When we went to buy a vehicle from this dealership the salesman told me I would need a co signer bc of my credit score. No problem! My mom co signed for me and we used a vehicle in my husband'sname as a trade in. They never had him sign the title over as he wasn't going to be on the new auto loan. We didn't find out that they put the loan in my mom's name only until she received the first letter from the lender. We never received our copies of anything regarding the sale until my mom went back 2 months later. When I went to go refinance the vehicle, we found out that they had used my business income under my mom's name to get the loan done. I couldn't refinance the vehicle because of the fraud committed. Jimmy White tried to get us to settle the matter during the investigation before "it was too late". When we spoke with him in person he stated that the fraud, that has been verified by the lender, is my opinion of what happened and refuses to make it right. This is still on-going. The service dept. is the worst I have ever experienced. I could produce a long list of mistakes, oversites, and just plain incompetence. Like the time I had them repair my brakes and a few days later the caliper bolts fell while driving. They told me they fired the employee that did the work. But the fact is I have had other problems with Florence and White service both before and after the brake job incidence. I finally gave up on them and now take my cars elsewhere. read more

Lured and Scammed by false advertising. Received a flyer in the mail that said I had won a 60" TV "No purchase necessary" when I called the number to confirm no one would answer. When I got there they asked a bunch of questions about my car and when they finally realized I wasn't going to buy a new car that day they would not talk to me. When I got to the dealership they told me that no one named Ethan worked there and I had won a $5 gift card from Walmart. Bought a 1 year old vehicle .I was told about the lifetime warranty ,that it was just fantastic. As I was driving home ,10 miles,the gas light came on.Sales says they only put gas in new vehicles ,apparently not used 45000.00 trucks. Here it is 6 months later and still dont have the Lifetime warranty papers.I talked to the manager whom was going to take care of it.Weeks later I called again to find out where the paper work is.The manager has quit.He jumped off that ship[shop]. Also took it in for service.I noticed before I took it in ,that it was low on antifreeze.I asked the service writer if they check all fluids ,and was told they do a complete check of all fluids. After the oil change and inspection I checked under the hood.Yep ,you guessed it,the antifreeze was low,not checked. I get the service writer and get ,OOPS,sorry. If this is the kind of dealer you like ,then go. Oh wait,If something goes wrong with the truck,I have to take it back to these guys or pay 500.00 for another dealer to work on the truck for the Lifetime warranty. read more

This place screwed my parents big time on a 07 hummer for $21.000 . My parents bought cash. 2 months later found out from the previous owner that the hummer was crap. We took it to carmax, got a carfax to find out it had been wrecked more then once with a rebuilt title and had front end damage. So my folks went to sale it to carmax right then but didn't like the $8.000 dollar deal they offered. So the parents took the hummer back to Jeff with a 100.000 mile warranty to get a simple oil change. The mechanic gripped about doing it and said to leave the hummer over night and he would have it ready with clean oil first thing in the morning, befor my parents left the dealership my dad informed jeff and Mike about the carfax news they found out, and request something done about the lies and scams. Mike said he would see what he could do and to come back in the morning. They did. Nothing got done about the dirty lies and scam. 4 days later the hummer wouldn't start one morning. Called the dealer ship. They charged my folks over $100 to tow the broke down humv less 2 miles. Came back with the terrible news , with the motor needing replaced for 5 grand :( my parents hearts were completely broke and life got real hard after that very day. They ended up taking the hummer home pulling from a chain from the back of my truck. Everyone in tears bc they loved that hummer. They sold the body for $3500 I know what happen that day in that shop and the mechanic knows what happen too. I hope know one on this planet gets done this way by anyone. We as ll know dealer ships are slimy and scammers but damn that sucked. Please people do not waist a penny. read more

Came in late after service hours but the friendly staff let us plug our F-250 based RV into shore power overnight while we waited for service to open the next morning. They took care of us first thing and the repair was covered by the Ford warranty. We were back on the road in less than an hour with a smile and handshake. read more

In addition to my last comments about this outfit, I discovered that they did not perform the lubrication of the front-end fittings on my vehicle. I also asked the service writer to check a slow leak in a tire. It was losing about 10 pounds of air a day.They said there was no leak. Funny, they didn't even take the wheel off the car, or put any more air in the tire to search for a leak. I located the leak myself with a spray of soapy water at my home. We had the tire repaired at Wal-Mart. They laughed when we told them about Florence & White. Must be an everyday experience for people. I should have reviewed the BBB prior to going there. They've had a bunch of complaints. So much for the "Home Town" dealer. These people should just pull up their tent and close their doors. read more

Hot shot diesel shop and service center! They had my 2006 F350 6.0 up and running like new again in one day. Which was vital for us on our cross country trip. They worked hard and fast to diagnose the system and replace items as needed under my factory warranty! Drove 4hrs up from Memphis, and bought a used 2011 Ford Fusion from Florence and White. The salesman (Thomas) showed me paperwork stating that the car had been inspected and found to be free of exiting defects. On the way home the car started making noise from the front end. Two days later I took the car to Autonation Ford here in Memphis to get it inspected. Turns out the lower (or rear?) control arms are dry rotted and will cost $1660 to replace. Called to speak to the owner (since the salesman has lied to me too many times already) and was told he wasn't available but that he would get the msg with the information I gave about the existing problem. Owner won't call me back, instead has the salesman call me, and tell me nothing. Stay as far away from these crooks as you can. It's possible the mechanic missed the rotted bushings, and so it was incompetence and not dishonesty. But even if that's the case, the fact that the owner doesn't care to do anything about it, should tell you all you need to know. Here's what they say about themselves: 'Our Sales Department has a tradition of providing our Customers with the highest level of Professionalism, Service and Integrity. We are proud to be known as a Dealership that does things the Right Way.' Yeah, maybe not so much. read more

I typically do not write negative reviews and if I have had an unsatisfactory experience I prefer to give the business every opportunity to rectify the situation. Florence and White Ford specialize in rip off tactics so satisfied customers is not on their priority. I feel it would be wrong not to alert the car buying public about our experience at Florence and White Ford in hopes others can avoid their unethical behavior and dishonesty. They bullied and intimidated my daughter (one of their managers even threatened to tie her to her chair with his tie) into buying a truck for basically $10,000 that is probably not worth even $2,000 and that NOW A WEEK LATER DOES NOT RUN AT ALL. My daughter is literally traumatized by the experience. Within 2 days of buying the truck the check engine light came on and several major mechanical issues became apparent and we realized the degree to which she had been victimized. Before it stopped running altogether we took the truck to a mechanic who provided an itemized list of the things that are wrong with it. Either the Florence and White Ford service department that supposedly checked the truck out is incompetent OR they knew of the issues with the truck, lied about them and sold it anyway. We went back to Florence and White Ford a couple of times to give them the opportunity to make this right. We simply asked them to give her the amount she just paid to buy the junk truck toward the purchase of a reliable vehicle. They refused. Because we were now out the equivalent of nearly $10,000 and had the equivalent of junk to show for it we then tried to negotiate by taking a loss on the defective truck to purchase a higher priced reliable vehicle. They refused any remotely fair negotiation and only saw our problem with the junk truck they sold us as another opportunity to gouge us as buyers. They offered as much as $7,000 LESS than we paid to trade back the same truck 3 days later. Their finance guy Bobby (same guy that threatened to tie her up with is tie) basically said to us that it is perfectly OK for this dealership to bully and intimidate novice and trusting car buyers into buying outrageously over-priced and defective vehicles and that it was my daughters fault for trusting them. There was absolutely no concern. No empathy. No effort to make it right as a reputable dealer would have done. It was abundantly clear their only concern was how they could make even more money off of us. Having now read other reviews it is apparent we are not the first to be victimized by Florence and White Ford. I hope in sharing our experience it will keep others from falling victim as well. read more

buyer beware!!!! they sold my son a 22 year old truck with 218,000. he is barely 18 years old just out of high school with no job for $1895.95. they took advantage of an inexperienced kid! they sold this truck knowing that the motor was blown and it had 16 inch wheels that someone made fit with a hack saw. 1 week after the purchase, the front wheel fell off while he was driving down the road and he almost wrecked. we had to haul it to the dealership on a trailer. when we got the truck there, no one there would drive it, they said it was unsafe! we pulled it to their autobody department, and watched and photographed them putting stop leak in it. the owner, jim florence, would not give my son back $600 dollars. he said he would fix all four wheels, the power steering and the oil leak. he told my son they would have it ready on 10/5/2011. my son picked it up yesterday and drove home. today, october 6, 2011, he got up and tried driving the truck six miles to a job interview, the motor blew up and the radiator burst leaving him stranded on the highway. mr florence was called and would not come to the phone!!!!! read more

We bought a used Ford Edge from Florence and White. Dealer told my husband to make every payment on time for two years that we could bring it back and trade it in for a new Explorer. My husband told him that there is no way, we would be too upside down on what we owe and the trade in value. Salesman said no that he would make sure it happened. Took car up there to trade two years later guess what? They said we owe too much and would not trade. So we took car to the dodge dealer to trade for a Durango and the carfax report shows that the car has been wrecked by the previous owners. Salesman at Florence and white never mentioned the wreck and when asked about the car fax report when we bought the car they said that they do not do the car fax report bc not all insurance companies report on it. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone unless you want to pay too much for a previous wrecked car. We also took the car back to the dealer the day after purchased bc it was making a terrible noise from back wheel, asked for them to check it out they said it was just the tires. It was really a bad wheel bearing that we ended up having to fix. read more
