Dance cardio is so fun! I'm getting the cardio in without having to mindlessly run around. Great music, friendly atmosphere.

The Gym is the nicest gym I've had the pleasure of working out in. Everything is SUPER CLEAN and…read morethe all cardio and strength machines are in good shape. There's ample space to stretch and enough machines and benches to go around. It can get a bit packed during peak hours, but it's never too crowded. Did I mention how clean everything is? The staff are amazing! They're always so welcoming, helpful, and are just really friendly people. I also want to commend their COVID response efforts--when I first joined last year, they went above and beyond in helping me feel safe via their safety measures and policies. I highly recommend The Gym to anyone looking for a 5-Star gym experience.

You need to get the facts straight first before you jump the gun on how friendly Frank was to me because that's simply NOT the case... My ID is 100% valid. Im retired like I told him several times This is what I clearly told Frank a year ago and he said that it was" no issue at all" ..So I ended up coming back to the club a year later to finally join up. He asked me for ID which I showed him, then he started to say oh didn't you come in here a year ago etc, so I said yes I did. He then tells me "oh your ID says retired you can join at the full rate" and "I told you last time that im not giving you the discount we offer ...(that's not true at all ), What he said was that it was NO ISSUE".. He started to examine my ID, hold it up to the light literally about 5 different times ,,,Not sure what that was about...I said Frank, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY ID- YOURE EXAMINING IT LIKE ITS A FAKE $100 BILL OR SOMETHING, I said is there an issue?????..and he says " OH NOTHING I WAS JUST LOOKING AT IT. He then continues to say he's not giving me the discount and he told me this last year. I said NO PROBLEM...I was leaving, asked him for my ID back, and he started taking pictures of my ID with his phone... Maybe you can clear that up for me Andrew..what was that about after I said no problem and was clearly leaving the club with my coat on. Why did he start taking pictures of My ID? I mean I could care less that you or him think my ID is not valid, I could care less about any discount, or joining your club..Thats not the point at all.. I just didn't appreciate the way I was treated..PERIOD. Its really as Simple as that..I hope this clears it up for you. My experience was not good.

First time going to Retro Fitness, and I was expecting the usual hassle with overpriced day passes…read morelike other gyms. Since I'm only here for the week, I didn't want to get tied down to a long contract. But when I walked in, I was joyfully greeted by two employees, Justin and Jeralde (I believe that was his name). Justin explained everything clearly and helped me get a 3-day pass with no pressure at all. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely get a membership here! The gym is very clean, well-maintained, and has a great atmosphere.

Following a recent flood, this gym was in a state where everything needed to be updated due to mold…read moresmells and heavy dust, so I placed my membership on hold. When I recently visited(July), the mold smell had decreased, but the floors still hadn't been repaired, causing dust to fly everywhere. Despite a long time passing, management only expected understanding from its members instead of fixing the issues, which led me to cancel my membership. However, I found out I had already been charged for June and July without even realizing it. I exchanged emails with the Assistant Manager regarding this issue, but she refused to provide a refund for those months, strictly citing their policy. I told her I understand their stance, but in fairness, I would be leaving a review about this experience. I have been a member here for over 5 years, but in the end, it is clear that they do not care about their members' health or safety. Horrible facility management and completely unfair billing. Avoid this place.

I'm a fitness and wellness junkie who loves trying new ways to move my body. I've recently been…read morecurious about pilates and decided to take my first class at Impact Group Fitness in Fort Lee. I stumbled upon the studio on the ClassPass app. They're a one stop shop for HIIT, sculpt, and strength classes. They offer two different formats - low impact (sculpt, barre, pilates, yoga) and high impact (dance, strength, circuits, HIIT). I signed up for the 45 minute Mat Pilates class with Cassidy on a Tuesday night. They're located on a busy street, so you'll have to find metered parking. Upon walking in I was greeted by the warm receptionist. I signed a waiver and she gave me a tour. The studio is pretty small. It's squeaky clean, bright, and minimalistic. There's a "lobby"/waiting area with a merchandise display. They have changing rooms, a bathroom, coat hooks, and free lockers. They only have one group fitness room with a large mirror and barre. All of the equipment for the mat pilates class was already provided to us (mat, ankle weights, magic circle, and dumbbells). I like that the class sizes are small because I prefer a more intimate experience. There were about 12-15 of us. The instructor, Cassidy, started and ended the class right on time. Let me just say this. THIS WORKOUT HUMBLED ME. I consider myself to be a fairly fit individual, but this was a humbling experience. The workout was split into core, back, upper, and lower body with different exercises for each section. It was low impact with HIGH intensity and lots of reps. We focused on form, functional movement, and mind to muscle connection. Pilates has a big emphasis on targeting deep, stabilizing muscles through using precise movements. I was huffing and puffing LOL... I FELT THE BURN!!! My core stability, flexibility, and endurance was PUT TO WORKKKK. Definitely a challenge, but fun at the same time. Cassidy was encouraging and welcoming the entire time. There were women of all different shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. We didn't feel any pressure. She gave us modifications and corrections when needed. My only critique is that she could've paused and demonstrated each exercise before we started. She jumped right in after each set and it was a little hard to see her since I was in the far left corner. I also would've liked a little introduction to the class format before we began (especially for first timers), but that's just me being big on education lol. They have monthly memberships, class packs, and drop in rates. I'll be trying a few more classes through ClassPass and I may consider getting a membership afterwards. Should you try pilates? DUH. And for those who think it "looks or sounds easy".... OH PLEASE!!! Try it out for yourself. I absolutely think it's a workout that will be rewarding and challenging for everyone.

It was definitely challenging but she also gives you modifications and demos each workout before you do it. I felt the support and great energy from the staff here and other members. I'm excited to take more classes! I love how modern the decor is and the clean, bright space is very inviting. Parking isn't an issue and the establishment is located in the heart of Fort Lee.

### Regarding Physical Therapy…read more I came in July to work on my shoulder. I couldn't do a pull up anymore or a full range pushup without severe discomfort. Previous effort helped normalize the pain, but I didn't make great progress on my own. I started with doubt that I could recover range and ability. Within 2 months of work so far, Taylor has stepped the programming based on his observations of my current ability. Just when I thought I was getting used to the work, he pulled the line. I was able to, as part of the regular programming able to do a pushup off the floor with disbelief. The same goes with a pull up as well. His decades of experience works you, as long as you give it a chance, consistently. ### Regarding Group Fitness Class The daily group classes are in a place of itself. It will introduce you to movements that you may not do well, increase your mobility and cardio fitness. There are many levels of people who participate, all growing together. The programming is well thought out and structured. Highly recommend as I have taken the dive fitting this into my various routines. Since the free trial, I am definitely moving differently compared to the extreme difficulty I had initially. I thought I had some kind of fitness, but this exposed me to challenge me. Living proof!
