Awesome from the inside as it is on the outside! For years I've driven by and saw how attractive the building was. This year is the year I finally committed to working out here. Excellent customer service. Spectacular amities. Bonus features when you become a member. Options for different workout clubs. Skilled trainers. Child care and camps. Lifetime Fitness has it all. I have been very pleased to experience most of what Lifetime offers and I like so many things about it already. Memberships starts at $99 a month and can be customized to what you need or want for your fitness goals. I appreciate the one on one training I've received already. The accountability and relationship development is money well spent. During COVID19 review: masks are not required for entry. Employees were all masked until recent Governor Mask Mandate was lifted earlier in May 2021. Excellent sanitation protocols. Social distance is good. (As good as it can get for a gym.) Everyone is very respectful of space and cleaning their work area/equipment. Busiest times of the gym are weekday mornings 5:00-8:00 am. Gets busy off and on during mid morning till late afternoon. Busy again after work hours. Less busiest time is 6:30pm - 11:00pm close on week days. Weekends are fantastic too as it's less busy. Overall I highly recommend Lifetime Fitness as a one stop shop gym.

Best facility and staff in the business. You won't find a more luxuries fitness club in Des Moines.

Went as a guest of another member to use the pool facilities last Sunday. I was impressed by the number of chairs they had around the pool deck. The staff working the outside concessions area was quite friendly. They have beers--mainly domestic low-calorie stuff. I saw Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Woodchuck Cider, and a couple others I don't recall. The chicken quesadilla I had was quite tasty for being something out of a snack bar. The quesadilla comes with a sour cream with chives blended in, as well as a salsa that was far too chunky for my liking. It would have been nice if the water fountains were working, considering how hot it was outside. Didn't use any of the fitness facilities, but everything outside looks like its kept up well. If I lived closer, I'd consider membership.

I continued to lift and do cardio in various forms throughout college and working out remained a cornerstone of my day to day life after graduation. I'd say I was doing pretty well until I turned 35. At that point I found myself skipping workouts, eating too much junk food, finishing my kid's 'Happy Meals', and generally being lazy. I was inconsistent and could not seem to get "back on the horse." Fast forward 22 years. My on again off again pattern of working out had led me to yet another "big box" gym and, quite frankly, I was BORED. I needed a community with like-minded individuals who wanted something beyond traditional workouts. One year ago this week I found what I was looking for: KRAVE Gym. The owners and coaches recognize that we all desire to belong, feel supported, and be challenged to reach our potential. I love this place and the people I get to see on a weekly basis. I actually look forward to working out here and truly enjoy the "seasons" of our gym that highlight the importance of strength, endurance, agility, and striking. If you're struggling with motivation or just need a kick in the ass to get you back on track, this is the place for YOU!

The owners started with one gym (this location) and have expanded to several more over the years, yet they remain involved in all locations. All of the coaches are great but I want to give a shout out to Anson Fisk! As luck would have it, I end up in his sessions more often than with other coaches. Anson is very enthusiastic and motivating but more importantly, he sees each person individually and works to correct form when needed. As for community, Krave partners with a local non profit each season (Special Olympics, ARL, etc.) and members are encouraged to participate in an event supporting each non-profit. There are also challenges (just completed a six-week one) and occasionally a social event. To me, Krave is much more than just a gym!

It did not really focus on the postures of yoga. If you want something quick, louder music, high energy instructor there is a class for that. I was not used to this but did my best to keep up and learn the moves as we went along. The quick feet movement on the yoga mats gave me a blister on the bottom of my big toe, but I could feel the workout for a couple days after. You are greeted when you walk in, you check in and get a mat or towel if you forgot yours. You can kick your shoes off or make your way down the hall to the changing/shower/bathroom. There is lockers, but you'll need your own lock. Then you make your way to the smaller room built for your class. Its was aimed to be hot, but just a mere 92 degrees. I had a few moments to enjoy the sauna room before we starting moving. Then it was all downhill. I was able to go straight home and get my shower in, but this class we intense. I wish I had the ability to go back and try another one of the classes like hot Yoga or something a little less fast paced. They are all on their app, but the timing just did not work out for me.
