We took some time deciding who we wanted to use for flowers, so we didn't contact Misty at Nectar until a month before our wedding. First we had a phone call with her to discuss some ideas and send her some pictures. We then met with her at her studio where she had taken our ideas and converted them into a vision board. She went over everything, told us which flowers would look best depending on season, and showed us some other ideas. The fact that we only had a month left was never an issue. We had a general idea of what to expect on our wedding day, but we were blown away by Misty's execution. We got bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, as well as flowers for the arbor and the aisle during the ceremony. We were so happy that our venue was able to reuse the aisle and arbor flowers for the reception because they were so beautiful. We can't wait to get all of our wedding pictures back so we can admire the flowers some more. We strongly recommend Nectar to anyone getting married in the Boston area.

I spoke to the person on call at the shop and she was helpful and simpatico. Sorry I forgot her name. The only reason this is not a five star is I specifically asked for the flowers to be delivered around noon or before they did not arrive until 455pm. Nevertheless my daughter loved them. I called and left a message to ask if I could add to it to make it bigger. No one returned my call. I called a few days later and asked if they could deliver it a day early, since I did not know my mom's schedule that day and I specifically asked that they deliver them to my mom personally because of my crazy family dynamics - my jealous siblings who would throw flowers and gifts from me and my kids in the trash. Again, no one returned my call. So I sent an email. Marta-Victoria emailed me back a few days later and assured me she would hand-deliver them to my mother, per her policy, and as I had instructed. She did exactly as she was instructed not to do. Moreover, she didn't mention my multiple messages she did not return. Today, I called and emailed to find out if they delivered the flowers to my mom personally. They emailed me with a picture of the flowers they say they delivered, which were NOTHING like the flowers I ordered and only included 2 purple flowers but it was still not the arrangement OR THE PRICE I paid. Worse, despite my explicit directions and explanations, and my offer to pay more for a 2nd delivery attempt, if necessary, they did exactly what I told them not to do -- they left the flowers with someone else. Pure Joy flowers demands a tip before they even deliver the flowers. Can you imagine their audacity and entitlement? You earn a tip after you've completed your service. I only gave them a 20% tip as insurance to encourage them to follow my directions, which they didn't. When they didn't deliver the flowers I ordered or deliver them to my mom, I emailed them and asked them to refund me the 20% tip that I paid in advance and the difference in the cost of the flowers I ordered and the flowers they delivered. As usual, Marta-Victoria refused to answer my multiple emails or respond to the terrible review I gave her. Like the other reviewers said here, this florist is never open. No one answers the phone or email at any time of day. Marta-Victoria's 4.1 star reviews are all her other friends writing these reviews! RUN FROM THIS FLORIST! They don't return your calls or emails unless you call and email multiple days and they are CROOKS! They take your money and don't provide the service or even the correct flowers you order and then lie and say it was "an upgrade," when it was a downgrade, as if you were blind and couldn't tell the difference. I included photos so you can see the difference between what I ordered and paid for -- and what they allegedly delivered -- although there is still no proof that they did deliver them -- and the replacement flowers I had to buy and send because Marta-Victoria's downgrade was so puny, cheap and unremarkable and I have no confirmation they were ever delivered, from both my mom or the florist. I called Come Pick My Flowers, and told Nancy, the owner, the whole story. She delivered replacement flowers immediately within 4 hours and hand-delivered them to my mother and sent me a picture. THAT is excellent customer service. Go to Come Pick My Flowers when you need flowers. The 1st picture is the flower is the arrangement that Come Pick My Flowers sent as a replacement within a few hours notice -- not the 10 days of notice that Pure Joy had. Nancy charged me $60 for the flowers and $10 for the delivery and her flowers and the arrangement are so much fuller and so much more beautiful by comparison! The 2nd picture is the picture that Pure Joy's delivery man sent me of what he allegedly dropped off, but he did not hand-deliver to my mom as I asked, so I don't even know if they arrived. They are clearly not the same as what I ordered and not as pretty or as purple and cheaper than the flower arrangement I paid for, which is the 3rd photo. The 3rd photo is the flower arrangement I ordered and paid for from Pure Joy flowers for $65 + $15 delivery + $4.06 in tax and $13 in required tip. Pure Joy is a PURE SCAM. I had to call the Better Business Bureau to report Marta-Victoria for refusing to give me a refund of the difference between the arrangement I paid for and the lesser one they allegedly sent (which I still have no proof was delivered) and my 20% tip that was forced at the time of purchase, rather than as a reward for good service. She didn't earn the tip. As far as I know, the flowers weren't even delivered so she didn't earn the sale either. Erica can spin magic out of nothing…read more We had a ridiculously tight budget for flowers and decor but what Erica was able to create with that budget completely blew us and our guests away. I don't really have the words to describe it- the colors, the textures, the thoughtful accents (we are both 'foodies' and she incorporated edible elements in the arrangements to carry our foodie theme in the space- asparagus, avocados, artichokes, etc). I gave her vague guidelines for color and texture and she created something that was beyond my wildest imagination! Guests are still commenting about the floral arrangements! Creativity is only one aspect I can praise about her, however. Thoughtfulness is another. My mom became ill and was hospitalized for several weeks before the wedding, and she was still very weak. We thought that she would only be able to stay for the ceremony and part of dinner and would then need to go back to the hotel room to rest. Erica said that since she was onsite anyway, she would be happy to stay with her and fetch her anything she needed and sit with her in the hotel. She will forever have my loyalty for that. We didn't need to take her up on the offer, but what florist would offer to go above and beyond like that?? The combination of creativity, service, professionalism and value is the reason I would recommend Orchids N' Blooms again and again!

Should rename the company "Fillers N'Colorblind"…read more They struggle with the following issues: (1) getting orchids shipped through customs and thus using CHEAPER blooms in the bouquets despite what you paid and contracted (2) understanding inspiration pictures and clear descriptions despite frequent communication (i.e., posy vs. enormous bouquet, tall vs short, sparse vs. full) (3) choosing flowers that match swatches of fabric that you mail them i.e., my wedding colors were mauve pink and light gold, but for some reason they choose purple and fuschia centerpieces which were very sparse by the way (4) bothering a bride and telling (not asking) her to mail extra wedding gown fabric for the bouquets (5) owning up to their mistakes (i.e, having to lose sleep and trying to find a new florist for my wedding bouquet, paying for 6 tall centerpieces but only getting 2) They pressured me in considering their ugly enormous heavy FILLER bouquet even though I had already seen photos of how OPPOSITE it was to my inspiration photos. (They post their photos on facebook the night before the wedding). On the morning of my wedding, I had to order a new $200 bouquet and $25 boutonierre from Winston Flowers, and after just sending them two inspiration photos, they created and delivered my dream posy phalaenopsis orchid bouquet within 4 hours, just in time for our wedding photos. And orchids and blooms sent us a measly $50 check with no real apology. I wish Winstons or any other florist could redo the wedding bouquets and centerpieces and wish I never worked with ONB. Good thing my wedding venue in Boston was a beautiful place so everybody could ignore the flowers.

I was a florist…read moremany, many years ago and recall being taught to use all the flowers that were on their way out (dying) for funeral arrangements because the flowers only have to last the 1-2 days after the arrangement is made. Funeral arrangements cost a LOT of money. Due to knowing that, I always send plants with flowers in them or vase arrangements. When your booking the funeral and you need certain pieces, there is know avoiding getting what you get and hoping the flowers are not wilting. Bedford Florist was great! See below pic for yourself. Lily's were in full bloom. Since it's for a funeral, that's okay and my preference since I was not taking it home to enjoy. Note, I did pay $420 for the casket spray...which is why there are roses, stargazer lilies and orchids. If you want to spend less, it is doable there. I requested those colors, lilies and snap dragon. It smelled amazing. I meant to request wax flower but forgot. She used it on her own ;)
