Veggies herbs Fruits breads and muffins roasted nuts raw honeys fudge raw vegan almond dips (good!) etc. There used to be a lady who sold a plethora of different sprouted seeds and beans and grains. I loved it. But she has disappeared. I guess not enough people knew the power of sprouts! I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more variety now and then, but I understand, it's small, and probably not a huge turnout for the vendors. But I hope it sticks around. #1 Yelp 100 2013 challenge.

I've been here once so far (which I regret not coming sooner since I work here). I hope that there will be more additions to the market, but even now, it is still very fun to visit. There are many plants and herbs for you gardeners out there. I saw like two variations of basils, some ghost pepper plant, scented rose geranium and many more! There's at least 3 plant booths. There are lots of veggies & fresh fruits, and may I add they are gigantic! Like double the size of the fruits in grocery stores. And the best part is, they let you taste most of their fruits so you can see how sweet they are before you buy them! there's also like 3 of these booths. There is an almond spread booth... and they are delicious. My favorite flavor is the tomato basil and the jalapeno cilantro. Every flavor is available for tasting. It's $5 for a box, but $12 if you buy 3. There is a salsa booth with so many different types of salsa. I didn't try any though so i cant comment of it except there's quite a huge crowd around it. So i have to imagine it's pretty good. I gotta taste test these next time. The bread booth is pretty popular too. They have all sorts of unique bread you don't usually find at a grocery store. My friend bought some kind of rosemary garlic bread for $4. They also have some other baked goods besides bread. There is a honey booth which isn't that popular, but i bought the honey stix (4 for $1) because they were fun to eat. They taste good too. They also sell regular honey in little bottles. I'm sure those would go great with tea. There is a spice booth and they have spices out for you to smell and taste. This is also not as popular, but no surprise there. Nothing seems out of the ordinary with these spices... except they can come in huge sizes. If you need like cajoun, garlic salt, garlic pepper, spicy n hot spices, you should check this booth out. The spice guy seemed to know his stuff and can recommend spices to you depending on what you want to cook (or attempt cooking) There is a dried fruits booth... actually there may be 2 but they don't have the same types of dried fruits. One had stuff like dried mango, chili mango (which I'm coming back for next time because I forgot to buy some today). The other stand had like flattened dried fruits and some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head. That's all the booths I remember from today's visit. I will be sure to update with pics the next time I go! In general, this is a fun place to visit on Thursdays, especially if you are at City of Hope that day. But even if you're not, you should come by and check it out anyways. It is open to the public. Be sure to bring cash. Some stand do take credit card though (prob with a minimum) so I guess you can bring both! I believe this will only be here all summer until the fall, so come check it out before it ends!

We bought an elote, tortuga and can't recall the third piece of pan, and alfajores. The elote was delicious, I love that you can see little specs of cinnamon, soft and tender and vanilla scent. The tortuga was a bit more spongy, fragrant, and nice balanced of sweetness. The alfajores were buttery, crisp and smeared with dulce de leche. I needed a bday cake and decided to order the strawberry shortcake, because it looked so pretty. The cake was a hit with the family. The frosting was super light, the filling is one layer of custard and the other of light whipped cream and berries. The sponge is moist, the cake is not sweet, but decadent in its creamy texture. The inside of the store is aesthetically appealing, traditional glass cases showcase the pan. I'm so glad to have a nearby bakery and cake shop!

Like some of the reviews already mentioned, this location is more of a "grab and go" type of place. They have a solid selection of cakes, pastries, and drinks. If you are looking for their full breakfast menu, the Monrovia location down the street is where you would want to go! When I visited, they were celebrating their 1-year anniversary with an outside table of samplers. They had a balloon arch outside to signal to the community that they are celebrating something special as well. The lady out front shared with me what they had to offer, and she also mentioned that they do catering! I like my coffee strong but also on the sweet side. When I asked for the stronger option, I was recommended to get the cappucino rather than the latte and they can make the caffeine a little bit more concentrated without sacrificing the flavor. The cookies were a little dry for my taste but maybe it was because the samplers were sitting outside for a little too long. I would go back just to try the breakfast sandwich, but the experience of grabbing food was pretty fast and the food was flavorful enough! Excited to have a closer Cafe de Olla to me and wishing them so much success!

I've ate Indian food for more than 2 decades, I've lived around the Foothills most of my life but I…read morenever tried this place until yesterday. Loved it! It's simple, unassuming, restaurant attached to a grocery store, who knew. Went in, stomach was hurting from the previous day but as soon as I had it, I was happy. Also, the Chicken Tikka Masala gravy, absolutely fell in love with it. There was a place in Fullerton that I used to go to, Curry Hut, and I would get the same thing over and over again. Chicken Tikka Masala and Goat Curry, it reminded me of that. I went to an Indian restaurant recently, "All India Cafe," and I was not happy. I still need to leave them a review but the flavors were dulled down and I look at the reviews and people love it "All India Cafe." I'm going to assume something but "All India Cafe" probably caters to local tastes. I like this place because I can taste the intensity of the flavors, this place is called India Food & Spices and they don't shy away from the flavor. That's what I wanted, and that's what I got. Really nice service, feels very inviting. The guy asked if I wanted the sauce on the rice and I said "no," but that was a mistake. If he asks, say "yes." They served it on paper plates and some of the sauces get absorbed into the plate but I kept trying to squeeze it back out for more. So I had the 2 entree combo, (Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Rice, and Chapati). Chicken Tikka Masala Very very flavorful sauce, big pieces of chicken but chicken little on the dry side. Not atypical from Indian cuisine to have dry chicken in chicken tikka masala but I sometimes would like a choice of dark meat than white meat? Can't get enough of that sauce though. Creamy, rich, blend of spices, like a creamy tomato bisque with a lot of seasoning. Goat Curry Meat falling off the bone and flavorful sauce, some pieces were extra bony but not atypical of Indian food. Think of a beef texture with a little more gamy taste. Absolutely wonderful. Rice It's not a biryani but it's colored with a small tinge of yellow. Standard rice, can't complain. Chapati Tasted good from what I remembered, also pretty standard. I don't know how anyone could mess this up but flavorful and satisfying like a slightly puffed up tortilla. Surprisingly though, I do notice naan differences at various Indian places. Papadam I took one bite and it was bursting with tasty delight. Crispy and sprinkles of what looks like cumin seeds throughout. Side of yogurt It was tart, and acted like a palate cleanser for me, I would dip some of the chapati and papadam every so often into it. Pickled onion chutney There were slices of connected onions that were pickled. I didn't hate it but I wasn't a huge fan. There was a lot of it, I didn't finish it. This place was great, you can tell from the crowd, it feels and taste authentic. I feel like other Indian restaurants dilute the flavors to match the local tastes. Or sometimes I try to compare their buffet curries with their al la carte and it sometimes feels lessened. I will need to try this place several more times but so far they got a return customer.

First time I went, it was never explained to me that the desserts were by the pound. I just wanted a few pieces and was told I had to get a box. Which ended up being pricey. This time when I went, there was a young gentleman there and he explained it was by pound, how much it was per pound, and about how many pieces I'd get per pound. He was so nice that I decided I wanted to get some food too! I got the 3 item non veg combo with chicken tika, curry goat and spinach paneer. It comes with a drink too!!!! I chose the mango lassi. Guy asked if I wanted plain or garlic naan and he also told me garlic naan would be extra charge. I love how he was so up front with everything! Chicken tika- yummy! Goat curry-tasty without the gamey-ness. Spinach paneer- home run!! That cheese!!! Garlic naan- bread so soft and so garlicky! Mango lassi- smooth and creamy with real mango taste! Jalebi- 1000%!

Concerning payment, this business only accepts Visa, Master Card, Cash, Zelle, and ApplePay.) My family and I arrived on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day (around 1PM). I'd made a reservation the day prior since I'd been searching for businesses that stayed open during Thanksgiving. Parking is very easy. The private lot is spacious with many spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Staff mostly spoke Mandarin; however, there was one staff member that could fluently speak English. Staff is very helpful and professional, and staff answered all our questions. We ordered seven dishes; all the dishes arrived within 38 minutes and 16 seconds. Good pace. The Salt & Pepper Fish Filet ($14) arrived in nine minutes. Then, six minutes later, the Beef Chow Fun ($13) and String Bean with Minced Chicken ($14) arrived. Then, 10 minutes later, the Combination Fried Rice ($17) and Salt & Pepper Shrimp ($17) arrived. Lastly, around 14 more minutes later, the Scallion Oil Chicken (Half - $17) and Almond Tea ($7) came. We happily devoured these delicious dishes. The Salt & Pepper Fish Filet had a thin, crisp crust with hot fish. It's gently seasoned. The Beef Chow Fun had springy, bouncy noodles. Its beef came very tender but a little lukewarm. The String Bean with Minced Chicken tasted clean and fresh; its chicken came tender and juicy. The Combination Fried Rice had plump shrimp, tender beef, and moist chicken. I especially loved how the rice felt hot & fluffy. It was well-seasoned. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp tasted crisp, plump, and well-salted; these shrimp were fried perfectly. The Scallion Oil Chicken tasted very tender and juicy. And the Almond Tea felt hot, velvety with the fresh aftertaste of almonds. Every meal felt clean and fresh. All in all, we appreciated how every dish lacked that overpowering/masking flavor. "TASTY!" Concerning ambiance, Sands Chinese Restaurant (Irwindale) is clean, sleek, and minimalistic. The tables and floors are very shiny. There's about seven tables inside. There's also a customer restroom in the back. The location is also well-ventilated as soft music plays in the background. Overall, my family and I had a lovely experience at Sands Chinese Restaurant (Irwindale). The food is fresh, filling, affordable, and delicious. If curious, I definitely recommend. 5 out of 5
