In addition, the quote included lumber supplies and repairs that they claimed were not needed so the job was finished in under 3 hours when we'd expected it would take a full day. The salesman refused to reduce my bill accordingly. So I ended up paying quite a bit more than I should have. Not cool.

Two of the other higher estimates were using 15 lbs felt and then the shingles. Roofs for life used a watertight peal-n-stick underlayment which I was unfamiliar with. I checked it out and it got totally great reviews as being better than felt. It was put on the same day, along with a new skylight, as the old roof was removed and from that point on my roof was watertight. 30 year shingles were then put on the next day. Sun Tek without any inspection denied responsibility for the failure saying it was an "act of God". The crack was on the interior panel so no weather issues were involved.
