The first company told us that the floors were too old & worn and that the only way we could refresh them was to rip out the original floors and replace them with modern panels. We mentioned how sad we were to lose our original floorboards to a friend and they suggested we reach out to Adam at Wood Vitalize. I'm glad we did! Adam came to the house and, immediately after saying hello, got down on his hands and knees to give them a close look. He helped us to pick an option that would protect the floors and give them some new life, without sanding off the character they'd gotten over the last 90 years. He also helped ensure the rose inlay in the original floors wouldn't get destroyed with his process (other flooring companies had told it was unsaveable). Wood Vitalize's quote for the work was reasonable and they even replaced a few floorboards that had gone rotten underneath the radiator without charge (thanks again!). They were able to do all the floors in our 3/2 townhouse in one day (arrived on time, stayed late until it was done). I'm very pleased with their work and owe our friend who referred them a big thank you! So I'm passing it forward. If you've got floors with history and you want to keep them don't let someone talk you into ripping them out until you talk to Adam!

He was able to work with the co-op management's strict rules around prohibited products and provided a quote and COI quickly. I also never felt pressured into upsells or anything shady during the process. Our floors look brand new and areas that were damaged by radiators are now smooth again. We will happily work with Wood Vitalize again in the future.

She was sharp and insightful and not bothered by my 7 year old running around the store (she even offered him a bag of chips) Sam worked with my budget and her communication was on point. I HIGHLY recommend this LL Flooring location for all of your home and business remodeling needs.

It was pitched as a "luxury" option meant to last, and the invoice literally says "Lifetime Warranty" right under the product description. Fast forward 5 years later, and the floor is completely falling apart under normal daily use. It's thin, cheap, and garbage quality. When I tried to actually use that lifetime warranty, they basically told me too bad. The company used a bankruptcy filing to legally wipe out all their promises to past customers, and then the original founder bought the brand assets back to keep selling the same stuff to new people under the same name. They kept the name, they kept the stores, but they threw away any responsibility for the products they sold. If they won't honor the warranties on the floors that failed, they don't deserve a single dime of your money. Go somewhere else.

I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. Extremely disappointed with him and his lack of response.

After being referred to Armando Moreno by our friend/real estate agent (whom we sincerely trust), we contracted him to paint the entire apartment (top to bottom, bathrooms, hallways, closets, ceilings, everything) and sand/refinish the wood floors. He gave us a VERY competitive price (we got quotes from a few other local contractors) and he assured my wife and I would be very pleased at the end. After 6 days, he had the entire place DONE. The apartment looks BRAND NEW. No exaggeration...it literally looks like a new apartment. We didn't expect the floors to look much different than before, but the wood looks brand new now. I wish I took a "before/after" photo to compare. Armando, his sons, and his team were so meticulous with the entire job. Armando told me he loves what he does and it realllly shows in his work. He also told me he treats every job as if he was working on his own home and after seeing what he did to our home, it's evident. Dealing with Armando was very easy and refreshing. After chatting with him for a bit, I had no doubt I was dealing with a man of good morals, who was honest, and a true professional. At the end of the day, he's a family man that wants to take care of his family. So when he says he will do the job right, he WILL. Wish I could give Moreno and sons 100 stars. No, 1,000,000 stars. I almost never feel compelled to write reviews...this is only my 2nd one since signing up for Yelp. But after Armando and his crew completed work on our apartment, I felt it was necessary to let others know about him. If our friend hadn't told us about Armando, we would have been shopping around and could've hired a "hit or miss" contractor. I, without an ounce of hesitation, recommend Armando's services a million percent. I know he does work in the general New York City area, but not exactly sure where else he covers. If you need work on your home and aren't sure who to go to, do yourself a favor; go with Armando.

I had some wood floor damage due to a water leak on my central ac/heating unit in my living room and I gotta call a pro before it gets worse . The 3 free estimates that I got were extremely expensive and all 3 places wanted to replace the whole living room floor at the cost of 5100, 5200 and 5400, which I said thanks but no thanks . Finally Morenos and sons made it all work out in a honest and price friendly manner. Everything was explained to me in layman's term and the work was completed in 2 days and job was done first class as floor looks shiny and new. I would recommend moreno and sons floor service for the upfront honest quote, quality of work, reasonable cost ,and most important, they won't rip you off with unneeded work. 4.5 stars on my yelp meter.

Top notch service and pricing all around! I went in right at the start of phase two to get carpet…read morefor my rentals and the owner, Jimmy was a true gentleman. Great selection of carpets. Get this-I had to convince HIM to sell ME a more expensive carpet, lol. I had been to two other carpet places in the Bronx and Scarsdale and with out even mentioning that or price, jimmy blew them out of the water on price! Serious by over $1000.00! Out of the gate I was saving over $1,000.00 and getting exactly what I wanted. I though to my self what's the catch? Let's talk service. I paid in full up front-something a small business owner never does but appreciates. From one small businessman to another I felt I could trust jimmy. I was right. I sat and watched as he went through his Rolodex and made absolutely certain he had an installer for my job AND a back up just in case. It was no dog and pony show. I voiced my concerns about having the job done by a certain day and he made sure it would happen. Day of the install. Jimmy called me no fewer than three times to let me know the installers were Enroute, to check the work once they got there and make sure I was satisfied after they left. The installers did an amazing job and I know my tenants will be happy. Jimmy has the basics down and then some. Great selection, great pricing and amazing customer service. Seriously, if you need floors. Go to this place.

Ralphie came to my home and got to work right away for two days in a row. The good, Ralphie put molding around my basement walls. He also went above and beyond to place drafting round my basement door as well as my laundry door. However, now my laundry door will NOT close. Ralphie also told me he couldn't get behind my dryer because of some elbow pipe but my contractor came to my home and pulled the dryer right out the wall with no problem. I didn't like how he left an uncovered space as well as an uneven floor in my basement. One day I went outside and saw trash in my backyard. I asked Ralphie if they take out the trash and he told me no, they do NOT take out the trash which I thought was weired. I keep my patio cushions in trash bags and someone from his team, took my cushions out of the trash bags and used them to throw away the trash his team created which I thought was unprofessional. Lastly, I have a lot of candles. Someone from his team broke at least 6 of them but didn't say anything. It wasn't until I started cleaning up, I noticed what happened. Ralphie was supposed to come to my home to fix my laundry door to have it closed and he has not done so as of yet. Again, I was expecting a little more especially for the price I paid. Would I hire them again, probably not. Pros: On time Professional Fast Added extra features Cons: They do not through out your trash Didn't complete my entire laundry floor Used my own trash bags broke my 6 of my candles and did not say anything.
