Hands on Miami has been an amazing discovery for me…read more I have been a regular volunteer since January- giving me plenty opportunities to get involved with the community. But while i have always had a desire to volunteer and get involved, i also had a fear of the commitment entailed and the complications that might arise out of my already busy schedule. What is so perfect about Hands On is that it's a flexible volunteering model with no long term commitments, no background checks, no frills or complicated processes. I simply went on the site, found an activity of interest, which to me was working with teens and/or kids and signed up for a specific date. I've been hooked ever since- volunteering my time every month at Miami Bridge- an emergency youth shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned teens ages 10 to 17 and I love it. Every activity is assigned a project leader who takes responsibility for the group and can be a resource on that day for help with directions, etc... I can honestly say it's been a wonderful resource for me in finding ways to get involved and make a difference. Definitely check them out at handsonmiami.org and sign up for an event.

It does not matter how old your are or what you like to do, there is something for everyone @ HOM that wants to give back to their community. There are projects just on the weekend, weekday days and evenings, just for kids, just for adults, for the whole family to join too. So really time can't be an excuse! There is an hour orientation that you participate is that gives you all the info you need to get started. You can check out their website(http://www.handsonmiami.org) for the next one. The people @ HOM are top notch too. Really friendly and go out of their way to help you every step of the way. Definitely worth checking if you want to get involved in your community!!!

I paid $6,000 for maternity care and only attended three appointments before deciding to transfer to another provider. After leaving, I requested a refund minus the cost of the care I actually received, which I felt was a reasonable request. Initially, I was offered only a $1,000 refund, which I did not feel reflected the limited services that were provided. After nearly two years of back-and-forth communication trying to resolve the situation, Galina eventually agreed to refund $3,000. However, despite that agreement, the refund was never actually provided. Over the course of this process I repeatedly followed up politely by email asking for updates or a timeline, but the situation was never resolved. Meanwhile, I had to seek care elsewhere and even pay out of pocket for emergency care through another provider. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating. I paid $6,000 and after months of trying to resolve things respectfully, I was left without the agreed refund and with very little care provided.

Who knew installing infant/child car seats were so complex! Over the span of 3 days, my class learned the different variations of car seats, seat belts, and recommendations for car seat safety. It was a very hands-on class, and I was definitely exhausted after its completion! The location itself was easy to get too, and the room was perfectly set up for a class of 10. It did get a bit chilly though due to the cold front we had. That would probably be my only complaint. Otherwise it was clean, and a good set up. We also had a good amount of space in the parking lot to practice the car seat installations. Fortunately it is not a very active lot, and were not disturbed by many cars. I would definitely take another training here if needed!

We got there earlier than her so we were sure we were going to get it. But as soon as we were going to adopt her, the lady in the front said she's not available because someone adopted it. Then, I saw the old lady that wanted the kitten to, smiling at my daughter as she was tearing up. And she took the free toys my daughter wanted for that cat. Yes, it's not their fault this happened but I wish people were nicer. My daughter was very sad and an old lady was smiling at that. Crazy! But then we came 2-3 days later and got an amazing cat named "Ellie" she's the best cat we could ask for. Perfect for my kids that's are super active. Things I love about this place: - They let you get 3 free items for the cat. It can be anything that's there. Amazing! - You also get a carrier for the cat to bring home. - Staff is super helpful and nice.
