Flordia Cactus has been on my list to visit for a long time now and I finally had a chance to visit. I went on a Friday afternoon, they do close earlier on Fridays now at 3pm. You have to walk to the back from parking to the blue building to the office check in. They will give you paper with their pricing list and you can grab a box to put your plants in. I have to say I wasn't expecting this place to be as big as it was but there are about 20 different rooms full of cacti, succulents and other plants. They have a few people that work there wandering some of the rooms that will help you with any questions. Definitely wear something comfortable, because it can get heck of hot in there when looking at the plants. Prices are reasonable and they offer some specials like bogo on small succulents and 50% some plants. Definitely worth a visit to find some unique plants that are hard to find locally! read more

About 30 minutes + from Orlando in Apopka Florida is where you can find this gem, Florida Cactus nursery. Filled with multiple greenhouses to meander through with so many Cacti & Succulents to choose from. Prices are for the most part by pot size. Some are higher but are listed in good detail in the information pamphlet provided at the office, where you start your cacti heaven journey. Prices range from $2.10 - $225.00. From tiny cactuses and succulent to very large options. There's also pots to choose from. Note that during the summer months, the greenhouses can get very hot. Dress up appropriately! Cards are excepted for payment. Hours listed online say Monday to Friday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. Though I called before hand on Friday and they let me know they were closing at 3pm that day. So maybe worth a call before you make the drive. I could have walked through these greenhouses all day and looked at all the unique cactus and succulents. I chose a handful to take home... I asked for recommendations on where to get decent succulents and cactus on Facebook, and several friends recommended Florida Cactus. This nursery is easy to find via GPS, and is down a dirt road. There are multiple greenhouses that are massive and numbered for your convenience. Check in at the office, where they have social distancing signs on the floor and walls, and will give you instructions and a map on where the different plants are and how to find the prices. They have trays available for you to place your plants on, and there was even a space in one of the first greenhouses where you can leave your tray and tape around it to notify others it's claimed, so it's easier for you to shop. The trays will get hard to carry after a while! They have a wide variety of cactus and succulents, and offer retail and wholesale pricing. Check out was easy, and they even had marked "clean" and "used" pens for signing credits cards to help minimize spreading germs. I was pleased with my lot and the pricing, and will definitely be back here again with friends and family. read more

The prices were low so you can buy plenty. I bought 7 (6 baby succulents and 1 larger succulent) and after taxes, it was under $12. Definitely planning on returning! Ok. I had seen this place online and here on yelp 1000 times. And I wanted to go soooo bad! But... it never worked with my work schedule. Well. I finally made it. And I am so glad I did! Such a great place! Couple tips. You are going to drive down a long dirt road. It's basically one way. If you see a car coming pull to the side. Second, make sure you check in. Look around and you will see signs directing you to an inside area. Inside, there are baskets and a price list. When you checkout, they have an area to put your treasures into a tray to bring them home. They only accept cards on purchases over $10.00. I will go back when I have the chance! read more

They have a assive collection of succulents and cactus plants for you to choose from. When I went, there were a large amount of items that were ribboned off (Which means they are unavailable for sale). I spent more time lookin for unribboned products than the actual plants. I wouldn't say the staff was very friendly. I went to check into the office (what the sign says to do) and nobody came to the counter to help me, so I just continued shopping on my own. As I passed employees in each room, they did not acknowedge me or say hello, which is strange for Florida standards. Overall, a great selection and very affordable prices. read more

This place is a cactus lovers garden of Eden! It is difficult to find a bit since it's near this construction site, but if you give them a call they'll direct you. The price range for these are by sizes so smaller the cactus, cheaper it is. They'll also have these colored tapped sections off since those are already bought or reserved, but not to worry, there are about 10+ green houses full of different plants to love on! The hard part for me was bringing it back home since I got a mixture of them small-large. Come to this place if you want to add some decor and friends in your garden ! read more

This place is as awesome as it looks. Every kind, color and size cactus are here! They also have succulents and some other tree type plants. From small ($3) pots to giant cacti, this place had it all. The workers here are super friendly and are willing to help you understand how to care for your new plants. Try any of the 5-6 greenhouses which have aisles and aisles of choices. Stay away from the rooed off plants as those are already accounted for. A huge variety of cacti and succulents but it seemed like 80% of the stock they had was reserved or already purchased. Was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to shop their entire selection but I still left with 7-8 beauties. I started to repot then when I got home and the root growth was honestly pretty bad. The roots were so overgrown that they were growing out the top of the soil and wrapping multiple times around the perimeter of the soil. Overall, Florida Cactus is very large with a good selection. It's a shame that I wasn't able to get the full experience because most of the sections were blocked off and the plants seem like they need a little more TLC. Not sure if I will return but if I do, hopefully they have more to look at. read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I found this place online randomly and one day later I drove the two hours up to Apopka for a visit and I'm so glad I did! I've never done anything like this before so it was a real treat. I got a variety of 12 different plants I usually always just go to Walmart for plants but omg never again. The succulents and cacti at this location are sooooo affordable and so well taken care of compared to any other ones I ever bought. The workers are sooo sweet and friendly. They were super helpful when my aunt was looking for a specific Aloe plant. Anyways when you first get there you have to go down a very narrow sandy road that only fits one car at a time so if you have a truck it may be easier to take that (just a tip) because I was nervous my little Toyota would get stuck then you head to the office and they explain the pricing and give you a map of the 19 greenhouses you can visit. Once you're done checking in at the office you grab a basket and search for your new plants Not gonna lie this place can get hot quick so dress super light. If you plan on browsing for a while it would be a good idea to bring a water We went at noon on a cloudy day and it was still pretty warm. At the end of your trip you go back to the office to pay. The cheapest plant I got was $1.25 and the most expensive was $4. Overall I think the price for the quality of these plants are excellent. There are several greenhouses filled with rows and rows of succulents and cacti. The choices are endless. They have option in small pots and large pots. The'll actually give you a map and a pricing guide when you check in at the office. Someone else suggested water and light clothing. Yep, it was hotter and more humid in the greenhouses since that's what the plants like. Just know you may sweat and bring water. We walked around several massive covered areas and were able to freely browse/shop thousands and thousands of cactus plants. They have a wide variety of different species, even lithops! We filled a small box of succulents and cacti. They have rows upon rows upon rows to choose from. You can even see them growing them from tiny ones. All of them are in greenhouses and as to be expected,they are warm. Be smart about clothing, especially in the summer. It was drizzling a bit but they have a covered pathway to get to each area. Absolutely beautiful nursery! I walked through all the greenhouses (there are at least 8 of them which are huge!) and I never got bored! When you first arrive, there is a sand road and signs that point to where the building is. There's a big warehouse where gardeners are working, and then there are a few others working in the greenhouses, planting and filling orders I presume. I was greeted by a friendly man who asked if I was with a business or personal, and I told him personal. There are different price sheets so that's why they ask. The price sheet (for the day I went, which was 26 Mar 2014, not sure if they change their prices often) listed prices for grafted cacti, regular cacti & succulents, lithops, and dish gardens, as well as bags of potting soil. The prices are determined by the diameter of the tops of the pot, and they provide a nifty little ruler on the price list as well as tips and a map. Grafted cacti went for $3.50-$4.50. Regular cacti and succulents ranged from $2.00-$25.00 and up. Lithops were only $2.00, and their beautiful dish gardens ranged from $7.50 for a 4", to $20.00 for a 12". The smallest pots were the cheapest, and the prices went up as you went larger. They also sold seed trays, and you had to ask for the prices. Also, in the first greenhouse, they had an area of 1" pots which went for cheaper than $2.00. I suggest looking there as well! The gardeners in the greenhouses were very nice, and they let you browse without bothering you. The smell is a musty fresh scent, but that's normal for a greenhouse. They also sold terra cotta pots, smaller ones which were about 4" maybe, sold for $1, and the larger ones, which were about 7" or so went for $1.50. I bought about eight plants and two pots all for $21. What a great deal! I would love to come back again! Thanks Florida Cactus! read more

Straight forward, I have a black thumb. I kill plants like it's not only my day job, but a day job I get paid well for and enjoy (aka I suck at keeping them alive). So perfect com-plant-ion for my naturally maturing self is the beautiful cactus. Florida Cactus is every cactus and succulent lovers dream. Honestly, if you love the garden section of Home Depot then your heart will implode stepping foot here. Don't let outward appearance stop you. You have to follow this semi-sketchy dirt road and pass a lot of empty green houses and if you're creative you might just find yourself imaging a super intense post apocalyptic zombie scene going down here. Keep going. Once you arrive to your destination it's so aesthetically pleasing, even the most closeted of hipsters quietly snap their fingers with glee. They have such a wide assortment of cacti and succulents, it's really such a fun place to explore. It's family owned and the people are sincere and lovely. These are people who deserve your money. Tip: when visiting, prepare to get hot. Because it's set up and as long aisles of greenhouses and the. humidity.is.real. Of course, cooler seasons might produce better temperature results. Another tip: be super kind to the workers. They are good people who are doing their jobs and I imagine they want to roll their eyes at all the cold-brew fueled hooligans standing dramatically next to their brilliantly colored beautiful. For the sake of a good pun, don't be a prick. This place is worth the visit and bring money, you're gonna wanna drop some green to get some green. read more

My friend actually found this place and took me here. It's a bit out of the way from where I live but it worth going too. I've recently become obsessed with succulents and indoor plants. So I don't mind making the drive. They have so many different succulents and cacti here in so many different sizes. They are also sold at a great price. The entrance to this place can scare you off a little because you have to go done a one way dirt road which doesn't seem like it should be a road. But once you go down the parking will come up on your left. Make sure to go to the office first because that's where you'll get a shopping basket and a paper with the prices, tent numbers and a ruler to measure the plants. read more

The mother-ship of succulents and cacti! If you are into these don't hesitate to go. It looked pretty iffy when google sent us down a sketchy dirt road but we kept going. Sure glad we did! There are 4 or 5 large greenhouses full of a wide variety from tiny succulents to 5 ft tall cacti. It's a commercial nursery so they aren't going to hold your hand. I was really excited to go to Florida cactus with family on my way home from a trip but it wasn't anything like what I saw online from videos and pictures, Most of the items were taped off (all of the good plants) because they were sold out and when I asked if they had any that were not shown they said they had one left but it was $150 and most of the green houses were pretty empty and smaller then they looked in photos. Many of the staff also were not wearing masks. The prices were good though. I ended up going with one thing. Do not go to Florida cactus if looking for specific plants. read more

Parking is confusing but if you follow the large Trump flag, you'll find your way..pricing and the map were easy to understand but we lost track of time easily & were told it was closing time.
