Wildflower - Mr. & Mrs. with my Flower crown!! - Floral Designers Near Me - Des Moines, Iowa

If you are shopping for an event coordinator who can sell you flowers, secure catering and entertainment and give support to the Bride and Groom - all in an established venue -Wildflower may fit the bill. As venue host of a large wedding reception at our home, I would be hesitant to recommend Wildflower as your best solution. So, this review is for those who may be having a non-turnkey event. From the beginning there were numerous opportunities and challenges related to welcoming two hundred people to a large property with an upper poolside reception area and a lower area for tenting. Execution with excellence would require experience, detailed planning and good judgment. Wildflower did not step up to earn a five-star review. There were failures in execution. A stairway between the pool and tent was identified as a safety concern. Wildflower agreed to provide a person to guide guests but did not fully staff the area. One guest went head over heels. For some unexplained reason, the Garden Room entry where all guests would pass to the poolside was simply unready and unattended as guests arrived. We as hosts had to wipe up water spills, sweep away leaves and flower debris and place a garden flower arrangement on the table. The tent floor in one area was so slanted that dishes and glassware tumbled during dinner. One guest reported he had to place his plate in his lap to eat. And when the rain came, there was no sign of preparation or preplanning to attend to a floor that started to become a slipping hazard. There were disappointments where responsibility may be shared. Removing a second bar from the reception area leading to an unacceptable long line. The first guest comment to this host. "Too bad about the line." The last-minute cutting of balcony decorations for a "money shot" of the bride and groom. A balloon display that fizzled in the wind. A budget the blew up. One-time events in locations that are not regular event venues are, admittedly, difficult. Those considering this vendor should take special care to confirm every detail of planning and execution. read more

I ordered The Indiana for a friend that lives in Des Moines online after reading some good reviews about Wildflower. They have a GREAT selection to pick from. The website is beautiful and easy to order from if you are out of town (I live in Seattle). Right after I placed my ordered online I got a confirmation, which was nice. My friend got her flowers on the day I requested to have them delivered. I got a text from my friend and she said, and I quote "These are sooooo beautiful! Honestly these are so gorgeous. I was like "Damn!' out loud when I saw them." Thank you Wildflower! Your selection and website are wonderful & you make ordering flowers for a non-local easy. My friend LOVED the arrangement, well done!!! Support local merchants and get your flowers from Wildflower. read more

Wildflower made my biggest floral dreams come true for my wedding. Maya was amazing to work with. When I had no great example of my vision and could only describe it to her, she ran with it and created it exactly how I imagined - and she worked with my budget which was very much appreciated! Aside from my wedding, what I love about the Wildflower shop is that they carry trendy, hip floral that other flower shops around Des Moines don't typically have in stock. Would recommend to anyone looking for beautiful blooms. Thank you so much for helping make our day perfect. read more

I ordered a small bouquet from out of state and picked designers choice. They did an outstanding job with the arrangement. I even accidentally gave the wrong address but they went out of their way to find the correct address and get it to the recipient. Thank y'all for being so accommodating! read more

Maya and her team were fantastic to work with. They are not a normal flower shop, but a fun and hip flower shop. I don't live in Des Moines but have a client who opened a new office. I explained the building they had just moved into and it's esthetic (she already knew it because she does a standing delivery there) and they delivered a beautiful piece exactly when I requested. I highly recommend Wildflower. read more

I went to Wildflower for my wedding floral needs and it was EXACTLY what I hoped for!! It was truly as if my flowers were what I would save for "wedding inspo" photos and everyone gushed over them. I showed them photos I liked and that I wanted a true wildflower look with some pastels. Alex created a portfolio of example and idea photos based off of that and walked me through the prices of everything. He was great at answering and responding even when I called him out of the blue. We pinned down which flowers I definitely wanted, which ones I definitely didn't, what bouquet shape I wanted, and then they played with the rest to create a gorgeous image for me. I had vases I wanted them to use and they were great about using those and getting there the morning of to set up the vases and arch, even with a 5k and the farmers market blocking most of the streets! A few days before I wanted a better idea of what everything would look like. They showed me the flowers they had written down to use in my bouquet and they were totally fine with me taking one type out I didn't want. We also drew out my arch so it would be exactly as I wanted, as this was what I was really excited for, and Franklin talked through the pros and cons of different floral garland types. I was so thankful for the transparent pricing, the friendly Wildflower dream, and the perfect bouquet I couldn't have imagined better myself. These are just phone cameras so they don't do as much justice - so go see them in person!! read more

Maya and team thank you for always putting your heart into everything you do. The wedding planning was a blast, the florals were stunning but your attention to detail is unsurpassed. Love, love, love Wildflower! read more

Maya and her team are fab! I've ordered online during COVID and have been so happy with my candles. They came packaged so cute and personalized. I ordered a flower arrangement for my mom for Mother's Day, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The products they provide are top notch and she's always on the ball. Love that you can order online! Definitely the best floral shop in Des Moines! read more

I've used Maya twice now and each time I was disappointed. I gave her a second chance and the flowers looked wilted. She charges a lot of money so you would expect to actually get decent flowers when you use her. TI would recommend checking out some of the other florists in town that are a much more reasonable price and you get far better quality. read more
