I have signed up to do the Camino de Santiago hike in June with several friends. This will be a push for me but I am excited in my training for the hike. I have been expanding my miles with the Brooks that I have but also realized I needed to "find my shoe" and train with that (plus have a back up). Andi got me started with two throughout assessments of my feet. I have had something similar years ago, but no where near as extensive. This alone made the visit highly valuable for me. I came in with an open mind and my goals. She was able to find 3 pairs that fit incredibly where and a whole size larger then I normally choose. The 2 Karhu will be for the hike training and the Altra are for the HIIT gym (where they have already proven to be a big improvement). Along with a sock recommendation, which feels like a perfect marriage. She even measured me for the medium knee brace to help with the gym. I look forward to coming back in the next few months to see how my feet are adapting to the training. Let it be noted, I live in Miami, where there are plenty of similar shops, but I split my time between there and Port Orange and I am always thrilled when I find a awesome place to shop up here. This store is an easy 5 star with it friendly and knowledgeable staff, wide selection and efficient process for selection. Extra bonus for me, all 3 shoes were on sale, so 5 star value also.

I'm actually a size 14!   The foot scan and gait analysis were a great help, and Andi took the time to explain everything without making me feel rushed. She helped me find the perfect pair of Hoka Gaviota 6s, and was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely wanted to make sure I left with the right shoes. I even bought some fancy shoes laces. If you've never been professionally fitted for sneakers, do yourself a favor and visit Fleet Feet in New Smyrna. Your feet will thank you... even if your ego takes a hit when you find out you've been wearing the wrong size all these years!

Not one single worker spoke to me, offered to help me or asked if I needed help. That's so unlike the one in MD where I was greeted immediately and basically had a personal stylist treatment every time I entered. I always bought more than I intended to because of their help and suggestions. I felt so unwelcome and unwanted here. That's a shame. I guess I'll take my money to another boutique. This was a total pretty woman moment and you lost a huge sale as I was overdue and loved the purple colors.

I already searched online and the prices were insane so I figured I would check the outlet for more reasonable prices. The first price I saw for a pair of sneakers was $90. Holy shit! I decided to explore further and found better prices. They also had promotions going on, like either BOGO or buy 1 get 1 half off. I was specifically looking for slip ons and especially slip ons that were comfortable. I was working in a prison so we had to take our shoes off multiple times getting into work. I was also walking a lot so comfort was a big factor. When I went to check out, the cashier was so friendly and offered to sign me up for their rewards program so I saved some extra cash. That was cool. I only wore one of the pairs and wore them basically every day I worked. My back did not hurt and they were extremely lightweight. Unfortunately, my feet got soaked whenever it rained because that's how thin layered they were.

After spending nearly $300 with them, they then asked us: "would you like to buy a bag, or carry out? We don't offer bags anymore." Hmmm, okayyyyy. After watching my wife drop her loose pieces, we stopped in another store, where they felt so bad they gave us two bags. Now...which of these retail stores do you think will get our loyalty next time? DSW used to be a hip, customer-focused, deal-infused place to go vs. other retailers. I think they are trying to cut their way to growth--never a good strategy, and we are feeling it as customers. Pretty sure this is our last visit to this store for long time, if ever. Hope you enjoy the $.05 you saved on bags.
