Yesterday I was waiting for takeout from Noori so I stopped by. I'm not a huge fan/reader of comic books but I love pop culture and movies. I ended up buying a large Totoro movie poster for my fiance - all of their posters are only $11.99, which I thought was a good price. They also have manga and other types of books here. The books were in very good condition, I happened to buy 4 of them, and they were all in mylar coverings and very reasonably priced. I was super impressed with the selection, not the size, perhaps, but the quality. There were a lot of things that made me pull them off the shelf and Other people mentioned the guy behind the counter. We greeted each other when I entered, and he was listening to the radio and talking to himself ("the French resistance saving Paris is the biggest myth in history", or something like that) but other than seeming a little strange, he wasn't unfriendly or unprofessional to me. I'm sorry others have had bad experiences here, but I will hop, skip, and jump back here on my next visit to Detroit for some quality used books for my collection. A good mix of hardcovers and paperbacks in a wide range of sections. Prices seemed fair to low compared to what is typical for used bookstores. In addition to books, they also had a small inventory of new books, comic books, CDs, and records. It has a pleasant open atmosphere, but I wouldn't describe it as a cozy place to sit and check out the books. The only downside I have with this place is the parking meters or parking garages. The only used bookstore in the area that comes to mind is that you either must be on foot or pay to park.

I guess this place is fine if you're starting out or just want to grab the latest RSD repress of that album that already has dozens of pressings and leave immediately, but don't bother stopping by if you're looking to dig or get excited because this store has nothing to offer actual collectors.
