Flix Cafe is exactly what its description sounds like -- a restaurant run by students and managed by students. -Key Points- 1) Complete disregard for quality of service and customer satisfaction 2) Sub-Par food 3) Overpriced The quality of food is underwhelming for the price point and is reminiscent of any other college cafeteria food. After trying a good portion of their menu, the only thing that stood out as above average (or sub-par as much of their food goes) is the pizza which is quite good. The quality of service is the main issue that drops Flix down to one star. A perfect example of this is my experience tonight. As i got out of the gym, i ordered a dish of pasta and some breadsticks to pick up and take back to my dorm (comfort food after it had been raining all day). Expecting that the staff would at least somewhat care about customer satisfaction, i assumed that the food would be ready in a reasonable half an hour or so. The food, however, was not ready by then which is understandable because its a Saturday night on a college campus. I waited patiently for the call to come grab my food... but none came. By the time an hour from ordering rolled around, I was a tad bit fed up. I once again asked a staff member about my food and and once again she told me that there was no information as to the location of it. She then stated that the manager "isn't here right now" but that she would let me know when they were. After another 15 minutes, the manager got my attention and told me that the food is prepared upstairs and may not have been moved down to the main area for me to pick it up. She disappeared and then came back a few minutes later with it. By this time it had been almost an hour and a half since ordering. On my way back to my dorm, I tried the food (because i was starving after a century of waiting) and it was LUKEWARM as though it had been sitting out for a decent length of time. The blatant hatred for their jobs and complete disregard for customer service and satisfaction is easily observable on Flix employees' faces and attitudes. Other than the manager, almost no one seemed to know what they were doing and had little to no understanding about how the restaurant that THEY ARE IN CHARGE OF works. My food was an hour and 20 minutes late, they didn't call or anything! I had to call them and they kept giving me different times. Milkshakes were soupy, and frys were soggy by the time it got to us. Very upsetting! read more

Pretty overpriced for what it is. That said if you have RDA or cougar cash this is probably the place for you. It closes quite late, it has delivery and it has quite a bit of options. I really like their milkshakes and their garlic fries. The wait can be ridiculously long. read more

Horrible customer service. Food is never done right and always comes cold!!! My first experience with them my pizza wasn't even cooked it was literally still dough. I will never order from them again it's also way to expensive. It's not even worth it. read more

Its a place ran by college students on a college campus, it is overpriced but for what u see and what you get its not bad. Its a good place if you are a student cause you get the discount but if your a regular person you would have to crave this place in order to pay the high price. Dear Students of WSU, If you want poor service and unfriendly staff, Flix Cafe is the place for you! I waited 45 minutes for a dish that was cold with chicken that was tough and full of gristle. When asking why my food hadn't come yet, I was met with terrible service and rudeness. That is no way to run your business! Furthermore, my friend ordered the chicken wings (which only require an employee to toss them in the fryer for 7ish minutes) received her order a good ten minutes after me, when she ordered before me! In my opinion, if a freshman in their first semester of college for Business Management can give you entire list if what you are doing wrong, you have a serious problem with your restaurant and its time for you to change. Food is ok. If you order line, when they call you to tell you your order is ready, they don't mean it. I've ordered online twice from them, I get a call telling me my food is ready for pickup, but when I go to get my food, it's not ready and I'm waiting 30-50 minutes for my order. When you order online, it'll give you a time also that says when your food will be ready, yeah that's a lie too. I'm done ordering from this place read more

Flix is located on the WSU campus attached to Southside Cafe. It is a great place to study because of the many tables and booths. The beat part about Flix is the Ferdinands milkshakes available after 4:30pm each day. Food is available to order after 7:30pm. They also serve Starbucks coffee throughout the day. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because they only accept Cougar CASH and RDA, so the students that usually use debit/credit cards and cash are out of luck and makes it more difficult. They should also start serving the milkshakes and food earlier in the day. read more

They don't take cash, they got "backed up" and just stopped serving food and taking orders. Seems miss managed still waiting to see how their food tastes but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth to start. read more

Terrible TERRIBLE customer service for many of the employees (Not all, but definitely a few). Also extremely overpriced, and will drain your RDA. Milkshakes and hot food are good, otherwise would not recommend. read more

Literally just waited over 2 hours for a bowl of mediocre pasta...we were told it'd be a 30-minute wait, asked about it after 35-40 minutes, and were told it'd be 45 instead and to "come back in 10 minutes". We stood at the counter to give them a hint and still had to awkwardly stare at the manager and student expeditor who refused to address the issue until someone on the ice cream machine said: "Y'all have been here for a hot minute". This is not the first time Flix has fricked up.....a few weeks ago I ordered a milkshake and had to wait for 25 minutes. I happened to ask the arrogant manager, Dar**n, to make my shake and he told me to pay more attention next time despite the fact that I had been standing at the counter the entire time. I'd just suggest going to Walmart or any cheap store and making it yourself. You'll save time, money, precious RDA, and save the stresses of wondering whether you'll even get your food yet. read more

Since being a WSU Coug going on 4 years now, I've seen this place change frequently and most certainly not for the better. My freshman year, they served milkshakes with real Ferdinand's Ice cream with many flavors to choose from. They also offered up scoops of Ferdinand's ice cream. Now days, there is no Ferdinand's ice cream sold nor is there milkshakes created with ice cream. The milkshakes are now created with a product called shake base which has a crunchy/watery texture that is undesirable for milkshakes. The service is extremely slow even when there aren't many people frequenting the location. Also, the numbering for the orders is quite awful. If you are number three, they will go 2, 7, 99, 1, and 30-1 hour later, they will call your number. I remember when Flix was the place to be where it got so packed throughout the entire year, you couldn't find a place to sit down. Now after the late night craze at the beginning of the year, there aren't as many people frequenting the restaurant. This should speak volumes about how the quality of this place has radically degraded. read more

In response to the previous review they do in fact take debit and credit cards. I used one my self. The burgers are good but you have to go for the milkshakes! Go cougs! read more
