Abbotts Construction

My experience with Abbot Construction customer relations was extremely disappointing. Communication…read morewas poor, responses were slow, and when we did receive replies, they were often unhelpful or dismissive. For a company that operates in a service-driven industry, the lack of professionalism and accountability was surprising. Instead of working toward resolving concerns, the process felt frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. Basic follow-up and customer care seemed to be lacking, which made what should have been a straightforward interaction much more stressful than it needed to be. Customer service is a major part of any construction project, and unfortunately my experience with Abbot Construction's customer relations fell well below expectations. I hope they take steps to improve how they communicate with and support their clients going forward.

We had our septic drain field replace, somewhat a nice job except that the workers tore off one of…read moreour newly planted trees. I had reported this to Walt in a text, his response was if I wanted it replanted. The issue here was the spot where the tree was, there was no reason for it to be removed. After the job was done Walt mentioned that according to the proposal, if it was in the area of the drainage, it would be removed. The damn tree was 6 feet away from the digging area. I had 2 other trees in the same area and nothing was done to them. The workers decided to rip the tree out and take the route of the ditch versus the road in front where it was completely clear. The sad part is there were no apologies what so ever or reimbursement ($250.00) for the tree. I should have gone with Martin Septic.

I'm never really thrilled to have to spend 1000s of dollars on home maintenance, especially when…read morethe services provided leave a LOT to be desired. People show up to give an estimate and never provide a quote; or worse, provide a quote and then try to increase the price after-the-fact. But THIS job went better than expected on just about every level. So a huge shout-out and thank you to Lamb Tree Care Service, because I cannot say enough good things about this company. They were a very late addition to the list of tree companies I contacted to get an estimate to have 11 large oaks trimmed; and two others completely removed. The owner, Paul Lamb showed up and we walked the property; he provided a verbal quote right off the top of his head, and I told him that it was a great quote but I'd need it in writing - - he said that one would be coming no later than the following day, and when I checked my e-mail barely an hour later, and I had a VERY detailed, itemized statement, complete with notes about certain parts of the project. It was not only the care they took to be professional about the quoting process, it didn't hurt that the price was significantly better than the others I'd received. Also, a couple of companies told me that the job would take at least three and possibly four days. Lamb said it would be done in a day and a half at most. I called the company to approve the job, and heard from the office shortly thereafter to set up the work date. James, the crew foreman, arrived Wednesday morning right on time, and we walked the property to be sure that nothing was lost in translation. Not long thereafter, his crew of two showed up with the big equipment, and for the next 7 hours or so, they tackled this huge job without any hiccups whatsoever. They even blew the leaves off of our roof. It didn't take four days or three or even a day and a half. They were done in a single day. So now we no longer have an enormous oak, dangerously leaning over our driveway (it was pushed to a very concerning angle during Hurricanes Ian and Idalia), and the large branches that loomed over our pool cage, fence, and even the next-door neighbor's house have been removed. If you have any tree trimming work that needs to be done, contact these guys at 941-377-3333; they're fantastic.
