismatched tablecloths. 1st & last time trying chicken sausage! Dry, overcooked w/ oh so wrong flavor. Mediocre pancakes and the breakfast burrito is very lackluster w/ very little seasoning and a minute drizzle of queso. Overpriced mimosas. A redeeming quality was the waitress Joleen she was a gem! read more

Coming in, you're greeted woth a friendly staff, helpful even when busy! The owner came by to check to see if we were having a good meal, and chatted with us twice. I ordered the chicken and waffles with honey butter, and a white Russian (double vodka) and it was delicious. Felt like the Dude was right with me. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and fresh fruit, not only was the few bites I had of his burrito amazingly delicious, the fruit tasted fresh and full of flavor as well. The atmosphere is laid back, with bright table cloths and easy to slide chairs, booths line the walls, and I will thrilled to watch Teenage mutant ninja turtles on the screen on the far wall! All in all the only down side, or disappointment, was their regular coffee. My husband had to exchange it for a latte, and it was much better. For my take, and my husband's, you gotta stop by and at least try it for the food, stay for the ambiance and service. Order the latte read more

1st time...NOT THE LAST! Sipping my spicy Bloody Mary...I don't even know where to start with the fabulousness Is it the Nashville Spicy Chicken Tenders on a waffle with chicken gravy and over medium egg? Served hot. Is it the pancake breakfast? Hot. Or is it Joleen? Waitress extraordinaire..cheerful, quick, got our order right the FIRST time? No matter....RUN don't walk to this fun (see the murals) quirky restaurant with a wonderful menu. read more

We had to wait to be seated!! It WAS a Saturday, but they were busy at 11:30 AM!! We had a variety of food, omelets, waffles, biscuits (of course) eggs and ham, sausage, I had shrimp and grits / asked for grilled instead of blackened and was accommodated. Very nice. The setting is very "diner-ish" bug in a nice way. We'll definitely be back. read more

We went on Sunday for brunch. It was a little busier than they were prepared for. The wait was long, but the food was very, very good.

Biggest let down of the century. Waited over an hour to be seated (table of 3) and when we finally were packed into the middle of a room with a about a hundred other people all sardined together, our seats had food on them and/or were still wet from where they had been wiped off. Since we had a wait beforehand, we ordered right away. Took over 30 minutes to get our food to the table, and no one ever came to check on us. Pics attached show what you get for $53. No need to ever be back. read more

I've eaten her may times, but yesterday was the worst service and the food was horrible. The server never brought us a straw for our drinks. I had to as a server passing by for straws. That's after it took about 15 - 2o minutes to get water. I ordered a BLT and it was the worst BLT I've ever had. IT was bone dry, no mayo or any sandwich dressing at all. I won't be going back anytime soon. All this after having to wait in the entrance for 25 minutes because their texting system was not working and they couldn't give us an estimate of the wait time. I see why they have a 3.5 star rating. read more

So glad Flying Biscuit is finally in Knoxville! We went for brunch as a family and had a great experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for families. The food was amazing! I had the poached eggs with salmon and they were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely one of our new favorite brunch spots in town! P.S. Here are some of the dishes we tried -- not the best photographer, but the food speaks for itself! read more

3.5 stars would be more accurate. The food was the only reason for the average rating, but when you're a restaurant it's the most important aspect. I had the smoked salmon Benedict. Poached eggs and hollandaise were fine, but they need to serve it with smoked lox, fresh dill, and a biscuit instead of an English muffin (isn't this a biscuit joint?). The salmon was plain, cooked, and cubed and the dill was from a jar. Very disappointing. BUT the grits stole the show! Creamy and perfectly seasoned, these are definitely worth getting again. Good to know: they have a bar for mimosas and such, and can make lattes and mochas. Service and communication were perfect. Pleasant (kinda kooky eclectic style) environment. read more

This was an interesting spot for the first visit. When we walked in was not expecting to see a full bar. We were there around 11am or 1130am. They seated us immediately and there were probably 15 tables already seated. There were also plenty of seats still available. Menu has lots of options but not overwhelming. I got the gravy and biscuits, had to try something with a biscuit with the potatoes for a side, given the name of the place. It was good. The biscuit was okay. It didn't WOW me. My wife got the burrito with the cheese grits on the side. The burrito was great. But the star were those cheese grits. I highly recommend these. We will definitely be back during their select hours. These is the part that threw me for a loop. As I stated at the beginning they have a full seat at bar. So I expected that they would have hours that would match having a full bar. Nope. During the week 7am to 2pm and weekends 7am to 3pm. Great opening hours. It is just strange to me the closing hours. read more

Taste was okay. The food lacked flavor in my opinion. They really didn't use any flavoring or even salt.. The wait time was not bad and I didn't have the same experience in some of the comments regarding food being cold or anything. They give a lot of food which is nice. I think my old reason for the 3 out of 5 stars is cause everything was bland. If I come back here I'd just get a waffle because everything else is overpriced for the food taste. read more

New to the Farragut area, had heard good things about Flying Biscuit so we tried it for brunch today. First, the server was great, but the food was disappointing. My husband had the avocado toast, it was not fresh, and his eggs were tasteless. I had eggs, chicken sausage and toast, sausage had a good flavor, but could have been cooked more, toast was barely toasted and eggs were average. The First Watch across the street is so much better. Also, the noise level is extremely loud so having a conversation at the table was almost impossible. We love supporting local, but we won't be going back to the Flying Biscuit. read more

For opening day crowds, The Flying Biscuit did well! I had the stuffed French toast, which was absolutely delicious! My only problem is it is so sweet, so if that's not your breakfast style, don't go for it. My husband had the free bird omelet, which after eating a few bites I realized I should have ordered. The gravy was delicious! I ordered a side of grits as every southern gal should do and O-M-G they were amazing! I would drown in those grits if possible. The beignet donuts were tasty, but small - we will most likely pass on those next time. The murals on the walls were bright and overall the whole place is fun and inviting. We will be back once the kinks get worked out from opening. read more

I had high hopes this place would be a delicious new restaurant in Farragut where we could stop in for breakfast from time to time, but after eating there 2 x now we won't be going back. This most recent experience (while sitting at the bar) was terrible. We opted not to sit in the dining room & instead sit at the bar. When my husband told the non-binary host-ess (?) we would just sit at the bar, they said something my husband didn't understand so he asked them to repeat it (my husband is a VET who suffered hearing loss in the service) they rolled their eyes & sighed at him like it was so much trouble to repeat it. Then after we took our seat & ordered. Our food came out cold. My pancake literally had a hard layer on the bottom of it like it had been made hours ago & kept on the colder part of the griddle in the back for a LONG time before it came out. I had to tear it into pieces to eat it since my folk wouldn't cut through it. After 2 extra chewy bites I asked for another one & instead of the bartender apologizing or saying anything she just said I'll get you another one...the next one being the exact same. She never checked back or asked if this one was better. The big glob of butter on top wouldn't even melt is how cold & rubbery this pancake was. I'm sorry but if you can't get your pancakes done perfectly at a breakfast joint you're not going to make it. I will say their grits were delicious & warm (not hot) so I just ate those for my breakfast & left the cold pancake behind. The sausage patty was chewy/old like it had also been prepared hours earlier & left on the griddle. Awful. Next time we will just go to Tupelo Honey just around the corner. They have never let us down. read more

Terrible on every level. Service, food quality, and price horrible. Do not go here. Had the breakfast tacos. Stale tortillas, looks like they used egg beaters for the eggs, shredded cheese straight from the great value package. Sour cream was still completely frozen. Could not use. Chicken under cooked, shrimp wrap had 2 total shrimp un seasoned and ice burg lettuce. Nothing else. Also no biscuits read more
