After trying out several classes, I worked with the instructors to determine what would work best for me as I was recovering from a back injury. Sean Waldie's Eldoa classes became my go to. His knowledgeable and passionate approach to his craft made the difference for me. He made sure we all knew what the exercises were that we were doing, why we were doing them and how to get the most out of each class. He even filmed me performing my personalized stretches using my phone while explaining each step, so I could do these exercises at home. Sean is an inspiration, and I can't recommend his classes enough... no matter who you are. The Loft is one of the things I will miss most in the Junction when I move. If you are curious, drop in and I promise you won't be disappointed.

The instructors are amazing and every class that I have done has fundamentally changed my approach to Pilates. They are so excellent, and can detect the minute corrections that you need to make to have the biggest impact on your practice. This studio exposed me to ELDOA, which I am sure will be the next big thing in Toronto. Check them out, challenge yourself to get in tune with what is happening with your body and believe me, you won't regret it. LOVE this studio and all of the instructors. Sean and Riikka are super fantastic!! I totally love their approach. They do group (mat and reformer), private and semi-private.

If you need a plate to go, lift weights, run, and leave, you can't beat it. The membership is mature and respectful, the staff informed me of all my options and did not push for a membership model I didn't want. So far very positive experience. I have not gone during peak hours.

But I'm thinking of switching gyms for the following reasons: - issues with signing up - unsuitable washrooms - volume of music To me, these are red flags, but you decide if they bother you. Here are the details: 1. At first, when you talk to them about signing up, they'll give you one price, but once your credit card is out, they come up with this bs "maintenance fee" that you have to pay 3 or 4 times a year. This is after I had explicitly asked her if the initial price she gave me was "the real price", and if it really included everything. "Absolutely!", I was told. That's just plain dishonest and doesn't bode well for how they run their business. 2. You should be aware that there are only 3 individual washrooms -- each washroom has a toilet, sink and shower. That means that it's not possible to use the washrooms at all sometimes. People have to stand in line to wait for someone to get out of the shower before they can use the restroom. 3. The music if often way too loud. I've been to many gyms in my life, and I've never found music volume to be an issue. People typically wear earphones with their own music or podcast, so why does the gym's music have to be blaring? I find it strange to complain about something like this, but I honestly can't hear my own music over the gym's. Sometimes, they put a radio station on, which is even worse since the commercials are even louder than the music. I've told them about this three times, and I've gotten contradictory responses: "We don't control the music, it comes from corporate." "Whoever is working decides what they want to listen to." "This is a gym, we need to have music." (as if I asked them to turn it off completely). I did notice that in the little staff office, there are no speakers; they might have to crank it up in order to hear it. If that's the reason, it points to another issue altogether.
