Luxury is an overused word but when you see a spa calling itself that you have certain expectations and Float do not meet those. I had The Works facial ,50 mins and it was really good. My skin did not break out after and feels soft and looks good so I recommend that treatment. Is it worth $180? I would expect certain luxury products and a tailor made service and I did not get that. But the area that Float really fails on is the spa experience. The changing rooms is one small room with no cubicles, no curtains, no privacy. There were four other women in there with me including an elderly lady who I really felt sorry for as we all had to strip off for our treatments huddled together . Worse than that the member of staff who brought customers in kept leaving the door open..open to people arriving . Men just walking by an open Women's changing room. Is that luxury? It was a very uncomfortable experience. The opposite of what a spa should be. I went on a busy day so if you do decide to go, choose a quiet day and I imagine it will be a different experience. For Downtown it is convenient and quick. If you want a real luxury spa there are other choices in Goleta and Montecito worth the short trip and worth the money. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Float Luxury Spa. The first day, I went for the reflexology foot massage. That was so amazing that I returned the following day for their signature massage where I asked them to focus on my head, neck and shoulders. I left totally relaxed and happy that the masseuses were both talented and professional. I like that you had the opportunity to let your masseuse know whether you wanted small talk or silence. I did not like that they automatically added a 30% tip onto my bill for the masseuse, even though I was going to leave a tip myself. The facility itself was calm, pleasant, and relaxing. When you walk in, you're greeted by very kind people at the front desk, offered a robe and slippers, then directed to the locker room. You get a complimentary locker for your items and will sit in either the outside garden area or upstairs near a fireplace. We had the 50 minute signature couples massage and it was fantastic! Highly recommend a 75min massage with Fatima at the new Beachfront Hilton location. Her warmth and attention to my tight shoulders put me to sleep. And just when I think we're coming to the end, she flips me over for another round of relaxation as all my stress melted away. This is a small yet clean and quiet location with a beautiful sun filled patio. No steam or sauna facilities, so the prices are much more reasonable compared to other hotel spas in the area. This review is for the Waterfront location. We have been to the downtown Santa Barbara location but felt like there wasn't ample space to relax before and after and the locker room is cramped. We were excited to try the new location at the Hilton, imagining a larger space. The outside area to relax before/after is a small patio. Only two chairs are under an umbrella, so if the sun is out, the majority is in direct sun. There was a water feature at one time, which would have been much nicer than the succulents planted there. It might have distracted us from the sound of suitcases being wheeled over tiles. There was also a protest going on but can't fault the space for that. Just didn't set the mood. There isn't really an indoor area to relax in, or it wasn't shown to us. But I wonder where you go when it's raining or cold. The massage was lovely, albeit punctuated by the rattling of a metal grate for 75 minutes. The locker room was perhaps smaller than downtown. There was one shower stall and while there was shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, there was no lotion or a hair dryer for after. I left the locker room with parched skin and wet hair, not necessarily ready for the rest of my day's activities. If that was mentioned beforehand I would've brought my own items, although I didn't notice an outlet I could've used. All in all it was nice, but definitely not what I expected. I wonder if the Mandalay Bay location is more what I'm looking for. read more

The massages were mediocre, one staff member in particular was VERY rude, and the locker room had a giant wad of hair in the shower (we were the first appt of the day- the shower hadn't been used yet). From the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed at Float. There is a great sense of calm in the Spa. The front desk knew who we were and happily guilted us back to the locker room where we could get comfy in lovely robes as was told we could choose inside by the fire side or outside by the garden pond. Our massage therapist's would find us ! I was booked for a 75 minute Float Signature massage with Jenneil. I have had an extremely stressful 4 months and had high hopes of some distressing , mostly I needed to give back to my body some TLC big time. Jenneil was so warm & friendly . She asked me questions that helped her to understand what my body needed. Jenneil listened and clearly understood . I fell into her healing hands and honestly had the best massage EVER! I was hesitant to go with Edyta after Susan had done such a wonderful job on my neck last summer, but Edyta really knows her anatomy and how the body works! She did wonders with my knees and hips due to a low back injury and listened to me blab about my life like a good friend. I didn't want it to be over. I'm amazed what a trained massage therapist can do to help people with chronic pain. If only it were less expensive and closer to home. Both therapists I've had at this spa were knowledgeable, helpful, and effective. It's expensive, but if you can treat yourself I'd highly recommend Edyta or Susan and the Euphoria massage. I visited the spa yesterday for my birthday with my sister and cousin. The lady who booked our services over the phone was wonderful and provided a smooth experience. The check in process when we arrived was great and we felt very welcomed. We scheduled the jet boots prior to our massages and were escorted to a sitting area near the fireplace. While there we were chatting amongst each other and discussing how excited we were. An older lady who worked there made us a bit uncomfortable and kept walking passed us giving us dirty looks, did not offer a greeting even when we tried to be friendly and she just continued to pass by us numerous time giving us dirty looks and she even complained to front desk staff and asked them to come upstairs to tell us to be quiet. She refused to speak to use or acknowledge us and she is staff there. That was a weird moment but again the front desk staff was really apologetic and offered the jets boots as a complimented services due to the incident. We received massages from Daniel, Jessica and Tanya and nothing but high praises!! I would recommend Float although one staff could have possible ruined our experience, everyone else made up for it! read more
