Terrible company and poor customer service. We have had our solar panels installed over a year ago and still receiving electric bills. What is the purpose of having solar if you're still paying for electricity? Fluent has done NOTHING to resolve the issue as far as reimbursement or any other resolution. Fluent Solar "might" have a good product, but their customer service is abhorrent. I have a solar panel that is still under warranty and is not working, but I can't even reach the "Warranty" team. I leave messages on the warranty team's messaging system, but no one ever returns my call. So, I called customer service instead and they couldn't reach the warranty team either. Another issue I had earlier in the year was even finding the Fluent Solar phone number. It had changed since I bought the solar panels, so I had to Google search to find their new phone number. It seems they are trying to avoid any customer calls. Once when talking to customer service, I was told that the Warranty Team would call me back. I asked "Today?" And they answered "yes, today". They never called back that day. I strongly suggest you not use the services of Fluent Solar. read more

My wife and I met with a salesperson from Fluent Solar. He was very nice and seemed low pressure. He told us that every electric company in the state of Ohio paid consumers penny for penny per kilowatt hour for what they generate via solar panels. So basically, if the electric company charged 13 cents per kilowatt hour, it would pay us (the solar panel owners) 13 cents for that kilowatt hour. The salesperson also said this was locked in for 25 years, so that if the rate of electricity went up, we would still be paid penny for penny. We reached out to our electric co-op (Pioneer) just to confirm what Fluent Solar had told us, and were told that they do NOT pay penny for penny. Right now, they only pay 7 cents per kilowatt hour, which is about half. The Pioneer rep also said that rate changes year to year (up or down), and that nothing is locked in. Either the Fluent Solar salesperson outright lied to us to get us to sign a 25-year contract for over $74,000, or he was grossly misinformed. We contacted him immediately and cancelled the contract and the loan with no issues. Be very cautious when speaking to solar companies and check with your electric company before signing anything. read more

Complete and total nightmare. Two botched installations, which included brawls between employees, electrical conduit dangling off my roof, garbage strewn about, total lack of preparedness (tiny ladder for a 3 story home), and no response from their headquarters. Fluent knew the panels were installed incorrectly for 3 months and a panel flew off the roof on Christmas. And, my roof is leaking! Fluent's proposed solution to this problem (on rare occasion when they actually decide to call me back) is to let a new team of installers redesign my system on the fly and just hope it meets their production estimate. Company is poorly run. System was installed 6 months ago and hasn't worked ever. Long waiting periods between services and they have canceled my service appointments so they can fix other already working systems. I was told I'd have a year before I needed to start paying the loan and I'd get basically free energy in the mean time. No such luck. Can't wait till I have to start paying the loan on basically a bland art exhibit on my roof that does nothing. They haven't offered any compensation for a broken system and I'll have to pay the loan and a full energy bill soon. Not sure I'll be able to afford it and it will be impossible to sell a house with these stupid nonfunctional panels on my roof. Stay clear. Going with them has been an incredibly expensive mistake. read more

Salesman promised significantly more solar output that is Recieved. This is after he said "I always under promise and over deliver". Sold the idea of earning credits from the utility company when there was no way our system was enough to earn credits no less offset our electricity usage in ANY month. Very dishonest salesman and company. Neither will take my calls after installation. read more

I worked with the Fluent team and their communication was A+. Zach and Luis were always on top of every communication and answered all my questions. Even when I had issues come up on my end that led me to being unable to pursue the project I wanted, the whole Fluent team worked together to make the unwind process as easy and seemless as possible. What a nightmare. I had to fight for nearly 2 months for them to get the contract right to match the promises that were made to me. Ultimately I had to threaten a lawsuit to get them to give me what they promised. My solar panels have been installed now for a month and a half and they still do not work. I can't get anyone at customer service to answer the phone. My sales rep won't answer his phone or text messages or emails. When I do talk to Someone they say they will call me back or make appointments for me and they never do. This has been the worst experience of my entire Bein career. I would never do business with this company again and if I could walk away without having to pay them thousands of dollars I would. Still considering filing a class action lawsuit and looking for an attorney to get compensated for all the hours that I have wasted trying to do their job for them. Currently I have $64,000 for the paper weights on my roof. If a salesman by the name of Brian Custer shows up at your door tell him to go away. He is useless. read more
