I recently had Lauren design and provide all of the flowers for my wedding ceremony. I visited a lot of florists prior to making my decision because I needed someone who was artistic, responsive, and reliable. Starting from the very first day when I scheduled a meeting with Lauren to discuss my ideas she has been wonderful. She created a pinterest board and was really interested to learn my style, my budget and all about what I envisioned for the day. We sat down over the next few months to come up with a plan. I am SO SO happy I chose flora for my flowers- they were amazing, Words cannot describe how much I loved them and they way to flowers looked at my reception. She surpassed my ideas of gorgeous and made me smile when she delivered them to me. I highly recommend using Lauren for your wedding and other floral needs. Booking Lauren was my absolute biggest mistake in wedding planning. I booked her in July of 2021 and we met up in July of 2022 for a venue walkthrough where she presented floral ideas to me, as my floral plans were far from solidified. That was one of the last times I ever heard from her. I spent literally the next year attempting to contact her via email, text, phone call and even Instagram message, trying to solidify my floral plans and my "living contract," which she expressly says in her contact can be changed at any time, with only sporadic replies from her every few months. Even my venue, where she was a preferred vendor prior to this debacle, asked her to contact me with empty promises back from her. When I finally asked Lauren within two months of my wedding to please from there on out reply to me within two weeks even if it was to say "I'll reply to you in full at a later time," we finally got on the phone for the first time since our sole initial phone call. On that call, I had hoped to work things out with her but she just kept repeating that I was welcome to cancel my contract if I wanted and she would refund my deposit. She also told me that we had "many phone calls" (we had one) and I had too many contract changes... which was news to me being that the living contract lacked solidified floral plans and she presented ideas to me during our venue walkthrough that she asked me to get back to her on. I still didn't want to cancel my contract with Lauren being that I was two months out from my wedding and I knew how difficult it would be to find a new florist within that time. That was until later that day, when she actually texted me recommendations for new florists. When I asked her if I was unable to find someone who was available if she would still show up and fulfill my contract, she NEVER RESPONDED. Thankfully, my venue stepped in, immediately found a new vendor for me, and removed Lauren as a preferred vendor. When I contacted Lauren just days later with the news that I had found a new florist and could she refund my deposit as she offered and promised, I never heard from her, once again despite many phone calls, texts and emails. She only refunded the deposit one month later after I filed a dispute with my credit card company. If you don't want to be a bride wondering if she will have a bouquet on her wedding day, do not book Flora Event Design. read more

Allow me to preface this by stating that Flora's designs are breathtaking. Lauren is a talented floral designer with a wonderful eye for color. Unlike others, my experience was not as responsible, nor professional as others. I requested flowers be sent to a person at a business, providing the business name and contact, address, and phone information. By close of business, the flowers had not delivered. I called and was informed the flowers "were not time stamped but would deliver soon." A half hour later, I followed up and was promised a confirmation call at delivery. Staff had to remain late to receive the beautiful bouquet. The flowers did deliver an hour and a half after my initial call. I did not receive the follow up call from Flora. When I went in to discuss the matter, they first blamed me, then, begrudgingly refunded $7 for delivery of a $98 florist charge. I service three different corporations (two of which are shells that hold more than six companies each) making special arrangements for their clients in four different states. Our total floral spending is between $700 and $3500 a year, including for a national lifestyle magazine publication shot locally, not including special events. We will not be using Flora again. read more

My husband and I worked with Lauren, the owner of Flora, for our recent wedding. tl;dr I was thrilled, she's the best, I recommend her wholeheartedly, her aesthetic is awesome, her prices are reasonable, run don't walk! Lauren is a ray of sunshine in the cesspool that is much of the wedding industry. Seriously. Deets: 1) Process: Working with Lauren was a collaborative process-- we defined a vision together and then she executed it flawlessly. We pinned, we talked, we sampled... and then she pulled it off and exceeded any and all expectations! 2) General chill: Unlike many other wedding vendors I dealt with, she's super practical and I never felt a hard sell or weird pressure to do things a certain way. Can more wedding vendors be like this, pls? 3) Budget: Lauren was super respectful of our budget and suggested ways to cut costs without compromising on the overall look and feel. She helped us in using primarily local, in season blooms for environmental and budgetary purposes. Her quote came in right in our price range and I think the quality of her work was way higher than what some others were trying to charge. 4) End product: OBSESSED!!!!! All of the arrangements she created for our wedding were stunning, unique, and totally exceeded all my expectations. Her style is really cool and totally different than many other traditional florists that we spoke to. I couldn't stop staring at the flowers at the wedding! Lastly, and most importantly, Lauren stepped in at critical junctures to fix a bunch of last minute crises that I didn't even know about until weeks after the wedding. Never knew a florist would ghost on a bride getting married in less than two months. After my initial consultation with Lauren, she said she'd follow up with a contract. My planner and I followed up with multiple phone calls, voicemails, and emails. But she went completely dark. If the budget was too low, she should have just let me know that she can't do it, then I would've just started looking for another florist right away instead of waiting for weeks when my wedding is just around the corner. Couldn't be happier with my Flora experience! I am not local and wanted to send flowers to my aunt - I called on a whim on a Sunday afternoon, and was so happy to find they were open. They asked all the right questions that I rarely get when ordering flowers - if you're like me, you know what you want but not necessarily how to order or describe it. She asked if I wanted something light and airy or short and full, asked if I wanted a wrapped bouquet or an arrangement in a vase, asked the colors and styles I liked, and asked what price point I wanted to stick with. They were so accommodating - and able to get the flowers there within a day. The arrangement turned out even better than I could have expected - I hate arrangements full of fillers, and this one is anything but - it's absolutely beautiful. Lauren (the owner) is most reliable and creative florist. She recently prepared all the flowers for my 130 person outdoor oceanfront wedding ceremony+reception and I had a wonderful experience. I have no knowledge of flowers and am not creative so I put all my trust in her creative abilities after giving her just a few vague guidelines about colors, budget and general vibe I wanted for the wedding. I didn't want to have to think about it too much or make too many decisions which she totally understood and respected. All the flowers turned out AMAZING! I loved my bouquets, boutonnieres, urn arrangements and centerpieces, and soooo many friends and family members complimented them throughout the day, telling me how they were the best wedding flowers they've ever seen! She also went out of her way to design special flower arrangements for these lanterns I bought last minute for some of table centerpieces. Just as importantly, she was very reliable about communication (which is a problem with wedding vendors sometimes) and responsible about setting up and arriving on time. And her prices are way more reasonable than a few of the other places I investigated. She gives you more beautiful and unique arrangements for a better price than most of these other fancy floral shops you will run across. Anyway thanks to her my wedding was even more perfect!!! Lauren was wonderful and so helpful for our wedding flowers. We ordered roses, daffodils, hyacinths, and greenery for our bouquets & centerpieces, plus quince branches to frame the bride & groom, and they were all lovely. She also very generously loaned us two large urns for the quince branches which was enormously helpful (this was all at the last minute, so I'm not sure what else we would have done if it hadn't been for her). She gives great suggestions about flower combinations and how to make your own bouquets/boutonnieres if that's what you're planning to do. We were so lucky to have found her shop and are very grateful to her for the lovely flowers at our wedding! The only small issue we had was that the lilies didn't open in time to use for the centerpieces, so we ended up giving them to friends to take home after the reception. We were sad we didn't get to include them, but they opened several days later and our friends were able to enjoy them. read more

Hiring Lauren to be our wedding florist was one of the first, and best decisions my husband and I made for our big day. We stumbled upon her shop in Lambertville while just walking around town, and we connected with her style and personality right away. We didn't even have our date or venue figured out yet, but we knew we wanted to have her on board when we did. We shared ideas with her via a Pinterest board and chatted on the phone and in person in the beginning and then again closer to our wedding. Working with her was one of the least stressful and most enjoyable parts of the planning process.
