So the space is nice. However, I was given my service outside, and for me it was too loud. It was hard to rest when you hear the sounds (trucks backing up, car horns, car alarms, etc) going off. I had Ted who was super friendly and tried his best to accommodate the concern. He then proceeded to play relaxing music in the background, because he too recognized it was loud I just feel if I was at least prepared prior to the appointment, then I would not have felt so caught off guard, and more relaxed about the services. read more

The services were great. Loved my masseuse! We came from out of town in a group for a wedding party in March. It was unfortunate that it was quite windy out (Mand we were unable to enjoy the outdoor lounging area. We stayed indoors in the smaller lounge with other guests which became crowded fast. Also, being from out of town I hadn't realized they don't have full amenities (steam room, sauna). We had a great time and the massages/facials were great, I just wish there were more space to include full amenities. Something I also loved was that they not only had hand sanitizer but also a cleaner for your credit cards. read more

I had a facial and prenatal massage at 35 weeks. I previously had a prenatal massage at 20 weeks and I enjoyed it so much I knew I'd want another one. I really appreciated that the staff listened to my request to have a step stool in the room because I'm short and super pregnant and need some help getting up on the table. The staff also told me they'd help me if I needed it. The gal giving me the facial was also pregnant, so we had a lot to chat about, and by the time my massage started I was chatted out and I'm pretty sure I fell asleep at one point it was so relaxing. The facial (The Works) featured a cooling mask that was just delightful, especially because I've been so warm with the pregnancy hormones, and the massage ended with hot towels on my feet and a foot massage, so I really got the best of all worlds! I'll definitely be back again (probably postpartum, though). The lounge is comfortable with fruit infused water and a fireplace, the staff is nice, and the prices are comparable with other places in town. All in all, a great experience. One note, though: it is surprising that there isn't a maternity package. What mom-to-be DOESN'T want a facial and massage? It'd be great if you could simply book the package and not have to worry about booking two appointments. read more

Spent a girls weekend in SB and had booked massages at Float since the hotel spa was closed. I had originally booked the Signature massage but told Melissa I think the deep tissue may be better. She obliged and off she went tending to the numerous knots and tension all over. The room was simple enough albeit clean and smelt pleasant. I chose the orange blossom oil and the scent was light enough to relax but fragrant enough to revive my senses. Melissa really went for the troubled spots and although it was painful at times she took care to ensure she could smooth them out. If ever back in SB I will definitely make a point to see Melissa. read more

I booked this spa for a bachelorette party, and it did not disappoint. I got the best deep tissue massage I have ever had, and I have had a lot of great deep tissue massages. My muscles are very tense and hard to work on due to weightlifting, and so to find someone who can make significant progress in my recovery is really something. Massage was great from Daniel, highly recommend him ! I had mellow mama, only thing I would suggest is to not be afraid to put pressure on a pregnant women. I think a lot of therapist hesitate, but pregnancy puts a lot of pain in your body and we need the extra pressure. I asked my therapist to provide more pressure and he did fantastic ! Thank you ! The ambiance here is amazing. I felt so relaxed from the moment I stepped in, and the massage I received was incredible. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because I added on a scalp treatment during the massage, which consisted of the massage therapist pouring oil all over my head. After, I wasn't able to shower, so I just walked home with a wet, oily head. It made the experience pretty awful, to be honest. I am not sure why you would do that and then send someone home with wet hair? I'd definitely come here for a massage but don't do the scalp treatment. read more

Got the couples massage and the staff was very nice and friendly. We were welcomed to relax in their garden after the massage which allowed us to wake up slowly while surrounded by a serene garden. All staff is wearing masks and they even have an outdoor cabana (with curtains for privacy) in the relaxing garden if you feel safer getting a massage with more ventilation. I am thrilled with my results after receiving the luxe 80 minute facial last week. The treatment was pleasant, the esthetician (I can't remember her name!) was absolutely lovely to talk to and walked me through ever step of the session. I especially loved that there was zero solicitation involved. I have avoided facials for years now because I got sick of being given treatment/care suggestions and someone trying to sell me product. Without this involved we were able to focus on my actual treatment taking place, enjoy each others company and leave the appointment feeling completely refreshed. And I honestly don't think my skin has ever looked better. I'm quite critical and cynical when it comes to treatments that boast immediate and lasting visible results but a week later and it keeps improving. My pores are smaller, my skin tone is much brighter and I just look more rejuvenated that I have in a long time. Highly recommend this facial :) I also received the body wrap service and it was a bit less involved than I had expected. I personally prefer a pretty thorough and vigorous dry body brushing and it was a few strokes in each area before applying lotion and wrapping me up. I'd probably choose a different body service or request extra dry brushing next time around. read more

Went with my sister and niece for 80 minutes massages. We were waiting in the upstairs lounge area by the fire and were having a conversation - like normal people do. And a massage therapist comes out from a door by the fireplace. She then proceeds to give us "dirty" looks and puts her finger to her mouth shushing us. First of all, we aren't 3rd graders - no need to shush us - you can speak to us like adults. Secondly, if there was a "sign" that indicated that this was a "quiet" sitting area, we would have obligated. So, with that said, I hope that they would change up their signage and teach their therapist to communicate like adults. There are other day spas in the area that we will be going to instead of Float. On another note, my massage therapist was wonderful. (Jazmin - thank you for saving this review! This little building holds a big surprise-a beautiful day spa with gracious service and a luxury experience of relaxation and care. From the minute I booked our day, we were treated extremely well. On arrival we were ushered in, made comfortable in a beautiful waiting room with a fire, and then experienced a range of pampering treatments. The facial was amazing, and included handwarmers and gentle foot massage. The deep tissue massage could've been a bit deeper, but still left me feeling well cared for and relaxed. I heard other patrons talking about how amazing their hot stone massages were-so that will be on the menu for me next time!! The front of the building where Float is looks entirely unremarkable. Although, it is a very nice establishment and the staff are friendly. I was disappointed with the services. My husband had booked their special of a couple's massage with facials. Our massages were fair, I've had much better ones and far more relaxing. When it came to get our facials we were told that these hadn't been scheduled as part of our service. Not were they able to accommodate us, as they only had one esthetician working. Luckily, they didn't charge us for the facials, but it was still very disappointing since we were both looking forward to a much needed spa day. read more

Amazing experience. I was visiting from Long Beach, CA and decided to give this spa a try. It exceeded my expectations. I got the Float 50 minute massage with an add on foot scrub. My masseuse Jasmine was kind, explained everything she was going to do and did exactly what I asked. You are warmly greeted as you walk in by the front desk staff. The spa is clean and decorated beautifully. The prices are beyond reasonable or I may just be accustomed to higher prices is Los Angeles County. I will be back without a doubt. Unfortunately I did not love my experience and would not recommend the facial for sensitive skin. I don't usually write negative reviews and low maintenance when it comes to spas (any relaxation is heaven for me!) but I hope my review is helpful for those on the fence/going in for a particular issue. I went in with some irritation / sunburn and thought it would be a soothing facial per their description online. When I arrived, the esthetician was super kind but didn't ask about any of my concerns so I assumed she had everything in front of her. Two things seemed pretty off for a sensitive skin facial: the cleanser used was strongly scented (it could have been natural but again, I knew nothing about any of the products used) and she used a physical exfoliant that felt like those St Ives walnut scrubs. Usually when I go into sensitive skin facials, rule number one is only use a gentle natural "chemical" (liquid/enzyme) exfoliant. Also they usually offer sunscreen after the facial since you just scrubbed a couple layers off, but that didn't happen here despite it being an early morning facial (i guess a plus side of covid is I had a face mask to cover?!) My skin has been pretty irritated since. There was also no extractions done, though that could be omitted from the sensitive skin routine? Again I have no idea what was used or done. I also added on a scalp massage and told three people: the women who made my reservation over the phone, the front desk when I checked in and my esthetician. At no point did they remind me that I couldn't shower after and that I might want to reconsider. Totally appreciate them wanting to be safe during COVID and they mentioned the no shower thing on their website but it would have been cool if someone brought it up because I spent the rest of the day with a super oily head. My sense is that this is an amazing place for massages and relaxation but this felt more like a chain spa and not a skin spa with real expertise. On the plus side, the facilities seem awesome and relaxing and the staff was really nice. The esthetician gave me an amazing neck and arm massage. I wouldn't mind coming back post-covid for a massage. read more

A group of friends and I stayed in Santa Barbara and booked services for all of us last minute here. Float (especially Natalie) was so accommodating and despite the last minute request to fit six different people in for services, they were flexible and worked with us to find time for all of us to have massages and facials. Everyone in my group was extremely satisfied with the service they received. I had a fabulous facial from Tatiana. She is extremely knowledgeable, lovely to chat with, and gave an amazing facial massage. My friend also had a facial from Tatiana and gave her rave reviews. I also had a massage with David who was incredible- very friendly, made me feel very comfortable and the deep massage was the perfect amount of pressure and attention to the areas I asked him to focus on. My friends had massages with Derrick and Eric and were very happy with the massages they received. In addition to the great service, Float adhered to COVID protocols and the spa felt very clean, well-kept, and peaceful. Overall, I can't recommend Float more. I can't believe how much they bent over backward to accommodate all of us, and based on that alone I would have given five stars, but the massages and facials all lived up to our highest expectations. read more

Scheduled a deep tissue massage here right before Christmas to help remove some of the holiday season tension. Was greeted with a friendly smile and really enjoyed the sitting room with the fireplace. My massage was great but not as relaxing as I hoped. I found the room and massage cream to be a little to cool to really relax. I also was disappointed in the cool in temperature locker room which was not extremely inviting. All though there were products to use; what I really needed was hairspray to somewhat manage my hair after my massage. The hairspray bottle did not work; when I mentioned it to the receptionist her response was "Oh that still isn't working, we have been having trouble with that". No movement to correct the problem though. I did not give 5 stars because for a place that's on the higher end pricing the quality wasn't there. read more
