I don't know why Luxe Lingerie they would run someone out of the shop this way. I know my own (pear-shaped) body type and can tell what will work for me. Even if I were XL or larger, that would become evident on its own and I wouldn't need a storekeeper preemptively telling me that I'm too big to shop there. So, 1) a warning that L is the largest size here. 2) a warning that they may make assumptions about your body size and tell you to shop elsewhere. In response to the owner's comment on 7/26: I would like to reiterate that I was NOT measured at Luxe Lingerie! There is nothing wrong with being a larger size. The part that confused me is that they looked at me and made an assumption. Notice that their response overall corroborates my story. I was scanned visually and deemed too large to shop there. I was wearing a dress that has a flowy fit. An alternative strategy would have been to measure me, or to ask what size I am wearing/usually wear. Being ushered out of a store before receiving any service is not OK. Frankly, being a woman of color shopping in Beverly Hills, it is a sensitive matter. I went shopping as recently as yesterday and purchased clothes in sizes Medium and Large -- the same size I purchased at another lingerie store on the SAME day. And their clothes are catered to those who travel so think limited wrinkle fabrics. They have tons of amazing basics, quality knits and also some dresses. I have a gorgeous, black lace casual dress from them and also work slacks. Great, broad range of selections. Try things on though - the hanger appeal is not always there but when you put on the pieces, it's when it starts to work and you see and experts flattery magic. They also design for layers which in SoCal is key. I love their cuts and quality. They also have seasonal colors. I highly recommend this designer. Their sales people are very attentive and helpful. I was looking for a graduation dress, and she was so friendly, kind, and fun from the get-go. She went above & beyond to make sure I could find the dress I wanted and that there was a fitting room since it was a busy day. She asked others to help me too, and was very professoinal. She made me feel very confident and comfortable, and also made the shopping/trying-on process very fun! I appreciate her help so much and I'm glad I got to meet her at this Reformation location. All the other employees/staff from other Reformation locations need her positive & friendly attitude, humility, and hospitality.
