Recently, I had a pen that busted and leaked blue ink discoloring the pocket and front of a white lab coat. The stain was the size of my hand. I dropped it off expecting to buy another coat. When I returned to pick the coat up the stain was gone and the coat looked new again. The manager knows many of his customers by name and greets each of them. I have been to other dry cleaners and the outcomes have been less than desirable. I have had garments returned torn, burnt, and with broken buttons. The mangers at the other places, for the most part, have not been receptive to compensating me for damage they have wrought. There has only been one event where I needed something redone at this dry cleaner. It was not that big of a deal except I work in a public setting and my attire cannot be rumpled or stained. I took it back and pointed out the infraction. There was no resistance. He apologized and redid the item. That was good customer service. I plan to be a return customer for quite some time. 39/100

NOW: Same shirt $7.10 !!! They told me: "because it was "dress shirt" ?? No notice given of a price increase - So if you read this and are still foolish enough to go there, CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! Also, if you don't pay cash, now they charge you extra for credit card use. Plus, shirts were not ready on date verbally promised, likely due to the difficulty of communicating in English with the new woman at the front desk. "Smart" Care Cleaners is not for "smart" people because you'd have to be an "idiot" to use them. CUSTOMER RESPONSE TO OWNER: Per your obvious ChatGPT written response, now GASLIGHTING can be added to your business practices or customer infractions as I prefer to call it. No employees were harmed in the making of this review, facts were merely stated. The feigned sincerity of customer care and your unfounded exaggeration of a non-existent victimization of your employee are simply feeble attempts to distract from my main point of your running a predatory business. I stand behind every word of my review, using my real name & not hiding behind some pseudonym because I am honestly stating my experience with communication, cost and service. Since you emphasized so sanctimoniously your respect for all mankind, I'm noting some hypocrisy here. There is an obvious lack of integrity evident on the part of someone who takes over a business whose owner had established an excellent reputation for doing business fairly and then ruins it with ridiculously greedy price hikes AND without informing customers of such. It's a bit short sighted indeed when you're outraged by being called out on your scam and it never occurs to you how the customer may see it on the other side of the counter! $7.10 for laundering a cotton, button down shirt (more than double the going rate when I called your competitors) is not a sustainable business model anywhere and especially when there are at least six other dry cleaners within ten minutes of your hidden location who are happy to take the customers you've financially sucker punched.

I took seven men's dress shirts for the regular laundry service, light starch on hangers, and was unpleasantly surprised to find that my (prepaid) total would be over $40, nearly $6 per shirt. When I asked the (rather impatient) owner why the price was so much, she explained that since this was my first visit and my shirts had not be cleaned by them before, an extra thorough cleaning process was needed. This "extra" basically doubled the price per shirt. She added that extra charge without asking me or informing me in any way whatsoever. I think she could see I was about to walk out when she relented and told me I could have the "regular" service if I wanted it. I said yes, at which point she informed me that I needed to pay up front. I paid about $28 and left. I checked with a few other cleaners in the immediate area and the average price I was quoted was under $3 per shirt, usually around $2.50-$2.75. A few days later on a Saturday, I went in to pick up my shirts, arriving at 3:55 pm. The same person greeted me at the door with "We close at 4:00". I looked at my watch, it was 3:56 pm. I asked if she wanted me to come back another day. I walked inside and was immediately greeted by the most foul stench you can imagine. I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, but I had to wait while she finished her phone call. Eventually she got off the phone and reluctantly took my ticket and retrieved my shirts. After she got off the phone it only took about 30 seconds to get my shirts, but apparently this was too much trouble for her, and she acted like she didn't want to do it. I told her that I checked a few other places and the prices I was quoted. She said to me, "Then you better go there." As I wrote, I wanted to give this place a try. I'm sorry I did.

True of probably all dry cleaners, know that the cleaners states up front that there is no guarantee that stains will come out. Customers are still expected to pay in full for the service whether or not stains are removed. My only 'tift' occurred when I arrived to pick up the dress. The shop owner wouldn't bring out my item until after my credit card was successfully billed. I paid for the service before I even saw the clothing item. What would have I done if the service misplaced my item or if there had been further damage? It made me uncomfortable paying for service before I could see that the store still had my item and that there was no further damage, rips, tears, etc. They expect a lot to be taken on good faith. But in today's society I find that 'good faith' is often in short supply. Conveniently located in the Chevron/Dominoes shopping strip, I will be returning should my clothes encounter another mishap.
