My husband and I went to East Coast Floats as a gift to ourselves for Christmas. We were very impressed with the facility, both in cleanliness and service. It's located in lovely Baldwin Park in the middle of a beautiful street lined with shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Well, if I could give 0 stars I would- this shoddy company has little concern for its customers and is interested only in taking your money! How could I say this? Well my wife bought me a gift certificate for the place last year for my birthday - one deployment, an injury and then surgery, and I'm finally back up and available but having just missed the cutoff date, I call to see if they would "honor" the paid certificate ( or even allow me a discounted rate) and the lovely woman on the phone said that there was nothing she could do and that her manager ( who I was not even allowed to speak to) agreed with her. She said that they had run into this problem a few times already and were not allowing anyone any leeway! So they have taken the money, and rather than grant some customers who may become returning customers, turn their backs and pocket the money- having done nothing other than print up a piece of useless paper. A Class act that shows a strong example of this Company's enduring principle: "The Customer is always wrong! " Not only would I never frequent this business and counsel all my friends to avoid this place - but I suggest you do too. 09/26/16 - After a response from Management granting me the original value of the gift certificate, I am updating my review and will post another after I use it at this business. It appears that there was an anomaly to the software which creates the gift certificates and likely the staff has been advised as to the new policy regarding expiration dates and gift certificates... I experienced my first float at East Coast Floats tonight. I've been wanting to try it for a while. It was definitely a great experience and I will for sure be back. Booking an appointment online was quick and easy. I also used a Groupon as well. Can't beat that. I called and was able to get in an hour before my booked appointment time. Upon arriving the staff was super nice and helpful. They gave a great and thorough tour and walked me through everything and what to expect. The sign in and waiver is a little tedious as it is on a tablet and the font is very small. Parking can be kind of a pain as it's on the street. You may have to even park down the street or around the corner and walk. The restroom as well as the room I was in was very clean. They also supply you with ear plugs, towels, soap and shampoo as well as some stuff to put on any cuts you may have to keep it from burning in the pod. It was a very relaxing experience as I am not used to that kind of peace and quiet. It's very nice and soothing just laying in the pod butt naked, floating with no effort at all in the pitch black silence. It also makes your skin feel nice and smooth too. A couple of things I found cool is the area in the back where you can do your make up or hair and freshen up after your float. Also the staff offered me and brewed me some fresh hot tea which was delicious. Thanks for making my first float experience a great one. Can't wait to come back. read more

The massage therapist at East Coast Floats, Belint, has magic hands! His massage is better than any of the high end hotels in Orlando. He is extremely professional and truly cares. He asks if you have any issues or injuries and really knows how to work those areas for you. I highly recommend him. I have experienced two floats here so far and had to share what an amazing unique, relaxing experience it was. The staff explained everything thoroughly and put me at ease with some questions I had. If you feel the need to relax and de-stress, give this a try. I felt like I had a great ten hour sleep after one hour of floating. The Epsom salt also made my skin feel very soft. Great 1st time float! Tension reliever & as form of meditation!

I really loved my first float! I couldn't have been more excited and or nervous for it. I was worried 75 minutes was a long time but I really got to a place I needed to be. I love the shower before and after! That was a pleasant surprise, considering I went home to shower prior! I'd love to try out a few other of their offerings or maybe even enjoy the sauna before I float again. Super nice people and an amazing place. I LOVE the floors, lol..looks like the ocean! The place is very clean and calm. The float pods are very large and the rooms are huge with wonderful showers. I had an amazing float and afterward was given a wonderful tea that's organic and made by a lady specifically for East Coast Floats. The two men working there were very nice to me and to the other customers and treated us all like we were very valued. You can tell they take pride in and believe in what they are doing. What an amazing experience. I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to try this... but once I did it I wondered, "where has this been all my life?". The floating sensation was unlike anything I experienced before... it's like you've been set free of your body and your mind is floating in time and space. Aside from the mellow relaxation, just carving out this time for quiet, peaceful, cocooning where nothing from the outside world can get at you is priceless. Plus... the staff is truly down to earth and very nice. They even had tea when I came out. I didn't get to experience the rest of the spa this time, but it looked fabulous. Overall, a disappointing experience. There are pros and cons about the environment (they've just opened up, so I suspect they haven't completed their design of some of the furnishings, etc.) The experience itself was a very stripped-down, transactional process - not a typical "spa experience" associated with float spas. In fact, rather than one-on-one attention, I was one of three (yes, three) people they herded into an orientation to rush through all the requisite operational details. A key part of effective floating (according to their website) is to not feel any difference in temperature between your body, the water, and the air temperature. Major fail here - as the room temperature was significantly cooler than the water. Very distracting. Yes, there were elements that were interesting (the floating sensation is unique), the overall experience was sub-par. Even checking out, they stumbled over payment (the person who collected my paid Groupon evidently didn't inform the check-out Nazi who held me back until they could confirm my paid status (another example of how they seem to focus on what processes are easiest for THEM and not the customer). If you desperately want a float experience, then this seems to be the only game in town...for now. Check it out if you want, but at the current rates charged, it is a rip-off, in my opinion. (Hopefully, they will work to improve the whole experience soon). Two "thanks for trying...a little" stars. read more
