    Ciders on flights
    Jodi H.

Plant-parent aesthetics with indoor balcony/upper level seating (perf for people-watchers) and an elevated vibe. Get your cider fix here! There aren't too many cideries or meaderies up here in Albany, so Flora & Ferment is a welcome haven for those who partake. My friend loves ciders, so I came with in full support as a beer gal myself. LOVE that Flora & Ferment support local communities, they host fun events like queer trivia night and pumpkin painting in their cidery taproom space, and allow dogs and kids. We love inclusive spaces. There is ample street parking, and their taproom is spacious with a super elevated ceiling so you feel like there's no need to fight for space. The seating arrangements/quality of furniture give West Elm and Wayfair energy, and the color palettes plus the racks of bottles of ciders for purchase give so much class (way more than breweries) to this space without the snobbery that you often see in urban wineries. The gal behind the bar seemed to be the owner, and she was friendly but quiet. We came on our day off on a weekday, so the space was quite empty save for a few other midday beverage enthusiasts. Love that they offer flights, which come in a set of seven. I couldn't say I had a favorite cider, but I did enjoy the option to try all of the ciders on tap. They also sell little bagged savory snacks, and have a refrigerated section of cold ones you can take home if you feel so inclined. Such a calm, inviting, and well-curated space.

Winner winner chicken dinner. This place is amazing. Entering this business, I couldn't understand why it wasn't packed wall to wall. The tasteful decorations, and not overcrowded. Lush places to sit, and a selection of ciders, I don't think i've ever seen anywhere. So comfy. This place is totally gorgeous. I have to bring my wife here because this is definitely the place to go on a date night. And for those of you who have dogs, it's pet friendly. I do have to say right off the bat because they only have cider, beer, and wine that you will need to be over twenty-one years of age to come in. They do ID. Kate, the owner, was so informative and welcoming. This owner-manager is a cider expert in my world. She studies her product and production and is always curious while learning about her product. She listened to my taste profiles and built the perfect flight for tasting. Cold tapsn with bottles and cans to go. Bonus Tip. If you are a people watcher, there is an elevated seating area upstairs in the back. I almost missed it. Fun place. I had the Lassen Traditional Cidery Irvine Orchard Dry, the Two Broads Cider Works Spitsy Mumu, and my fave ... Far West Cider Parlez Vous Grapefruit. A little cider education for you that will help you at this location. If you can tell Kate what your tastes are, whether you want acidic, dry, Appley, or fruity, then she can direct you to the proper cider. If I had to vote, I would say this is the best cider house that doesn't produce a product at this time that I've ever been to in the SF Bay Area. Will I come back ... yes ... and I will bring friends. Here's a tip. Would you like to step out of your comfort zone and try something unique? Try the Modern Day Meadery Hot for Peacher. Completely unique with hints of jalapeno, peach, and a Mead wine made from honey, and it's not sweet.

Enjoying the Jamaica mead at Flora & Ferment. Love the cozy ambiance and all of the cider and mead selection. Great atmosphere, great people. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere and amazing drinks! Try SideTrack Mead sold here if you visit, 10/10 recommend.

Ciders, the expend ones in large bottles.

I'm glad that there is a cider place and appreciate them. The cider is fine and the atmosphere while cute and funky can be a bit boring. They don't have food, but you can bring food from the outside, something I wish i'd known. But I don't want to leave a great place with two cider options to go over there. The people who are working at the bar never seem to interact with me when I go in, but if I have a question, there is a woman at the cash register who will respond and answer questions and make recommendations. This place has a colder vibe than Hersherz in Oakland, but if you want a cider, they have one.

I had been wanting to try the ciders here ever since I passed by the place on my way to get cashew icecream down Solano. This cute little place is such a neighborhood gem. I took my parents here on a quiet Friday on my day off. We tried a bunch of drinks here, including 6 ciders and 1 beer. For die-hard traditional beer lovers like my dad, you may not like the beer here. But for sweet drink lovers like my mom and I, we had fun trying the different ciders. I really like #6 on the menu, sweet and citrusy. I did not like #8 the spicy mangy cider. I enjoyed my time here. 1 star off because there's a lot of flies flying near our seats by the window (fruit flies maybe?), they just be attracted to the smell of these delicious ciders. Service was wonderful. The gentlemen working there was super friendly and patient and helpful. He gave good recommendations.

What a beautiful environment with plants and decoration that's calming and unique. Service is knowledgeable and friendly. And such a wide selection of cider, kombucha and hard seltzer drinks. I had the mulled cider which was perfect for the cooler weather. It was a great spot to catch up with a friend and we could hear each other easily without too much crowd or noise. Looking forward up coming back!

Love the front sign for dogs!

Not sure how I always past this place on Solano Ave but glad we finally got to check inside. I loved the varieties of cider they have on tap and lots to choose from in their refrigerated section as well. They have such cute place with plants decorated everywhere that you can even purchase! The service as super friendly and love how they are also dog friendly. They also do have special nights like game nights and would love to check that out! Will for sure be back again

Best spot ever when you just want to chillax. The ciders on tap offer great variety and you basically can't go wrong. The guy pouring gives the best recs and the vibe is just awesome. Wish I could wrap up every week here.

The ciders are amazing and the ambience is peaceful. And what makes me feel most comfortable is the fact that my queer identity is not only welcomed but is protected and affirmed. Shout out to first Tuesdays Queer Trivia nights! I love the upstairs and downstairs layout with the front window nook that I always enjoy:)

Support local and woman-owned! Stop by at this little oasis on Solano Ave for some great cider and chill. You can people watch with a seat at the window or hang out upstairs on the loft. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and so glad I did today. Plan on returning for some chill afternoons with some delicious ciders. Enjoy!
