Great experience, will definitely return! Service and staff were amazing. Drinks were delicious. Food was even better. Cant wait to go back. They were accommodating to my celiac / gluten free needs. Didn't get sick after!

Five of us dined on Monday at DeKalb's new Italian charhouse, Florentino's on First St. and Lincoln Hwy. (former home to Keg and Kernel). The overall experience was a positive one, although they had no record of the reservation my husband had phoned in two days prior. Fortunately, one table that suited our party was available. A friend in our group required space for her walker. The server was polite, friendly, and attentive. He asked all the right questions and answered those that we had. Soups and salads came out first and got good reviews. The wedge and Caesar were fresh and on point for taste, and the French onion soup topped with the requisite crouton and gooey cheese earned two thumbs up. Delivery of our entrees was well-timed, always appreciated. They were also all correct, attractively-plated, and, according to five out of five of us, quite delicious. The steaks and lamb chops were cooked as requested, a great test of the kitchen staff. The only small flaw noted was that the veal Marsala was underseasoned. Otherwise, we had no complaints. Wine and cocktails offered sufficient pours, taste, and strength. Parking is available in the lot behind the building past the spaces reserved for building residents, and a back entrance shortens the walk. Two steps leading out might pose an issue for wheelchairs, however. Those of us who live in the area plan return trips and welcome having another source for fine dining close to home. Kudos to the owners and staff for having things well under control so soon after opening.

We have eaten here several times. I was surprised I hadn't logged a review, but am happy to…read morecorrect that error on my part! This has a nice restaurant vibe - nice tables, tablecloths, art on the walls, good lighting, nice, quiet carpeted spaces. There is a lot to like. We made a reservation, were greeted at the door and then promptly seated. Water came out quickly, along with the menus and the wine list. The wine list was a bit light in that all the bottles were typically lower cost. With such a wide variety of food on the menu, it deserves a bit more depth and some better wines to be included. Not that the wines that were included were bad - they were not. They are just at the very low entry end of the market. Picking up a few from Justin, Stag's Leap, and others in the $80 range would help enhance the restaurant's list. We both ordered entrees, which came with the either soup or salad - we both elected to get salads, where I selected a Caesar and my wife had a standard salad. The Caesar had plenty of parmesan cheese and croutons. The dressing was a bit thin - traditional Caesar dressings are cream based, this one seemed to be light on the garlic and anchovies. No anchovies were available, so it's kind of a light "Caesar." The regular salad my wife had was good - she enjoyed it. For the main course, I ordered their Filet Mignon, medium rare with a baked potato. The server asked if I wanted butter and sour cream, which I did and which was provided. The filet is provided in a cabernet reduction. This may have been a bit much, it was hard to taste the filet with the reduction. The filet came with broccoli which was steamed and was nicely done. The baked potato was cooked through (as expected, and worked well with the butter and sour cream. My wife enjoyed her Shrimp and Grits - the shrimp was cooked quite nicely and seasoned well. We were concerned about the meal size, so we skipped an appetizer, and it was a good thing since she took half of her shrimp and grits home. We were not rushed out of our table, and had a good time.

We sat at the outdoor patio bar where they had two screens playing sports games. We started with a John Daley & Huskie Punch. The punch tasted similar to a painkiller which is tropical and fruity. The John Daley tasted like it had more tea than lemonade but it was refreshing. For food, I got the Honey Garlic Boneless Wings. I loved the flavor of the sauce and the medium order came as quite a big portion. They were very crispy and well breaded. My husband got The Fat Boy burger with a side of their famous Cajun Fried Potato Salad and Baked Beans. The burger was juicy and flavorful. The potato salad wasn't too spicy but tasted delicious. I see why it's so famous! Overall, this was a great summer hang out spot! I was thoroughly impressed by the food quality and atmosphere Fatty's has to offer. I will certainly be back with friends!

Being just after the usual grazing time for him we found this establishment that checked all the boxes for the three of us. Outdoor seating as well as indoor seating was available, seat yourself style. We sat inside. The noise level was not loud at all. Perfect for table conversations. The menu had too many tasty sounding items. I chose the Fatty Melt with the Cajun Fried Potato Salad and Coleslaw. My wife had the Chicken Club Wrap with Onion rings and Beans (for me). The little had the 2 mini sliders with fries. Being family we share the sides and the onion rings were a hit. The number one treat in my book was the Cajun Fried Potato Salad. The bean had a good smoky flavor to them. Last but not least our server should get top billing in the review. Jordan did a fantastic job accommodating our requests and took the time to answer questions without feeling rushed. She made us feel more like a friend than a patron. Hats off to you Jorden! Thanks for making our visit enjoyable.

The place is clean, bright and cozy without being cramped. The service is friendly and helpful. The menu is not too big nor too small....just right. We ordered the spinach pie - flakey crust, delicious spinach & feta filling with herbs. Most definitely homemade fresh, not a frozen food service product. Gyro dinner with spinach rice and Greek potatoes - gyro meat was tender and not overly spiced/flavored like, once again, a nasty food service product. Potatoes were cooked perfectly. Soft and seasoned spot-on, obviously made fresh and not left dying under a heat lamp. The spinach rice was tasty but a bit salty. I can assume that since everything is fresh made this might just be a one-off. I am more than willing to try this dish again to test out this hypothesis. I definitely recommend. Please support this venue to assure that this option for an alternative to bar food in downtown Sycamore lasts for a long time to come

The chicken was super tasty and I loved the block of feta. Although, for 15.00, I could get double the salad and chicken and get pita bread at another local Greek restaurant. I would suggest adding more to the salad for the price of 16.50. I will try something different next time but I think my husband will stick with the Gyro dinner and we will just ask for more sauce and pita bread.
