Maybe this is not what they usually do , just caught on bad day but still each customer can only go by their own experience and when you are paying that kind of money you expect a nice bouquet. She deconstructed the flowers to build boutonnières for the groomsmen and bridesmaids, and they all turned out beautifully. We don't live in Iowa, so we sent her pictures of the flowers we wanted her to use and talked about different size options over the phone. She was lovely to work with, very responsive over email, and we really appreciated her talents. As venue host of a large wedding reception at our home, I would be hesitant to recommend Wildflower as your best solution. So, this review is for those who may be having a non-turnkey event. From the beginning there were numerous opportunities and challenges related to welcoming two hundred people to a large property with an upper poolside reception area and a lower area for tenting. Execution with excellence would require experience, detailed planning and good judgment. Wildflower did not step up to earn a five-star review. There were failures in execution. A stairway between the pool and tent was identified as a safety concern. Wildflower agreed to provide a person to guide guests but did not fully staff the area. One guest went head over heels. For some unexplained reason, the Garden Room entry where all guests would pass to the poolside was simply unready and unattended as guests arrived. We as hosts had to wipe up water spills, sweep away leaves and flower debris and place a garden flower arrangement on the table. The tent floor in one area was so slanted that dishes and glassware tumbled during dinner. One guest reported he had to place his plate in his lap to eat. And when the rain came, there was no sign of preparation or preplanning to attend to a floor that started to become a slipping hazard. There were disappointments where responsibility may be shared. Removing a second bar from the reception area leading to an unacceptable long line. The first guest comment to this host. "Too bad about the line." The last-minute cutting of balcony decorations for a "money shot" of the bride and groom. A balloon display that fizzled in the wind. A budget the blew up. One-time events in locations that are not regular event venues are, admittedly, difficult. Those considering this vendor should take special care to confirm every detail of planning and execution.

Florist Paul was great and helped me on the phone and knew exactly what I wanted from my description. He assured me they would be special and delivered on time even though there was a blizzard coming their way. I didn't hear from my daughter on the delivery day and I called the floral dept. the next day to find out what happened. The security guard at her work sent them back to the other location where she use to work. Hy-Vee went out of their way to correct the issue even though they were not responsible. I spoke with florist Amy several times and she was so nice and very helpful. The beautiful arrangement was delivered within hours to my daughter. The service is above 5 stars and the arrangement was very nice. I'll definitely use them again.

A floral arrangement that costs $50 should last longer than 2-3 days!. The store gave me a $20 credit stating that roses only live 2-3 days. In my experience that has not been the case. This is twice now we have had bad luck with Hy-Vee floral. We thought maybe trying a different location would help. It did not. No more Hy-Vee floral for us. Very disappointed.

When you open the door, you meet a perfectly delightful and friendly shop owner. There is a wonderful variety of merchandise that would please a diverse array of shoppers....jewelry, clothing, kitchen items, large assortment of beautiful French tablecloths, home decor and much more. I bought two great necklaces made from Tagua seeds from Ecuador. I just love them and have received many compliments when I wear them. They are so attractive and unique. I also purchased a gorgeous rectangular French tablecloth in blues and yellows and some cute kitchen towels. In my shopping I also acquired a stylish top with a lacy edge and a fishnet type top to go with it. The shopkeeper also has many artistic wind chimes for your patio. Mine has a metallic dragonfly and colorful beads. If you can't make it to her shop, she also has a stall at the awesome Des Moines Farmers Market every Saturday for 6 months of the year. That's another thing that you should definitely experience! What a great little shop, full of such interesting things! Wish it was in my city!
