Everything I needed for my first night in Europe to beat the jetlag. I ordered the octopus (in a can) with some bread as I had filled myself on snacks in the Air France lounge at CDG a few hours earlier and enjoyed a glass of Rose. The waitress was lovely and spoke English to help me along. I sat outside and watched the sunset. This is important to know: they take AMEX! Most places in Europe do not and I was so happy to have my corporate AMEX accepted. I highly recommend for a small bite after taking in the sight of Basel.

Easily among the best French restaurants in the Basel Metropolitan area, it appears to be a fairly well kept secret; in our opinion unjustifiably so. We will visit again soon and enjoy their seasonal cooking. Be aware that the restaurant is not open for business over the weekend, perhaps one of the reasons for its relative unknown status.
