All of the coaches are great but I want to give a shout out to Anson Fisk! As luck would have it, I end up in his sessions more often than with other coaches. Anson is very enthusiastic and motivating but more importantly, he sees each person individually and works to correct form when needed. As for community, Krave partners with a local non profit each season (Special Olympics, ARL, etc.) and members are encouraged to participate in an event supporting each non-profit. There are also challenges (just completed a six-week one) and occasionally a social event. To me, Krave is much more than just a gym!

Studies have showed that Music is a key to motivational factor to exercise intensity. Crunch Fitness is a science-based fitness industry with a progressive, multicultural philosophy. Though, customers can use their headphones to listen at their music the gym environment needs to meet their multicultural FUN philosophy and stop altering it to a home garage gym. The gym safety and cleanliness have, also, deteriorated. The locker rooms and bathrooms are extremely felty to the point that its scary to step in these rooms, thinking of the increased bacteria, which puts health at risk, not in a state of wellness. Key, balance equipment has come missing and several machines are not properly functioning, decreasing the variety of mode exercise one can do for fitness improvement. The improper function of exercise machines increases risk for injury. When staff is presented with these and other concerns, staff does not provide awareness and/or a resolution to these issues.

Even if you hate contracts, and loathe inflexibility-- you can still check out "Anytime Fitness" for one that gives you the options of safety, cleanliness, machines, parking and staff that cares about their facility and you as a customer. My go to is Anytime Urbandale -- when you walk in you have to feel comfortable, staff seem to care about your presence and the ebb and flow of the circuit seems a good fit. Urbandale is giving itself a facelift by adding Hunter -- a new trainer and sales representative-- and adding and rotating equipment that works for those who use machines. The spacing of equipment is good, the cleaning inside in various areas has improved and Coach Mike is still there to perk up the place. So shake it off and find that Anytime regiment that works for you!

I got to try out "yoga" here. It was a 45 min class called sculpting. It was not the normal…read morestretching and focus I am used to in yoga. This was a fast paced high energy class. It did not really focus on the postures of yoga. If you want something quick, louder music, high energy instructor there is a class for that. I was not used to this but did my best to keep up and learn the moves as we went along. The quick feet movement on the yoga mats gave me a blister on the bottom of my big toe, but I could feel the workout for a couple days after. You are greeted when you walk in, you check in and get a mat or towel if you forgot yours. You can kick your shoes off or make your way down the hall to the changing/shower/bathroom. There is lockers,but you'll need your own lock. Then you make your way to the smaller room built for your class. Its was aimed to be hot, but just a mere 92 degrees. I had a few moments to enjoy the sauna room before we starting moving. Then it was all downhill. I dont know how you are to workout, sweat, and not loose your grip on the slick, sweaty yoga mat as you jump up and down and lift weights and move your butt off I felt good after the long class. I was able to go straight home and get my shower in, but this class we intense. I wish I had the ability to go back and try another one of the classes like hot Yoga or something a little less fast paced. They are all on their app, but the timing just did not work out for me.

I also attended the sculpting class the following day. I was smoked this morning and very…read moreimpressed by the class and how quickly time flies in the spread, 45m version. Recommending this class over the other I took.
