I usually love Floyd's but I would be lying if I said I'm not extremely disappointed with the haircut I recently received. I told the lady I didn't not want length taken off and just wanted some small face framing layers. Instead she told me that my hair was heavy and proceeded to chop heavy layers all around my head and take quite a bit of length off. I left feeling so self conscious and sad about my hair. I had grown out my hair for a year to get a long haircut and some wispy layers and instead she didn't listen to her client and did what she wanted. When your work is a service it means you listen to the clients wants and not take it upon yourself to have creative liberty with their hair. My hair because of reasons I won't go into is special and extremely important to me, I left this appointment never wanting to go to a salon and so vulnerable. Going forward please think before acting, whether you agree with the costumers decision or not, this is their body and their head that is carrying this haircut. I went in today for a men haircut. Been going there for a while now, unfortunately my hair stylist "Bobby" doesn't work there anymore. So I was randomly picked by one there. I can't believe the haircut I got was so horrible, and the hair stylist was so unprofessional. I will never go back to this place. The barbers they hire are not seas barbers and they train regular people to cut hair. My barber had only been cutting hair for 90 days when he cut my hair then went on to completely mess my hair up. Overall: Bobby did a great job Details: I called ahead around 5:15 to schedule a cut at 6pm on a Thursday. I got scheduled with Bobby. He did a great job, cut my hair in a timely manner (like 40 minutes), and held a great conversation. Floyd's has been following the standard covid social distance measures and they kept a very clean and safe facility. Justin was amazing. He was fast, precise and overall dope as f***. I've been going to the same barber for 6 years until I recently moved further away from him. I hadn't gone to get a cut in almost two months because I was so worried about trying someone new and couldn't find the time to see him. I needed a cut BAD. I called very last minute and they were able to get me in 30 minutes later, where I got Justin. We live in E Plano, but drive to Addison for Jacob - my 15 year old son refuses to see anyone else. He used to be at the Richardson location, but moved to be the shop director here. We make sure to make an appointment, and get right in. They are also great about taking precautions during the pandemic. They take temps. They make you wear masks and the enployees wear them as well. I called earlier today asking for a was and a cut on medium length hair. The young lady over the phone booked the appointment with ease. When I arrived at the location my hair was not washed instead it was just spray bottled and cut. Product was also added but having unwashed hair it looked atrocious and greasy. I had to come home and wash it myself and style only to find out my bangs are completely uneven. I also asked for a medium length shag, The top layer of my hair is shorter than my bangs meaning I cannot even put it up in a ponytail to disguise the bad outcome. I've come here several times to get my haircut and I was always happy. As of today never again. I am not the type of girl to cry over hair, but I am extremely disappointed in this and low-key embarrassed about this cut. I've been growing a pixie cut out for over a year only to get a hair cut that makes me want to pixie it all over again. It looks like I did a tik tok challenge to cut my own hair. It's not even a shag I now have a rat tail for a " bottom layer" If I could give negative stars I would Update... I had an emergency consultation with another stylist and they did suggest to cut it ALL to a short bob or a pixie that this stylist butchered my hair. I called this location all they could do is offer my a free haircut next time. All I got was im sorry no one should leave with a bad haircut. This is not a bad hair cut this is a HORRIBLE cut. I will be cutting what took over a year to grow off now back to the point I started because of this cut. The time is now 7:44 I have gotten a call from another stylist at Floyd's wanting to fix my hair but after having my consultation with another stylist saying that the solution would be to chop it I do not want any stylist at that establishment touching my hair. To fix my bangs alone they would have to become micro bangs. This has been the worst haircut I have ever gotten. The situation has only gotten worse the more I communicate with Floyd's. read more

The manager Manny who I was a regular of, was cutting my hair one day and when I had some questions about my haircut and if we could make some changes, he was very short with me and it made me feel incredibly uncomfortable sitting in the chair with him. So I decided to go this evening and be a walk-in. I waited 35 minutes and the young lady who took me said she did not know how to do feax-hawk, mohawk or fade ins. Ehhhh, review in progress. Been here 4 times, had 2 bad haircuts and 2 acceptable ones from 2 stylists. That's a 50% success rate so far. I'm going to keep rolling the dice on yet another different stylist, but I'm starting to get pessimistic. But their prices are decent, and it's a clean place, so there's that. Oh also beware if you walk in or have an appointment (like me) when they first open, it's a mess (late stylists, receptionist overwhelmed with people and calls, signage of 'open' not on, etc). read more

What a great cut! My husband and I went in here on a whim to get his hair and beard trimmed and they did a fantastic job. The service was great and the woman who cut his hair was super attentive, listened to his requests, and made sure everything was perfect. She even asked me how I liked his hair, so I'm glad my opinion mattered, haha. I docked off 1 star simply because the wait was ridiculous. Granted, it's Sunday, maybe everywhere else is closed, but coming in at 12:30 without a reservation meant we didn't get to leave until around 2:30. A whole 2 hours! 90 of which was strictly waiting and waiting and waiting some more. Now, I will say the wait was worth it because this is the best haircut I've seen on my husband but good grief. When it comes to getting coiffed, i'm a bit of a scoff. Any semblance of vanity comes with some reluctance, and my coiffure typically involves a number setting on a pair of clippers, hastily applied pomade, and stopping just short of Pert Plus (I know better than that!). My tolerance for hair styling also stops just short of the Master Clips/Cuts or some other dreadful chain. Floyd's on the other hand, is a masterfully conceived gimmick; a laid back, rock & roll poster bedecked venue with a greatest hits line-up of stylists. My stylist did exemplary work, despite my perfunctory grunt of, "just need to clean up the edges and manage the split ends". I sat, staring at Iggy Pop's ponderous crotch, as my stylist expertly teased, prodded and textured every follicle on my head. Throughout, we chit chatted complacently about life, work, music, current affairs, and hair products. What resulted was nothing short of a perfect haircut - at least to my uneducated eyes. But would perfection come at a price? "$19". I would have cheerfully paid double that price. In short, these guys rock! read more

I constantly get a busy signal every time I try to reach someone at Floyd's Addison, TX first thing in the morning. The only reason why I call so early in the morning, the day I want to get a haircut, is because they refuse to do pre booking. I don't understand this? I've been getting my hair cut here for about 2 years now, I guess I should have written a review by now. Just to preface, I have thick straight Asian hair. It usually brings fear to a barber/stylist. My hair, when left on its own, resembles a chia pet. It just grows straight out and probably wouldn't lay down until it got to 6-8 inches in length. Suffice it to say, its a PITA to cut, which is why I used to buzz it. Only other Asians know my pain.. They have no fear here. Kendall's been cutting my hair the whole time and does a great job. He understands how f'ing difficult my hair is and takes the time to make sure everything is even. The slightest different in length shows up with my cut and he makes sure there's no random bumps or mishaps with this noggin of mine. I get a regular floyd's cut with a shampoo, so that's all I can really comment on. I have no clue how the coloring or waxing or any other random stuff they do is, but if its like their cuts, I'm going to guess its top notch. I've seen plenty of guys, gals, and children come through, so they gotta be doing something right. I do suggest calling in if you plan to get a cut. The wait can be long, especially on the weekends. I think the only thing I can find fault with Floyds is that on occasion, when its busy, even if you call in, you may still have to wait 10-15 minutes past your reserved time. It doesn't happen often, but I'd be lying if I said it never happened. On the bright side, they do have a pool table, plenty of tvs, and a pair of computers you can use to surf the net to pass the time. The music they play is completely random, so if you don't like a song, just wait, and you'll most likely enjoy the next. I've heard it go from Britney Spears to Metallica to Boyz II Men. So yeah, if you're in the Addison area and need your hair DID, come on by to Floyd's. read more

This is where I take my son for haircuts. I love it! Floyd's is a trendy place for haircuts. While it's called a barbershop and most customers are men, they do cut women's hair too. The atmosphere is fun & relaxed. They play awesome music (Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Dave Mathews, etc.) and the place is decorated with rock posters. There is a pool table and free WiFi while you wait. The haircuts are wonderful. Not only does my son walk out looking great, but the other men getting haircuts look fantastic, too! I had an appointment at 2:30 for a haircut with Kelsey. I arrived on time (a couple of minutes early) and she was finishing another cut so the receptionist told me to have a seat. Not a problem. After she finished with the cut, I saw Kelsey check in with the receptionist to find out who her next customer was. Instead of pointing me out, the receptionist directed her to a walk-in customer who ended up getting my appointment. I asked the receptionist what was going on and she just gave me a blank stare and offered no solution other than wait. I walked out. I made an appointment for a reason and waiting wasn't an option. I like Kelsey's cuts, but I won't be back after this. Seeing other similar reviews, there's clearly a management problem at this location. read more

I tried a new hair place today and I couldn't be happier. Kendall Coley did the cut and the color and I haven't been this happy with my hair in awhile. About the place: It's set up almost like a sports bar or pub with great music playing, enlarged album covers on the walls and an atmosphere that's fun and edgy. There are about 15 stylist stations around the place with full service cutting, color and the works. I will be going back and telling everyone else to go. read more

I finally decided to graduate from simple haircuts at sports clips to an actual hair style and needed to find a place to have it done. I called for an appointment and they were able to fit me in later that day. I show up and the place seems pretty cool, there are several different stylists and barbers doing all sorts of things. The music is loud but not too loud. I didn't mind. I got lucky and Katelyn J had her 3:30 appointment not show up so she was able to take me. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and discussed with her the details of everything. After everything was figured out she took to cutting my hair. She asked me about things as we went along as well. She was super nice and did an awesome job. Got a shampoo after the cut and she styled it with this Layrite Cement Clay stuff. It sounds extreme, but it was just right. I came back the next day to get some of my own because I liked it so much. I will be back to Floyd's to see Katelyn for my next hair cut. When I arrived, the same receptionist lady told me they couldn't serve me because I'm a woman and it would "take too long" to wash and cut my hair and that I would have to make an appointment for another day. And when I asked her why she told me they accepted walk ins on the phone, she said they did, but that it was too time consuming to help me.
