We had a stairway runner and carpet throughout our upstairs that were worn from years of use, including traffic from three kids. Throughout the carpet selection process at Carpet One, Jodi's guidance made it easy for us to choose the perfect carpet--her knowledge and patience truly made a difference. For the stairway runner, we had a specific design in mind and eventually found it online at a different merchant. We truly appreciated Jarod's flexibility and willingness to have their installers handle the stair runner installation along with the carpet they sold us. After selecting the carpet, we realized we needed refinishing on the stained and painted surfaces of our stairway before runner installation. Jarod found a skilled painter to handle that part of the work. Once the painting and staining were completed, their installation crew--Sam and Corey--arrived and meticulously installed both the carpet and runner. We are genuinely grateful for their attention to detail, professionalism, and personable approach. Their focus on perfection throughout the installation was evident, and working with them was a pleasure. In the end, everything looks fantastic, and we could not be happier with the results. We selected this place because it was local. Mistake! They were helpful in the selection process…read more The installers come in - never even introduce theirselves. They do the job. Their goal as stated to me is to "clean up at least 90% of the post installation mess". We had 0% cleaned up. Carpet threads all over the house, staples all over the floors. We ran the vacuum at least 10x to get all of the debris picked up. Shortly after install we notice visible seams. A large one with an unfinished area in the main room. Another very visible seam in the bedroom. They did send a repair specialist to attempt to fix the seam. After being told they would "re-stretch" and fix, he was at the house for 10 minutes. Threw 2 staples down and hit the seem with a carpet hammer. Off he went. So much for the re-stretch. So much for the mentioned independent inspection. It looks the same. Not to mention, coming 1:45min late for the repair appointment. Also, the man I spoke to "Mike" with horrific customer service speaking to me like I was his child. Lecturing me how to justify the incompetence of the installers. We try to support local. AWFUL all around ! Embarrassing.

Lori, the owner, was extremely personable & helpful, guiding me through the process of determining my needs & evaluating the pros and cons of different products. Carpet City does not get a commission from different manufacturers, so the focus is on finding and selling a carpet which fits the customer's specifications and price range. James, who came to our house to measure, then returned to remove & replace the carpet was meticulous, friendly, & very precise in his work. We couldn't be happier, both with the quality of the carpet but also with integrity of the business owner and her staff.

I was looking for inexpensive carpet to be installed quickly and had been to both Home Depot and Lowes. I was SO frustrated by the lack of knowledge of the store employees and stressed about having to make an appointment with a 3rd party, potentially get an asbestos test and not fully knowing WHEN everything would be completed. I mentioned my situation while at a luncheon and 2 separate neighbors suggested I call CBL. Boy am I glad I did!! Not only did CBL have a much better quality and color selection of quick install carpet but Frank, one of the owners, came out to measure and provided a quote. The quote was very similar in price to the big box stores. Carpets were installed by a super detail oriented team within 5 days of my original call. Everything was perfect! Then the rains and warmer weather came and the basement flooded 3 days after our carpet was installed. Frank and his team went way beyond anything I could have imagined and offered to come and pick up the carpet and bring it to their warehouse to dry out. The team is now ready to reinstall when we are sure basement is dry. I will forever be a CBL customer and will continue to share my awesome experience with anyone who will hear me. They are very professional and knowledgable about flooring. I made at least 5 trips into the store for color selection and sample check outs. They came out to my home to help me finalize my selections. They even offered help with wall colors too. I think the pricing is fair comparing CBL to the larger big box stores. The main difference is that this is a family owned business and it is clear that their customers come first. I would not hesitate to use them again. I am now in the process of looking at their selections of blinds from Hunter Douglas. I highly recommend this company.

We engaged John last November to do knock down ceilings and paint our entire house after he completed a very nice job on a flooring project the year before. This new project did not go well. We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework. A builder friend connected me with Ann at Carpet Resources because we were looking at replacing our…read moreold floor in the laundry/mud room on our lower level. We had some settling and a big fissure had emerged across the hallway. Ann had their expert installer Jeff come over and measure and give us an idea of what it would take to fix it up. The hardest part was choosing a new flooring. Ann was super helpful in letting us take home samples (I had about 20 my first trip), and even had some others sent directly to our house so we could see full sized pieces. In the end we went with vinyl tiles (that look like stone tiles but are much less pricey and a better fit for our space). The total project took about 4 partial days: -day 1: patch and smooth crack -day 2: remove edging and smooth out floor -day 3: apply glue and start laying flooring -day 4: apply grout (an option but it makes it look even more like tile), replace edging (shoe) Workmanship was top notch and Jeff (and his helper, also named Jeff) did an excellent job cleaning up and hauling everything away. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED A couple things you should know about their store in Hopkins: -Location: in a tiny strip mall in the corner past a dollar store just off Main Street -THEY DONT HAVE A WEBSITE (yet)-so best to call and set up an appointment - they have several designers on staff -Store isn't anything fancy, in fact it is pretty small and packed with samples but they know where it all is and have plenty of variety -Ann and the other designers REALLY KNOW THEIR STUFF and can give lots of helpful advice -Prices: I didn't really shop around but my guess is the big box stores are cheaper, but for me, THE EXCELLENT SERVICE AND QUALITY were worth any small extra expense. -They seem to work with a number of builders and those guys usually know quality - they do all kinds of floors including carpet. I've got a number of samples that were just delivered yesterday...thinking of new carpet in the family room.

She stated the person who would install it had to come out in person to our house and agree to do the installation. I explained I had talked to the installer on the phone and he instructed me to call Bob's Binding to get things measured. She refused to schedule anything. I called the installer, who told me who to ask for when I called back. I waiteda week and called Bob's Binding again and got the same woman. She refused to let me talk to the person I asked for and went down the same path. This time I lied and said the installer had been out to our house in person and we had a straight staircase (she had previously acted like they don't help if you have a landing or turn in the steps). Finally got an appointment and Nate came out to measure. He was awesome! Very nice and knew what he was doing. Then we waited and waited and never heard anything from Bob's again. I finally sent an email asking about our order and it was all done but apparently they were never going to let me know. With the exception of Nate, it was not a good experience and the woman answering the phone was really rude.
