I recently purchased flowers for my Daughter's 16th birthday through the "Flower's By Jerri" web site, which features arrangements and bouquets from Teleflora. I was pleased to see that they featured these arrangements since I have ordered through the Teleflora network before and have had very good results regarding quality and uniformity. Since I do not live locally and there were no businesses with any positive reviews on Yelp, this was my only way of attempting to order a quality product in a blind situation. All flowers are important, but these flowers were very important to me since contact with my Daughter has been few and far between for years. These are in my opinion, a representation of myself and if they look bad or good, then so do I. So after taking the time to pick an arrangement (actually debated overnight) and ordering it online with all of the information two days ahead of time, I thought I was all good to go.
Below you will see the arrangement I ordered from the web page (Teleflora's Joyful Jubilee) and then you will also see the arrangement that showed up! Now, I'm really not one to be ungrateful, complain, or nit pick, but... Does that look like I got what I paid for? I received a photo from my other Daughter of these flowers. I heard that they were liked by my Daughter with the birthday, but never got any type of response from her personally. It took me a few days to finally call the flower shop to complain. When I did, I had a lengthy conversation with the florist and she tried to explain to me how they were out of all of the types of flowers it took to make the arrangement I wanted, etc, etc. I told her I figured that was the case since I already read on their site that they might substitute flowers that are out of season, but this is June 22nd! She basically blamed her supplier, and said she did the best she could with the flowers she had and thought that the arrangement was fine. I told her that my problems were this: 1. The product advertised and the product delivered look totally different (the one being delivered looking cheaper and sparse of flowers) 2. If you are unable to make a certain bouquet or arrangement, why is it an available option on the web site? 3. You had ample time but did not call me or email me to ask if I had a second choice (which I did) or at least inform me of the difficulties. 4. I can understand if you are out of one type of flower, but you were basically out of every single type and color. How is that even possible?
Well, I will say that the florist was nice and willing to accept responsibility for her mistakes by offering to send a new bouquet out. I told her that would not be necessary and would only draw attention to the fact for my Daughter that I wasn't happy with the first one, and probably make me look worse. She offered to credit my account and I told her that would be nice and she was welcome to do whatever she chose to do at her own discretion. I told her I wasn't complaining for that reason so she could decide the amount. Ultimately she credited me back $20 out of the $70 which is basically what it costs for tax and delivery. I'm sure this is a nice flower shop if you live locally. Online orders, you'd better pick up the phone and be very specific and make sure they have what you want before you click "purchase". read more
