First, I have to be honest and say that my first experience here wasn't all too great. I didn't feel very comfortable with my initial lash lady. It was my first time ever getting lashes and she wasn't very welcoming or warm. Like come on, girls are literally throwing money at you guys daily to be a confidence booster, at least amp up your customer service. Anyway, she did a decent job (although a couple of my lashes were going in total opposite directions from each other) I was kinda bummed because this place had such a great rep. I didn't even want to go back for a 2nd time, but I didn't want to waste the $200+ I spent on my first set. However, when I was late for a refill this week, I had to make an appointment with a different stylist. Holy Moly! ALYSSA you are amazing! She was super friendly, warm, and welcoming. Not only that, you can tell during her care that she takes her time and constantly brushes your lashes to perfection. I'm super disappointed in the business owners response to me yesterday. I've been a loyal client of Elisha's for almost 1 year. Throughout this time I have never cancelled on her, and I had always been super flexible and understanding whenever she's cancelled on me at the last minute or needed to move my appointment. I had an emergency yesterday, and when I had to cancel for the first time on Elisha I was very taken aback by her reply. It's worth noting that this particular appointment is one that she changed the time without asking me if it worked with my schedule- I saw the change via automated text notification. Because she didn't reach out to me directly, I had to text her to verify that it wasn't done by mistake. She then asked me if she could change it slightly 2 more times after that- I was flexible, as always. I am also a service provider, I'm an independent contractor- so I understand how frustrating it can be when we don't make money because of someone missing their appt. I also understand that we work with people, and that things happen so we need to have a human side to us. If a client goes out of their way to show me that they had a legitimate emergency, as I did with Elisha by sending her my Kaiser paperwork, I always waive the cancellation fee for the first cancellation. At the bare minimum, I'm kind even if I'm frustrated. I pinched a nerve in my back, and I thought it would be enough to ice it. I didn't expect to not be able to physically get up. When I tried to leave for my appointment I realized I couldn't walk, let alone get in the car or lie down on her lash table. I really wanted to get my fill, but there was nothing I could do but sit there until my partner got home to take me to urgent care. I messaged Elisha, explaining this to her. Over an hour after my appointment time she replied, and it really bothered me. She was very cold, and there was no acknowledgement or compassion for what I had said and she wanted to collect a cancellation fee. The fee was a fraction of what my visit was, so it wasn't a problem to pay it, her reply just rubbed me the wrong way- especially because it wasn't even my original appointment time. I told Elisha that she had cancelled on me multiple times and that I only cancelled because I couldn't walk and even if I had been able to get there I wouldn't have been able to get on her table- she did NOT care. She gave me the option of paying with Venmo or cc for the fee, I ultimately agreed to pay but I also sent her screen shots of every time she had cancelled on me and told her I was super disappointed by her "business first" cold reply. She didn't like that because she proceeded to block me. I only know she blocked me because when I saw that she took it upon herself to charge my CC, I tried to text her about not waiting for my consent to payment - and the text did not deliver. She should have waited for me to reply to her with how I wanted to proceed with the payment options she had given me. That is extremely unprofessional. The way we communicate with people is what makes us more valuable than robots. I guess we all choose to do business however we see fit, but when you start to lose sight of the connection you make with your clients and only care about YOUR time and money even though that consideration isn't reciprocated to your clients-in my opinion that's an ugly way of doing business. read more

I have had my share of bad lash experiences with 3 other places - whether it was the type of lashes they used, my retention, the technique or the overall customer service. All those problems went away when I found Elisha, here at Flutter Lash Bar. From the moment you walk in, you know the quality of service you'll be getting. I've been coming to Elisha for about 8 months now and have no plans on leaving. The quality of lashes and glue are amazing; I never have issues with any irritation or itching. My lashes can keep for 3 weeks and I'll still get compliments on them days before my next fill. The beds are so comfortable, as are the eye pads. She is always careful about making sure I'm comfortable. It is so relaxing that I have to twiddle my thumbs to keep from falling asleep. The music playing for ambiance is always tasteful and never has explicit language. My fills only take about 30-45 minutes, not hours like previous locations I'd been to. And the place is very clean! Flutter Lash bar is a cute, clean, primarily lash-focused space. My first time was about a month ago and I'm wondering why I haven't done this earlier. The first set was with the owner, and lasted a very long time (about a month). My second time was last week with another person and they're super thin, particularly towards the inside. I'll ask to have them fuller when I get my fill-in. Both ladies were very nice and I'd be happy to see either of them again. You might be wondering why three stars with such a positive review. It's because Flutter also offers skincare via Darlene. I had a chemical peel with her several days ago. She did a beautiful job and my skin is looking great so far. The product is a quality one so that's awesome too. My qualm with Darlene is that for over half of the time I laid under her care she felt it necessary to repeatedly let me know how much she despises the Modesto area and the valley. "She doesn't fit in here, why does her husband even want to stay here" etc. Fine, I get it. I try to change the subject and ask her if she's tried Brighter Side (two blocks away) for lunch as I've heard they have excellent sandwiches. Her reply was no, "She just doesn't like the food around here", (the bashing continued). It doesn't meet her high quality Bay Area standards. LOL This woman in her mid 30's has to keep telling me how she's better than the town where I live, where she went to school. She doesn't like any Italian around here (yet hadn't tried Verona's or Dewz), or any other restaurant for that matter. If you're going to try to act cultured, at least have one abroad trip besides Mexico under your belt. The main reason I'm posting this that put me over the edge was when we began talking about careers. Long story short I told her I spoke with one of my colleagues earlier that day who was super stressed out and thinking of a sabbatical (he's a school counselor of 20 years). Her response was "What a BORING job, I could never do that". Never mind that this man helps young children with their problems day in and day out for two decades. Nuff said. Darlene could have made me look like 20 year old skin and I wouldn't sit on that bed again. Maybe she's peeled away too many layers of her own skin to achieve this level of shallow, or she's just #oblivious. Let me start off and say I'm in love with this place. The area is nice and right when you step foot into the place you walk into a fancy waiting room where they also sell nice clothes. I've never had the time to look through them but the way they are displayed you can glance and be able to see how cute so many tops and pants are! As well with jewelry. So on with the lashes, I'm obsessed. I never want to take them off, being able to wake up and be ready is the best feeling. I don't even wear makeup as much anymore. I go with Jessica, but the rest of the staff are so friendly and greet you in. I've got them done twice with classic sets; the first time I had them for 3 months going back with fills 2-3 weeks with no problem at all. Then for financial reasons I had to take them off for 1 or 2 months, my real lashes were not damaged at all! They seemed really short but because I was missing my lashes, so once I was back on track with my situation I went back to Jessica ASAP! She brought me back to life haha. Jessica is very sweet, talking to her is like I've always known her. So comfortable to talk to and puts you to sleep while doing your lashes, the beds are so damn comfortable! Booking appointments are never a problem either and right when you go in for your appointment Jessica is always ready to go! Full disclosure: if you cannot make your eyelashes a priority and use the appropriate soap, clean them every night and brush them then eyelash extensions are not for you. Elisha does my extensions. I've been getting them done for almost 7 mos now. They are definitely an adjustment getting used to but as someone who had contacts for most of my life, this was just something to add into my regular routine. I really love my lashes, aside from the work it takes. Fake eyelashes always felt odd to wear so this was the next best alternative. You cannot wear any pencil eyeliner on top when you get them so be prepared. I also use the lash food to boost my own lashes. I've tried both classic and volume. I checked them out online and their work was amazing so I decided to see if any Full Set appointments were available. Elisha the owner, came in early just to do my set, and that really goes to show the type of professional she is! It was so sweet and kind of her to make that accommodation for me! She was so kind, sweet, and did a wonderful job on the set of lashes. They were very full and natural just like I wanted, and we discussed. The salon itself was SOOOO adorable and CLEAN! You could tell some love went into making such an amazing lash salon. My experience while at Flutter was great!! My review of 4 stars is ONLY because by the beginning of the second week majority of the lashes had already fallen out, and I was bummed about that. I have been going to Elisha for over a year now and it is been worth every penny. I started with the classic set and have since switched to volume. BEST decision! I get fills every 2-2.5 weeks because I workout 5x/wk and sweat quite a bit (this may cause the lashes to fall off more then natural shedding) but since switching to volume, my friends can never tell when I'm up for a fill. They are super light and can't feel them on my eyelashes at all. While I usually see Elisha, I have also had Marissa do my volume fills and she's fantastic as well. My eyelash stylist was great! The studio was clean and renovated! The chair I sat on was comfortable and I even fell into a light sleep while she finished my eyelashes. My stylist made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. It was a seamless process from start to end. It wasn't painful, she thoroughly explained how to care for my lashes after they were done, and she even gave me a colorful eyelash brush to take home and use. OMG! If you want AMAZING lashes, this is where you need to go! I see Jessica regularly and she does a fantastic job. When I first had them done, she explained the whole process to me...How to maintain them, how often I would need to come get them filled. I had different lash "styles" to choose from. Of course, I let her choose what she thought would fit me better since she obviously had a bit more experience than me. The prices are super reasonable for what you get.
