I'd been meaning to visit this landmark for the longest time and glad I was able to stopped by today. The timing is perfect, in celebration of Chinese New Year, we were able to see works of various Asian artists. The magnificent creative displays were fascinating. The artists time and ideas they put into it are quite impressive. A registration is required to make sure to get a spot both for the exhibit and the film viewing. During this Covid crisis, they are making sure to admitthe right amount of capacity. Admission is free to the public. The exhibit is located on the ground level. The film is showing on the second level. If we were not in another engagement, we could have stayed to meet the artists in person. Beautiful historic building.

Queens culture right in your own back yard. This place is amazing. The history behind "Flushing Town Hall" and what it does now is too cool. I can't wait to visit again ....

Cool place! I came here to see Paige in Full, which I got a free ticket for through NYPL. It seems that FTH has so many cultural, interesting, artsy shows and collaborations for low prices. It's a multidisciplinary little center that offers a great value. I only explored the auditorium, the art room, and the gift shop, so I don't know if there's more to it. I'd recommend for events, performances, art and music classes, community gatherings, and more. They have student discounts and they make sure to acknowledge the Matinecock tribe, whose land Flushing sits on! Paige in Full is a forty-five-minute visual mix-tape that blends poetry, dance, visual arts, and music to tell the story of a black, Cuban, and Chinese woman growing up in Baltimore, exploring how a young woman's identity was shaped by her ethnicity and popular culture, through the lens of hip-hop. I appreciated that it was a personal story that many could relate to, on the levels of identity, love, and family.

Thanks Sierra and the Yelp team for the hook up with the tickets. On 11/12, Flushing Town Hall was hosting the Diwali 2016 celebration with live performance from dancers and singers from countries such as Guyana, Surinam, Bangladesh, and India. The exterior design of the Flushing Town Hall building is beautiful and it stands out in this neighborhood. It's a good walk from flushing train station, but well worth it. I was very impress with how well maintain the inside of Flushing Town Hall is kept. I totally underestimated this place, I was surprised by the space and unique styling. The first floor has this cute little art gallery along with chairs and tables in case you wanted to rest. Their gift shop/box office was packed with all these cute little souvenirs. As you make yourself to the auditorium on the second floor, it feels like you are actually entering a Broadway theater. Lots and lots of seatings with a huge stage. Perfect set up for a live show.

What a beautiful venue. The arches and buttresses remind me of Palace of Popes in Southern France. This 150 year old landmark was originally a town hall, courthouse, jail and now an arts center. We were invited to the Charcuterie Masters Event, courtesy of Yelp. It was amazing. The multiple variations of pork left our bellies stuffed of delicious pork products. We had prosciutto, cheese, salami, chocolate covered bacon, head cheese, spicy sausage spread, chicharones, pork cheek, bacon and cracklings. And we enjoyed the sweet bubbly Hibiscus ginger hard cider and lavender cider from Awestruck as apéritifs and digestifs. My favorites were the spicy sausage spread and the 4-step-chicharrones from Ends Meat. The butcher gave us a full tasting of each product, took time to explain each slice of prosciutto, salami, and sausage. The sausage spread had a spicy kick and smooth richness was so unique that K and I both were wowed! No one else had a spread that tasted as good. And chicharrones were crispy light cracklings in our mouth! I wanted the whole bag! And Chef L. Popa's Mangalitsa and mulefoot spiced pork rillettes, pig butter, onion confit and pickled mustard bite was wonderful. The pickled mustard really made this dish unique. The sour mustard seeds cut into the pork rillettes and pig butter and the onion confit added a sweetness to the dish. Her bite took a while to construct but definitely worth the wait! Awestruck served chilled aromatic hibiscus ginger cider. The acidity and sweetness was perfect with all the pork! K liked the lavender cider. When I sipped the lavender cider, my eyes got wide and a big 'mmmmm' slipped out. It smelled of fresh lavender, and had slightly sweet lavender flavor. And the Yelp table had black coffee to aid digestion. Two cups of black coffee were a perfect cap to the night. Thank you Yelp, Sierra, and all the vendors that night! We had a great time!

I remember that my HS friend had her photography work showcase at the Flushing Town Hall over a decade ago. Okay, okay no more walking down memory lane. Luckily I was able to catch the last hour of the second opening night before it shuts down at 8pm. Some of the pieces were very interesting as my favorite is the sculpture...i believe called In Between. Each piece were labeled with the artist's name, name of the work, what they used to create the piece, the size and also pricing of the work. Definitely you need to check out this amazing exhibition which ends on November 22, 2015!

Famous attendees. Yelp queen Katie and of course Higgins from the tonight show!

In a borough not generally known for landmarks, the Flushing Town Hall is a glorious, iconic beating heart of the world's most culturally diverse urban area. Global Arts for a Global Community is the perfect tagline for this space with it's varied schedule of events, art displays, concerts, etc. It is always a pleasure and privilege to attend an event here. Flushing Town Hall is available for rental to host your event. On a personal note, this place was on our short list for holding our wedding reception but unfortunately due to capacity (My life mirrors that of the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding") and parking logistics - it was a no go. A fact that still disappoints me to this day since I love Queens as much as I do it would have been the perfect venue. The first floor hosts a gallery along with other smaller rooms of various sizes. There is a theater on the second floor with a flexible flooring plan along with a mezzanine level of fixed rows of seats. I saw an elevator here, but did not use it. With everything being recently renovated, but keeping many of the classic details of the space - it sure is a beauty. The website is well run and has plenty of information along with an informative calendar of upcoming events and exhibits. Having recently attended the Cheese expo held here it was great to see how well run this place is and made me want to come back soon.

I don't have any plans for saturday & decided to check out this event since Its just 10 minutes drive away from home. I message Sierra about this asking if I can bring my friends with me & shes very helpful & said yes I can. Get there & parking is a bit tough. When we get to the entrance door we just told the guy that were from yelp. Easy! Then we got in. Their were rooms inside & lots of tables to display Chinese decors. Looks really pretty. On the second floor was really cool. It was a big room that they had the show & people promote their products like foods, beauty products & yelp booth is their too giving away free stuff if you check in on yelp. Great experienced! Thank you Yelp! You're always amazing! :)

It was my first time coming to Flushing Town Hall, for a *free* Queens Symphony Orchestra concert I saw promoted through Eventbrite. What an amazing evening, at such a beautiful venue! Did I mention the concert was free?! These musicians play with many other esteemed ensembles in the City, and, around world. I loved the performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. And, to my delighted surprise, it featured (Polish-born, New York-based) violinist, Kinga Augustyn. It was an honor to watch and listen to the music. The concert space was both intimate and a good size, and the acoustics were great. I much appreciated the Concession for a quick snack and a glass of wine since I had hurried here after work. Apparently, the Symphony Orchestra offers more concerts, and I picked up a 2018 Program of Events to check out when I can come here again. Getting to the Town Hall was super easy- 7 Express train from Manhattan, and a few minutes walk to Northern Blvd. Taking the subway beat dealing with evening traffic and parking in the area. Flushing Town Hall officially opened Jan 8, 1864. It remains a landmark building, and is currently an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute. It has an art gallery that changes exhibits, as well as a permanent Jazz collection display. During concert intermission, I made sure to check out the art galleries and displays downstairs. The Town Hall offers drawing classes, concerts, art exhibits, dance classes, jazz jam sessions, etc. What a cultural gem in Queens!!

We recently had our wedding at Flushing Town Hall in April, and Kevin and his staff have been nothing but supportive and helpful during our process. We originally only wanted to host our ceremony/cocktail hour at Town Hall, but once our other venue cancelled on us 6 months before the wedding, we moved everything to here and it wen so smoothly thanks to all the staff. They've also helped us find a great catering company, and worked with all our other caterers/venues to make sure everything went well. We had our ceremony outside in the garden, which sat about 90-100 people for us. Our cocktail hour was in their gallery, and although they didn't have any art exhibitions on the walls, the space was just as beautiful. Lastly, our reception was held in the theater, and that place was transformed into something SO elegant and beautiful thanks to Kevin, Mike and literally everyone. Communication with Kevin and Town Hall was extremely easy and they responded to all our concerns and questions (and we had a lot) very promptly. The biggest decision we had to make for our wedding and I think it was a great one. Thank you guys! Photographer: Cynthia Chung Photography Decorations: Flushing Town Hall + Melissa's Creations

Flushing Town Hall is a really nice event space with a beautiful, old-timey exterior, a large entrance floor that resembles a museum or art gallery, a large upstairs floor that is auditorium or concert hall like - complete with a performance stage, a balcony level and an outdoor backyard space. I came here for my first time on Saturday evening for the Catskills Comes to Queens Event. This was a farm-to-festival food and wine tasting featuring an all-star line-up 20 chefs from both the Catskills, Queens, and the greater New York City area...the event started at 6pm and I my boyfriend & I arrived around 6:30pm...there was no wine, only a cider tasting with glasses the size of the ones that come with cough medicine. There was a self serve beer-keg outside but it kicked around 7:40pm...with the event ending at 9pm...but this wasn't the event space's fault so I digress. If you have an opportunity to check out an event at Flushing Town Hall, do it :).

Love this place! It's quite small but very educational, meditative, and fun. A nice small gift shop if the side and decent service and attitudes from staffs. Most people or audiences that go there are friendly too. There's a gallery show downstairs at the moment and some shows or events especially on Fridays upstairs. The performances and events are different kinds of arts and it's really amazing. Highly recommend for all ages and groups and I'd definitely be going back a lot more whenever I have time. If you have ID NYC you can apply for a year's free membership at the front desk and if you're under 20 years old, you are free, just remember to bring an ID for verification.

Growing up in Vermont, I am a huge fan of cheese. I loved sharp cheddars so much, I would slice squares of it for a snack (until the block of cheese was half gone). This festival was a great way to try other cheeses. We checked in, and got 3 beans to vote for our favorites. Coat check was behind the check in table but we opted to start eating first. The first cheese we tried was Merrion Park, which made round balls of hard cheeses. They looked like gigantic truffles. They were fun to eat. One of my favorite was the Hudson Valley Truffle. It was so aromatic and soft and creamy. It was perfect! The Italian black truffles blended well with the creamy white cheese. Another amazing cheese was Beecher's flagship (aged cow's cheese) and flagsheep (aged sheep and cow's cheese). These aged cheeses were so savory and sweet with Tyrosine crystals. I love hard cheeses with a crunch. It was so amazing that I am salivating as I am typing this. The Beecher's fresh curds was soft and fresh. Tasted like a milky slightly-sharp-mozzarella. The dessert cheese was caramel mixed with cheese from Call me Caramel. This was amazing! Gruyere cheese caramels or Cheddar cheese caramels. They were sticky savory and sweet. It was so unique! Don Rodrigo Duarte served an amazing pata negra. This was a welcome break from all the cheeses. The jamon was savory and slightly sweet from the pig's diet. The slices melted in your mouth. They were generous enough to let some people slice their own prosciutto. It was so fun! There was a VIP room filled with prosciutto, salami and cheeses. There was a gooey baked brie pie. I loved this! The flakey buttery crust complemented the cheesy brie. The raspberry jam cut in the butteriness of this bite. Casa del Chef served a good gnocchi with cheese sauce. Of course it's ooey gooey deliciousness was the subject of Yelp's photo contest winner (Congratulations Katie - awesome photo!) All and all a great event with so many good things happening on two levels here. I do have a constructive criticism for next time: there needed to be better ventilation on the second floor with all the people and the hot soup, and raclette smoke made the space a bit oppressive at times. Overall, the event hit the right mix of vendors and had impressive offerings from most!

The office that handles the marriage certificates are also friendly and helpful. The parking can be a little bit of a pain but is manageable. Overall great office.

In the event you find yourself with a so called ordinance violation, make sure you as the code…read moreenforcer the origin of the ordinance. In over 90% of the cases he/she will not know the answer. Many ordinance are on the books and are outlived and or outdated. The town makes no effort to keep them current or remove them. interesting experience with this Town, I never experienced any other county that places a violation, and if not attended to in the short window provided you go to court. That's where the Town's money making comes into play, the county attorney job is to get $$$, they will pressure you to settle and pay a min. of $500 for the slightest of violation. If you have a violation and it was not cleared up by the time of court ( and even if you did remedied the alleged violation, the Town still expects $$$ from you. This is where lies one of many problems.. your a taxpayer, comply with the violation and still have to pay a fine? This is very fishy. In another situation, say you didn't comply, you provided up to 9 months if you pay the fine plus an administrative fee within 30 days.
