This company is a joke! Our air conditioner stopped working so we called Valentine for an estimate for a full replacement.After spending a few minutes looking at the system, they proceeded to write a quote. For our relatively small, 3 bedroom house we were given a quote of $30,000!! After telling Valentine this is outrageous, they responded by saying the cost is so high because it includes their "premium service plan." On top of this outrageous quote, they tried to charge us $650 to come out for the estimate. We refused to pay. The technician then laughed and said "whoops, I think my math was wrong."We still ended up paying them $350 but it was worth it to get them out of our house. Had 2 other replacement estimates done by 2 other companies; both were less than $7,000. Not even sure if con artist is a strong enough term. This company is simply dishonest and will say anything to get as much money from you as they can. There are plenty of other HVAC services in the area. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE! read more

Jim was excellent. We had an unknown leak and he came the same day when I was available. The leak did a lot of damage so our insurance company was involved. Jim located the leak got us going so we could function temporarily and came back the next day since the insurance contractors had to do some work. The next day he fixed the source of the leak. As luck would have it our furnace stopped working during the coldest stretch we'd seen in a while. Jim happened to be available same day and was here within an hour. My family just moved to the Cincinnati area from NY and we had problems with our AC within the first 2 months. I called Valentine's at 9:30pm as we had no cool air and he was at our house within 10 minutes for some temporary repairs. We ended up having to get a new outside unit at a VERY affordable price. It is a horrible company. They came to my house to install a brand new primary pump, and failed battery for the secondary pump, and the new primary pump they just installed was not working. That caused my basement flooding. Other plumbers came to check, and found that the floating switch was not properly installed, and the valve check should have been replaced during the installation. Anyway, Valentine Mechanical is a joke, and get away from this company. read more

I called Jim on Super Bowl Sunday to ask if I could schedule a time for him to come out and take a look at our malfunctioning furnace. He was kind enough to return my message within the hour, and after hearing my description of the problem we were having, walked me through a possible solution over the phone. It worked, and my husband and I really appreciate his expertise and the fact that he saved us money. He also came out to do an in-person tune-up, explained the regular annual maintenance we should do to keep our furnace healthy, and his price was incredibly reasonable. I called Jim and just by describing my problem, he knew my type of furnace and the problem to be corrected. He quickly came to the house and confirmed the part to be replaced. (It was a fan motor going bad.) He had to order a part, and when it came in he came out and fixed it. He was a professional and fixed the issue at a fair price. Called and asked if we could get a part and he said sure no problem he would meet us with the part in an hour or so but would call first. After two hours and no call we called back and he said sorry he couldn't find the part but didn't bother to call and tell us! It's over 100 degrees outside and I have two babies! read more

Took about 30 minutes for Jim to get here. Furnace stopped working on Friday afternoon and he came out right away. He quickly figured out what the problem was and installed a new part, which immediately fixed the issue. Highly recommended. read more

I called during the first major climate change this fall. My heat was out, after my husband decided to give up we found the number. He said he would be here within an hour. He arrived in very promptly, introduced himself pleasantly. He tinkered around and found out what part needed to be replaced.
