I wrote a response to Paulo's response to my original review but it went through as a message and not a response so I'm not sure this is going to work. In response to his response: We hired you to do kitchen and bathroom renovation and paint, "basic renovation" is a relative term. We never misinformed you of our time frame, what we did tell you was please start with the upstairs and have it done in time so when we do move in, it's already done which you ensured would not be a problem. You chose to NOT do the upstairs first. The very first thing we asked you to do was paint the bedrooms and you waited until the day we moved in, let me just make that clear. You had plenty of time to work with an empty house to get certain things done but your order of operations was horrendous. Before we purchased the IKEA vanities we asked you multiple times if you knew how to do the plumbing and over and over you said yes yes yes. You did the plumbing and then we had to cut the drawer in order for it to close. You also didn't use a P-Trap so the sewage smell kept coming through the drains. Saying you were hired for a simple wall paint and kitchen counter-top is a blatant lie and I still have the itemized quote you provided for the whole job. We never changed anything or added anything, we couldn't wait for you to get out. We would have hired someone else to do additional things. We would never ask for anything for free. A shower door install comes with a bathroom renovation and we discussed that. When you realized you weren't capable of installing the shower door is when it became an issue and then referred us some Joe Schmo who put it on backward and scratched the track. The only reason you had to cover or move any furniture was because you didn't paint the bedrooms the very first day. We also didn't order any new furniture or have you assemble a bed. My husband took apart the bed from our previous residence and assembled it himself. He is also OCD and would never let anyone touch our bed. Also, although you said you would build the IKEA vanities, as soon as you took it out of the box you panicked and said this will cost extra so my husband did it. So another lie. Now you claim we didn't thank you? We thanked you when necessary but how about when we let one of your workers sleep in our house and do laundry before we moved in. Was that not very nice? No thank you there from anyone if you want to go tit for tat. Anyway, just needed to get the facts straight. read more

Granite installing nightmare - do not use this company Florida Granite came to install granite countertops in my kitchen, and destroyed my house in the process. I recently moved to a new home and am in the process of extensive renovations, including a brand new kitchen and flooring. When Marco and his crew were installing the countertops, they scratched a whole bunch of my brand new cabinet doors. But that's nothing compared to what happened next. I knew Marco was going to cut the sink hole on site, but I did not know he was going to do it in my newly renovated home. During cutting, their tiny raggedy shop vac broke and filled my entire first floor with dust. So I was helping them with my own shop vac when I suddenly hear a loud "BOOM." These guys apparently did not secure the bottom of the granite they were cutting out and it fell onto my kitchen sink pipes, breaking off the valve. There was water gushing everywhere. By the time I turned off the main water valve to the house, the damage had already been done; water all over my brand new kitchen as well as under the brand new flooring in the adjacent family room. When I showed the flooring to the installers, Marco's wife replied "well, whoever built this wall did a terrible job. Water shouldn't be leaking through walls." I was dumbfounded. I didn't know Miami-Dade buildings had waterproof walls (you are probably wondering why Marco's wife was there. I was wondering the same thing, and later found out that she doesn't even work for the company. Apparently she tags along and make wise-ass comments to piss off customers). Anyway, so Marco calls one of his "buddy" plumber friend who comes by to fix the broken valve. I don't even know this person and whether he is a real plumber, but at this point I don't have many alternatives. So after all the dust settles (literally and figuratively), the installers are hanging around smoking cigarettes in my driveway and have the audacity to ask for the full remaining balance. When I refuse, they get their boss, Paulo Barboza, on the phone who agrees to come next morning to assess the damages. The next morning, I show Paulo the damages and ask him to replace the cabinet doors and the flooring in the flooded area (plus labor), but he refuses to replace the flooring saying that they look fine to him and threatens to put a lien on my house. Unbelievable. They flood my home and then threaten to sue me. Please heed my warning and stay away from this company. I was lured by the positive reviews online, but now I am convinced that they are fake reviews. They cannot be talking about the same company that destroyed my house. read more

Paolo was fantastic. I contacted him after doing an online search for granite repairs. He stayed in contact with me. Immediately he asked me to send a picture of my damages. He responded everytime through text. He gave me an appointment, but notified me the day before that he would ve late. He arrived 30 minutes early and seemed very knowledgeable. He noticed some other things around my sink and fix those as well. He was very nice and friendly. I personally, had a great experience. read more

If one wonders why a business fails, it is usually due to the owner's lack of professionalism. I was instructed by Paolo to visit his shop to pick out the slab of marble for my project. His most helpful staff, Augustin, helped me select the piece we needed. Augustin called Paolo with the dimensions and got us a quote. I was told the delivery date and time. I was pleasantly surprised how easily the transaction went. Augustin didn't even want a deposit. That is trust and service or so I thought. That is until the day they were suppose to deliver the goods. The excuses and lies begin. Finally Paolo told us that he will deliver the marble countertop the next day and got my number to make the necessary arrangements. Not failing to disappoint me, he texted the next day to say that the marble slab that was available when I went suddenly wasn't and I was to go back and select another piece. I couldn't do business with someone like that. Could anyone if they knew the truth? My project might be too small but I told him upfront what I needed. I suggest the courtesy of telling me the truth if he wasn't interested. It would save me lots of time and his company this bad review. read more

Negative 10 rating would be more appropriate. - called this company on a Tuesday needing work completed that week - He quoted $1,650 labor to polish four granite pieces, install sinks, (cut 2 holes) then install in baths - He quoted $1,400 labor kitchen floor tiling (replace 6 tiles, install a few tile odds/ends another contractor didn't finish). - He also quoted a couple grouting projects. - I provided ALL materials - He committed to end of day Friday completion for everything stating "no problem, my crew will be here tomorrow morning 9am - I accepted all prices since he committed to completion of everything by end of day Friday. (never negotiated his price feeling if he received his price he'd meet the committed deadline. - I signed an agreement - He returned hours later with another guy to "prep for next day"... advised he would need to charge "just a little more" for kitchen floor....and for some of the grouting (doubled those prices), and now the bathroom vanity plumbing he'd have to charge $90 per vanity - That evening he emailed price updates $1k+ higher than verbal price increases (which were higher than contract prices) and didn't list several work details they were doing (for example, his description was "grout master shower walls" meanwhile his crew was to grout master floor, vanity wall and shower walls). Pay attention here folks, I'm learning this is how the art of conning somebody happens. - Next morning, Wednesday, he revised the description of work to be accurate but defended increased prices (such as price to do plumbing on each bathroom vanity from included, to $90 per vanity, to $140 per vanity). - Again, I complied because I had family coming and needed the work done Friday and he was adamant Friday it would ALL be done. - I discovered he removed the bathroom vanity granite pieces from the property - even though we agreed it would be fabricated on site. Removed it without my permission from the property. - His guys were supposed to show up later that afternoon to start work since I delayed them from that morning to call foul on his pricing increases, but never did they show up. End of Wednesday I called him yet again and he said "tomorrow 9am". - Thursday 9am nobody, but instead they showed up at 11:14am. - They were supposed to start with grouting master bath so the room could be usable but due to confusion with their boss they started kitchen floor tiling. - Thursday - no bathroom vanities. He says "tomorrow for sure". - Friday morning I follow up as no bathroom vanities and he says "this afternoon install, plumbing tomorrow". - I cut him loose on bath granite and since fabrication hadn't started I advised him to return the granite he removed from the property without permission and I'd find somebody else. - His guys onsite doing kitchen floor confirmed vanities were not yet started Friday morning and had been taken to their shop...and just earlier they sent confirmation to him on measurements to get ready to work on them. I told them again to return granite and do no work. - Friday evening I inquired on return of granite and he said "tomorrow noon". - He showed up the next day, Saturday, at 1:12pm (not noon) and insisted either he installs granite or I pay him in full and he leaves them in the yard (which I could see they had been fabricated AFTER they were told twice to not fabricate). Even more ridiculous, it was his intent to pull the guys off kitchen floor tiling project and have them do bathroom vanity and plumbing work (it's Saturday - a day behind deadline)...which would've pushed project completions to Tuesday (still no grout done anywhere). - Trying to speak or correspond with him went nowhere but in circles. - Now he holds the granite hostage threatening a lien on the house if no payment in full, for work not completed! - Finally I've shut off this guy; delays are one matter but unwarranted, escalating, price increases combined with beligerent tactics are another. Not to mention unauthorized charges on my credit card. - If you want to be shaken down, extorted & have extra money to burn, immediately hire him!! On the contrary, if you work hard for a living, appreciate professional and honest people then don't even think about calling this guy. read more

My experience was sensational. I was exhausted searching for a good service and price until I met Florida Granite. Paulo helped me to choose the right stone and had a lot of patience with my teenager kids. Paulo and his crew were professional, friendly and caring. I purchased my granite from a yard listed on their website. The transactions went extremely well. The owner of Fl. Granite, Paulo, came to my home to do measurements and quotes for fabrication and installation after hours due to my work schedule and my tight time frame for needing the project completed. I communicated him freqently (maybe too frequently...possibly on an annoying level) for updates and to make sure everything was going as planned. On installation, it was determined we did not purchase enough material for the backsplash I wanted, since it was elaborate. He told me if I found the material he would still keep with our original contract and do the fabrication for the original and expected project. I was expecting some sort of additional problems or fee's, but the only additional cost was delivery and materials...which is expected. Overall, for him to handle a business and a very persistant customer...I would say he is doing a great job. His installers were very precise and ensured the job was done right. They made adjustments based on our crooked Florida plastered walls and ensured that measurements were taken for the fabrication of the backsplash. I have no complaints. I would use them again. I would recommend them and their affiliate granite yards to anyone. read more
