I was looking for a quick massage at the spare of the moment, so I was pleased to find Fletcher Massage was open during these COVID times! When I called I was told that same day appointments were available so I scheduled to arrive within half-an-hour. When I arrived, I was surprised that no one wore a mask! A box of hand sanitizer and other cleaning items were sitting at the entrance, but I was not asked to clean my hands and I was already wearing my mask. After inquiring whether or not proper sanitary measures and safety precautions had been carried out, to include clean sheets on the massage table, and clean room disinfecting, the response was a half-way answer. Not sure if the half-response to my strong safety concerns was due to the slight language barrier or not, but I was told the sheets were new, and the therapist proceeded to put on a mask and showed me to the massage room. I decided to go ahead with the appointment because my shoulders and neck were so tight, but I went for the upper body/back message instead of the full body so I was face down the whole time. I must say, the message was great! He worked out most of the tension build up in my neck and shoulders and asked for a tip afterward as I proceeded to the door. My Bae and I come here for the couples massage, it's $80 for an hour for two people. And it's always over an hour, I'm guessing that people who say theirs were 45 minutes or whatever came here with unrealistic expectations and were exaggerating. This is a little neighborhood Chinese massage shop, not a hotel spa experience, you really need to keep that in mind and adjust your expectations downwards accordingly. It's true that some of the staff don't speak English, I'm not aware that that is a crime, there are staff here that do and they can step in and assist. My Bae understands Chinese, so I've never had an issue. Everyone's friendly enough, I don't need people to be fake nice to me while I'm getting a massage, I actually like it when it's silent in the room to be honest, it's more relaxing imo. The massage itself is good, they do check in with you about the pressure, and if you don't like the oil, you can speak up and tell them your preferences, no one is a mind reader. Bae always instructs them about how to use the oils, you're the customer, advocate for yourself in advance to avoid any problems. The man that works here does have much stronger hands than females, he can really workout those knots, especially when he gets on the table for leverage. Well, today was the day--some clients I had recently done some work for spoke highly of this place. They mentioned they even take walk-ins. So, naturally, I was excited. I arrived to a warm welcome and an open room, however, just as I was going to get undressed for my massage, the host tells me I have to leave, that they're "too busy." Sonny has been my masseuse for a few months now. I came in originally with a curve in my spine and the surrounding muscle and tissue very tight. It was suggested that I get a 90 minute massage. Sonny worked every muscle and I left the first day with relief. I have been going back regularly and have gained range of motion in my neck that I haven't had for years. My mom and I needed a massage after my wedding. We were able to book a same day full body massage for a very decent price (90 minutes for $60 each) but that's where the pros end. We used the couple's massage room and both mine and her masseuse were male. Within the first 5 minutes a woman started yelling in the hall in another language and one masseuse left the room and went out into the hallway with her for a few minutes while we heard their entire exchange. The guy finally came back and the two males began talking to each other. They continued to talk and giggle amongst themselves for a few minutes until I finally asked them to be quiet. You can hear everything in the massage room (the doorbell when people come in, conversations in the hall, the cling of hot rocks, sinks running, etc.) so it's really not relaxing at all. On top of that the two men were so rough on us we felt worse the next day, had bruises/sore muscles and my entire back was sensitive to touch.
