House burrito is 14$ lo and behold ANY meat is extra, I ordered the shrimp and meat then realized had to order order another meat on top, I guess the menu is clear it's just very different. So overall I had very high expectations for a 20$ take out burrito after that. What I will say is it was a very tasty burrito and liked the sauce. Just be aware the extra costs. This review is of the brick and mortar of Flyin Taco, which I understand used to be a taco truck. The new location doesn't have any seating, but is modern-looking and smoothly run by friendly staff. This was my first time trying their food; never encountered the truck before, but it appears to have had a loyal following. The good: the meats are amazing. Both the brisket and the chicken are flavorful and oh-so-tender. It is clear a lot of care goes into their preparation. Each taco is packed with meat, making them a decently good deal. Yes, their prices are on the high end--at the time of this review, $6 for a single brisket taco, $5 for a single chicken--but I've encountered similar prices elsewhere for much less and lower quality meat. Each taco also contains a bunch of stuff: mozzarella (?) cheese griddled into the inside of the taco, your choice of filling, then an avocado lime crema (this leans avocado and was totally fine for me, a person who really does not enjoy crema/sour cream), red cabbage, cotija cheese, pickled onions and salsas on the side. The griddled cheese was a great touch and the crunchy cabbage and tart "crema" balanced the smoky meats well. The could-be-better: I ordered corn tortillas, and they were flimsy and tore as I was eating. There's just a lot of heft in those tacos for poor little store-bought tortillas. I might try flour next time, though I strongly prefer corn tortillas in general. Next time I'll order without pickled onions and cotija (the onions were simple to remove but the cotija not). I do wish there were different topping options thoughtfully paired with the meats. And perhaps, like other trucks-turned-brick-n-mortar, they will stretch in the future. Or not; their menu definitely has a logic to it. if I had to summarize, it's something like, we make great meat, now pick your vehicle of choice to get it into your belly. And that is why I will try another vehicle--maybe a bowl--next time. I will definitely be back, encouraged by the deliciousness of the brisket and chicken. We tried four tacos: brisket, Cajun shrimp, pork and chicken and they were excellent. I think we liked the shrimp and chicken the best but all of them will satisfy your hunger and give you that high quality food truck vibe. These are the best tacos I have eaten in Snohomish County, period. I tried the brisket taco and the shrimp taco and was very impressed. i just happened to be heading to the edmonds ferry & swerved into the parking lot when i saw this taco truck. it's a fair price for what you get in this particular area. lots of fixins' inside the taco which i like. my only suggestion is to put two tortillas together, especially with the corn ones, as they tend to fall apart too readily after the first bite. two tortillas is pretty standard for a street-like taco. good flavor. good job. read more
