We're only halfway through our remodel with Hayden at Flooring America, but I couldn't wait any longer to leave this review! It all started when we ran into Bonnie and were telling her about our upcoming kitchen remodel. She immediately said, "You have to meet Hayden." We're so glad we did! What started as a kitchen remodel quickly turned into a kitchen, dining room, and master bath remodel. Hayden has brought so many great ideas to the project--classy, timeless, and exactly the look we were hoping for. She has also kept us on track throughout the entire process. - And keep in mind, we shopped at a big-box store first. You really aren't comparing apples to apples. The quality of the products, the level of design, having Hayden on-site, and having someone actually overseeing the project and paying attention to all the details is priceless. There is a huge difference between simply buying materials and having someone help you put the entire project together. We recently ran into an unexpected water-damage issue on our end that has stalled some of the construction. Hayden and her team have gone above and beyond to help us figure things out--even coming in on their day off. That tells you a lot about the kind of people they are. I can clearly see why Bonnie hired Hayden. Not only is she a great designer, she's genuinely a great person. Hayden may be young, but she is driven, professional, talented, and truly cares about her clients. I hope this next part comes across the way I mean it--and since Hayden has jokingly called me old, I think I'm allowed to say it! Christina and I don't have kids, but if we had a daughter, I would hope she would be a lot like Hayden. I really can't give someone a better compliment than that. So, if you have a project coming up, stop in and ask for Hayden. You will not regret it! Working with Hayden and Flooring America has been one of the best decisions we've made for this remodel. We'll add pictures soon... once we get this thing finished! read more

Service was outstanding in every way when Flooring America upgraded my whole house with new wood-like flooring! I couldn't be happier with the appearance and the quality and attention to detail by the installers! No one could have done it any better! Thanks, Flooring America! read more

We recently completed a flooring project, and as first-time customers replacing flooring, we couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. From beginning to end, Alex guided us through every step--selection, scheduling, ordering, demo, and final installation. What could have felt overwhelming was instead smooth, and organized throughout. This was a two-phase project covering over 800 square feet, and both phases were handled with professionalism and care. The crews were efficient, punctual, and respectful of our space, always leaving things clean and orderly at the end of each day. The product quality, pricing, and overall customer experience exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them to anyone considering a flooring project. Thank you for making this such a positive experience! read more

Alex has been super helpful trying to help us find the right match of tile for our existing flooring, even taking the effort to call various locations locally to see if anyone has something similar - it has saved us a ton of time. Thank you Alex! And thank you to Cameron for helping us in Alex' absence when we stopped by. Great Team at Flooring America in San J read more

We had three floors installed in our home by Flooring America. It was a bad experience, a total of $13,000 worth of work. The dinning room is ceramic tile, and the family and living rooms are oak hardwood. The dinning room turned out okay, except that the job was delayed two weeks due to material not being ordered properly. The family room and the living room were rushed and there is a lack of attention to detail. The ends of the word planks are not touching together in many area and the quarter round is not even stained the same tone going around the rooms. A really poor job. It also took forever to get scheduled for the installation. I would not recommend this vendor. read more

Flooring America - improper installation, gaps likes this on many ends. - Carpeting Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

We replaced all of the flooring in a newly purchased home. I knew what I wanted and Flooring America on San Jose came through with exactly what I was looking for and had the best price of all of the estimates we received. I called numerous places before I went to their stores and noticed a notation in my notes after we decided to hire them that said "nicest and most helpful" by Flooring America. We dealt with Kevin and he was amazing! He went above and beyond to meet and exceed our expectations. His customer care is hard to find these days. I ordered Karastan carpet, hardwood and Travertine tile. All of the workers were very professional, kind and cleaned up afterwards. If I ever need more work done, I will definitely do business with them again! read more

KITCHEN REMODEL!!! It was a miracle from the heavens above that I found this place, it's like a hidden gem! They don't really advertise their cabinet business enough and I'm not sure why. I just happened to pass by this place one day and was honestly just looking to see if they sold countertops. I was in the middle of a new design for my kitchen and wanted to price countertops. I stopped in and Ana came over to greet me. I told her I was working with Lowe's on a remodel and she convinced me to let her price it out as well. Why not, I thought?! Well let me tell you, it was the best thing to ever happen to me! Ana designed the PERFECT kitchen for me and did it down to the last and tiniest detail. It's like getting a white glove service versus me trying to do it all myself. This was the THIRD company I priced my kitchen with and the ONLY place that did EVERYTHING for me. They helped me get contractor quotes, offered me selections on everything I needed and Ana supervised the entire project. I am so grateful to her and her team. My kitchen is so beautiful and I could have never designed it this way by myself. Do yourself a favor and go see Ana at Flooring America. She has something like 30 years of experience and let me tell you, she listens to you and notices every little detail. I was blown away at her skills and professionalism. You will not be disappointed! read more

A year and a half ago we spent $5,000 on a new bedroom carpet from Flooring America. We noticed immediately the bad craftmanship. There is a huge line through the whole rug where they patched it together. It is really noticeable because you see it when you first enter the room. There are gaps against the walls as the carpet isn't flush against it. As time went on, the rug began to deteriorate and fall apart. Although we paid full price for new carpet, it is obvious that this one was left in a storeroom for many years. It's only been a year and a half, and we already have to replace it. We are small people and only walk on the rug in socks, so there is no reason for this. We complained immediately to the company, and they said they would be in contact with us, but they never were. What a disappointment and waste of $5,000. read more

There will be a two-part to this survey. Not very happy as of now.... spent nearly $4,000 on flooring. The installers did not finish the job of installing the molding around the fireplace. Come to find out there's an area in my living room that was wiped down but apparently with a dirty cloth which had glue on it. Trying to sell it now I have to wait for the repairs from Flooring America. Part 2- Flooring America corrected the issues with the floor and the area around the fireplace. Would recommend them. I hope they will in the future have the job finished from the beginning versus having to come back to correct. For that im giving four stars versus five. read more

I see that the owner Bonnie Fenwick responsed to my Better Business Bureau complaint by acknowleding I took my business to a MUCH better flooring company. That's all well and good but again she refused to address her company's desire to keep $1,181 of my deposit that was unauthorized. Hopefully the BBB will force her hand and this is an indication that no one should use Flooring America but instead go to Carpet Man who did an OUTSTANDING job in my home. read more

Got our floors done there and chose the laminate with a 50 year warranty. When we called to see about getting a repair they first said they couldn't find us and we didn't get our flooring from them. We called some other places near the location and confirmed it was definitely flooring America so we called back and this time they suddenly took the time to find our name and purchase. Then the guy acted like I was an idiot for inquiring about the warranty because there are no warranties on any laminates. That's not the info we received when making the purchase so I asked who I needed to speak to and he said he'd have our salesman call us. They never called, and after that experience I think we'll just pay for someone else to do the work. Because, on another note, they WAY overestimated our square footage so we ended out with 10 boxes of flooring that they wouldn't take back or credit us for. So we have plenty of extra material to hire the job out to someone who won't treat us so poorly. read more

Poor customer service with exorbitant prices & limited options. As soon as I mentioned our budget we were deserted with samples scattered about for the first customer that walked into the door. We wound up leaving after standing around waiting for her to get back to us, super disappointed. Unfortunate for Flooring America because we left a nearby flooring store with $3,000 worth of product 30 minutes later. read more

Worst Experience EVER! Lack of communication and scheduling problems took all the excitement out of the updated look and flooring. The issue was turned over to Bonnie, the "regional VP" was very patronizing in handling the situation. It appears to once you signed the contract they had no more concern for the customer, it is what it is. They expect you to just deal with the inconvenience. One would think when an issue is sent to someone above store level, you would be made to feel important and they would do what it takes to make the situation better. Not here, and definitely not Bonnie. read more

We shopped a few stores, but sales people were not very good. But from the time we walked into Flooring America (Plummer Cove Rd location) Rebecca gave us appropriate attention. After we got settled in and looked around, she educated us on "wood floor" products. Once she learned we had 2 dogs, she strongly recommended an Armstrong product. Installation was scheduled and crew arrived right on time. They were professional and did a flawless job! Rebecca came back to our house to see the work. That's impressive. This is how a shopping and installation experience should be. read more

Had flooring America in mandarin install carpet in four rooms in our river front home. Within months the carpet began bubbling assuming from shoddy installation techniques. Called them and they basically said deal with it and it would cost us money for them to come out and fix. When we have to replace this carpet which will have to be soon because of how bad the folding and bubbling is getting, we will not be using Flooring America. UPDATE: Flooring America contacted us and arranged to fix our carpet issues. I've raised the review stars to reflect their commitment to solving our issue. read more

Last year we used Flooring America for a kitchen tile job. Chris L. was our salesperson. He could not have been any nicer or accommodating. The job went well without any issues. The installer showed up on time and did a great job. We will be using them again for a larger wood flooring project shortly. Will let you know how it goes. read more

Steer Clear!!! We met with Rebecca on Saturday afternoon. We agreed on a Price for Vinyl Flooring and Karastan Carpet. A Very Expensive Purchase! We had other Quotes but agreed to wait until Wednesday when Rebecca was scheduled to come to the House to perform final measurements. She sent a text Wednesday at 1:00 to Cancel the appointment. The reason was that "she was canceling the Quote" because it was to low and she "Did Not Want to Get in Trouble with her Boss" WTF! So UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Waiting until right before our Appointment!!! I'm in Sales, things happen. You try and accommodate your Customer. Not Whine about getting into trouble with your Boss!! She has done nothing, no contact, no options, again SO UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

I hired Flooring America in November 2016 to install tile and carpet in a condo that I had just purchased. I had a very tight timeline to get the job done before I had to move in my furniture and they were the only company I spoke to that could complete the job in time. I worked primarily with Kevin Russo. He was challenging, and that's being generous. My mother spoke with him first while I was at work, to establish that they could complete the job within my timeline. From then on, she was the only person he would speak to. If something came up, he called her instead of his paying customer. When I expressed a concern, instead of answering my questions he told me "Don't worry, your mom and I talked about it." I was never once treated like the customer, despite the fact that it was my money and my project. He was incredibly condescending throughout the experience. Due to the HOA rules in my building, upstairs units are required to lay ¼ inch of soundproofing beneath tile. I understand that it may be an unusual request, but as an HOA requirement there was no way around it. Kevin R was combative and incredibly difficult to talk to about the situation, insisting that they shouldn't need to do it, that they would just lay down what looked like a thin layer of plastic that was nowhere near ¼ inch. It wasn't until I told him it was a deal breaker and he would lose my business without the ¼ in underlayment that he relented. I believed I had found the correct product to use, and he ordered it without further question. When the underlayment arrived I realized that it was not the required ¼ in thick and needed to be replaced with cork. It was my error, however, I can't help but believe that if Kevin R had listened to the needs of his customer and worked with me instead of against me that the situation could have been avoided from the start. He assured me that the product could be returned and that I would receive a refund in about a month. It has been 6 months and I have STILL not seen a penny of the $1100+ I paid for the underlayment. Each time I call he assures me that he is working on it and will follow up with me in a couple of weeks. He never has. I am now out both the product and the cash. No follow up when messages are left for the store manager, either. Additionally, I am still not convinced that the carpet edge that was laid against the tile is correct - there are gaps between the carpet and the tile, large enough to stub a toe on. The contractor they sent out after I called about the problem stated that it was because the tile was ¼ inch higher due to the underlayment, but I have a very difficult time believing there is absolutely nothing they could do to raise the edge of the carpet ¼ inch and create a smooth transition. They have been unwilling to work with me to repair that issue as well, simply stating that they did what they were supposed to. The only positive thing I can say for this company is that the contractor they hired to lay the tile worked tirelessly to get the job done on time, and did a beautiful job with the tile floors. Next time, I will go straight to this contractor and skip the middle man. Very frustrating company to work with. UPDATE: I did finally receive a call from the store manager (Kevin Vaughn) in response to this review. He was quite helpful and friendly over the phone. Within a few weeks of initially posting this review they had taken care of the refund and the carpet edge (just needed an extra tack strip, took less than 10 minutes), and they waived the restocking fee for the returned underlayment due to the delay. I'll give them one additional star for finally finishing the job. read more

The work is shabby, poor quality materials (some mismatched) and not worth the price. Choose another flooring company that is trustworthy.
