If you are not down for a really god rough deep tissue massage this is not and I repeat not your cup of tea. If you have horrendous god awful knots no one can help this place is a god sent. I have had multiple spine injuries and get severe Charlie horse type knots in my shoulders kind of like rocks the size of jawbreakers. I was a little nervous at first about the legitimacy of this place due to the cost, however I had the best 30 minute massage ever an older man with hot stones got rid of knots that no one at massage envy have even been able to break during a 90 min rub. I am on the computer all day I got the rub 3 days ago and still feel amazing. Before this run I have been in constant pain for an entire month. They will find those knots and they will break them. read more

I used to go here about once a month to see Davy (I think that was his name) in - I think - 2018. He was awesome! I moved out of state for a short while and came back a few months ago. I made an appointment and what a mistake that was! Firstly, the dude spent way too much time on my butt - I was just getting ready to tell him to please move on - and he probably felt the vibe and moved on. It was one of the worst massages I've ever had! I had to tell him three times not to touch the base of my spine because I have a herniated disc that, if you touch it - it feels like a very bad bruise. I know there was a language barrier so I showed him where, and told him NO. I also had to tell him three times "not so hard" & "softer" on my feet - The lady finally told him (i'm assuming since he stopped). I was not happy, so when he walked away I threw $5 on the table & left. I really didn't want to leave him anything because it was a horrible massage, (& he was clearly just going through the motions) but I did anyway. So I'm getting in my car and he runs out the door saying "tip, tip" I gave him a dirty look and said "it's on the table" - he didn't even say "thank you" - he just went back inside. I don't care how desperate I am for a massage (i'm really bad at making appointments, and I use this place primarily because you don't have to make an appointment) - I will never ever ever ever ever go here again! EVER! By the way, I have this gift of knowing when a business is going to go under (when Blockbuster video started getting greedy & shady, I told them over the phone "you will be out of business in under three years" and they were out of business in two years and 11 months ). I give this place under a year and they will be gone for good. BYYYEEEE! read more

This business is a no nonsense an a no fluff massage place. For the quality of the massage you receive, it's a great price.

I love this place so much. Okay, not much to look at from the outside, management is a little flaky (I've made multiple appts before coming in and they never seem to have it recorded) but it is the BEST place ever for not only the $20, 1-hour massage but for any of their regular massages as well. Every single person that has worked on me has left me feeling really attended to, refreshed and renewed. The only person's name I can remember right now is David but honestly, any of them will treat you great. read more

Absolutely five stars! If you come here, you have to ask for Kimmy. He gives a terrific message. He's the only one who I have had here before but I wouldn't even want to try anyone else. Although my husband was with me and said his lady was awesome as well. Kimmy worked every knot and really focused on the important spots. I have gotten multiple messages other places and never leave real happy about it. But I am soooo happy about this message! 10/10 recommend :) read more

We went to get the couple massage which was good but the bad thing was you have to pay upfront so it's like ok no biggie but the part that made me feel uncomfortable was they force you to pay tip the total was 80 and the lady wanted us to pay 100 total she said said 10 per person tip I was like well let's see how the massage is first and then we decide how much to give boy was I wrong the lady at the end was very very insisted be on us paying 20 In tip haha I felt bullied by this kind of crap. I get you have to pay the workers but why not just put the price higher instead of trying to force a tip it's a wrong way on trying to make more money it's like a bad surprise read more

The massage itself was absolutely horrible. I felt like she was bothered by having to do it. Preformed very fast and blotchy (a little here/a little there) I felt horrible the next day . Also, she did not speak English until I tipped her . She would leave the room quit often. Over all this place just stinks! Please do not go here!!! read more

I had a great massage here and if I lived in the area would definitely come back. The therapist listed to my needs and I left feeling much better than when I came in. Precisely what I wanted. read more

Don't recommend this place at all . First we walk and ask for 35 min massage with hot stones . We waited in the room for about 15 min , didn't have a sheet so I got up and got it myself . They came in and didn't ask anything at all . She massaged me for about 20 min and was talking the whole time so I didn't even get too enjoy the massage or even relax . I didn't get the hot stone I asked for , never once did she ask how much pressure I wanted like they have in other places . After we got our water we tipped $5 each since we didn't get what we asked for and they rudely looked at us and told us they like too be tipped $10 ! What a joke , won't ever come back read more

I LOVE this place so much. I have a highly stressful job and am very physically active so I try to come once a week to decompress and relax. I need someone with strong hands, and every single person here has got those! However, my number one person is Hunter. He is very attentive and inquires about any areas that need extra work before the massage begins. He has also come up with a plan that has been helping to alleviate pain from an old arm injury. The pricing is also a great bonus. I usually do the #8 (foot/body combo for an hour), but I have also treated myself to the hot rocks full body massage, which is just heavenly. I highly recommend Fletcher Massage. Thank you Hunter!!! See you next week. read more

My husband needed a massage for a painful shoulder, and came here. First and last time. He asked for and was charged for a 1 hr massage only to have the therapist do a 90 minute massage so he paid the difference even though he didn't want it to last that long. Then after doing a 20% tip for a mediocre massage. The lady was standing there telling him it wasn't enough of a tip, and kept asking him for more money. He felt really uncomfortable with the whole situation, but gave her more money anyway. She kept saying it wasn't enough and shaking her head. I get that they rely almost exclusively on tips, but they were so incredibly rude about it. The whole situation left us both pissed off. I doubled checked the general tipping rule for massage therapy and 20% is standard for a fantastic massage. We will never go back to this place. read more

This place was ok I guess just did not like how you have to give a tip of $10 is like they make you if the massage is 30 they should put is 40 instead that's was one thing I actually was really kinda confused about read more

I am so happy i found this place. Peter did my massage and i loved every minute. i recommend this place for everyone!

Had 2 massages here trying to give this place a chance since it's so reasonably priced. First one was SUPER rough and seemed rushed, and the second...was uncomfortable to say the least. This girl basically played with my butt from every angle, the ENTIRE massage!!! I'm all for a little massaging down there, but this was just unprofessional. Both times I walked in to someone who seemed like I had just woken them from a nap. read more

I walked in and immediately became uncomfortable. I looked to the left and saw a woman just getting up from what looked like a nap, I said, "Hi!" And she closed the door without a word. Turns out she was part of the staff! Then I told the woman at the front desk that I would like a full body massage for 30 minutes. She repeated my order back to me with a blank stare. I said, "yeah... is that ok?" And she looked down and said flatly, "yeah its ok." And then the man who ended up giving me the massage came out and looked at me and chuckled to himself!!!! Didn't say one word to me! After I was in the room I decided not to undress because I wasn't totally comfortable and when the man walked in he said "Noo, all of you!" "Actually I'd be more comfortable with my clothes on." "No, come on all of you!" "No. I want to keep my clothes on." "Awww ok ok" You should never argue with customers about what makes them comfortable. Period. The massage itself was really rough and I had to ask him to be softer three times and today I feel like my shoulder blades are bruised. After it was done I was walking out and I drank the water he put out for me and said thank you then was walking out. Then we had a very strange exchange Him: are you a *unintelligible word* Me: im sorry, what? Him: *unintelligible word* Me: i'm sorry I don't understand you. Him: a cheap-o! Are you a cheap-o? Then I realized I didn't tip him and my initial reaction was to give him $5 because I initially felt bad for not tipping a service industry worker. But as I left I realized he should not have spoken to me like that. "Are you a cheap-o?" That is beyond rude and totally unnecessary. I was polite and kind the whole time and was met with rude-ness. Never going back. read more

Bad service and the absolutely worst experience my sister and I have ever had at any place!! We will would not recommend Fletcher Massage to anyone and will never go there again. There were extremely rude and requested to charge our credit card before we even had service. The massage subpar and when said we said we wanted to get cash both the man and woman proceeded to demand that we give a tip on our card that they had already charged. At this point we began to walk to our car and the man followed us yelling and demanding a tip now. We left as soon as we could because this man was becoming very scary. read more

Mom & I gave this place a try today. We had to pay first before leading us to this open area room with curtains around us, the towels they provided were pretty much beat up ones, luckily I brought my own. The therapists were way too soft, more like applying lotions onto our feet than rubbing them. I don't think we will come back again. 11/10/17 read more

I had the best massage I've ever had with Hunter! He listened to exactly where my problem areas were and gave really good strong pressure! It was so good! I will be going back to him every time!! read more

This is not where you go if you want a relaxing break and rub down like a typical massage. I know a lot of people who love to frequent this place, however It's been 10 hours since my "massage" and I'm still in pain. I mentioned several times that he was rubbing to hard to no avail, even with the flinching and ow's, no relief. read more

So I have been here twice now, the first time was amazing and the second wasn't so great. The first time I went it was on a weekend and wasn't busy, I bought the 1 hour for $40 and was immediately taken back to a room. The guy that did the massage was amazing he know just how to work out all the muscles. Based off of my first great massage me and a friend decided to go get one tonight. They asked if we wanted a room together and we both didn't care so they put us in the same room. That wasn't an issue at all and was an nice offering. We both elected for the 1 hour $40 and paid with card which they charge an extra $2 for well we left our 15% tip on the card slip and went back for the massage. This time the massage was not as good. I had a different guy and he used his forearms most of the time and didn't really get too deep in the muscle. But what really sucked massage wise was that they didn't even do our feet which was part of the full body! After the massage was over and we were leaving the female that did my friends massage ran after us asking for a tip. We told her we wrote it on the slip and based off of the massage I wasn't really wanting to give them any time at all let alone more but she just kept shouting tip at us so we both reluctantly wrote $5 more on the slip. I'm ok with tipping more if I enjoyed the experience but sadly I did not and they have lost my business. read more

Me and my boy went there got a decent hr massage. at the end we wanted to tip them $10 so we ask them for two tens in exchange for a 20 dollar bill. they wouldn't give us our $20 back and said we were obligated to tip them $20. read more

My boyfriend and I had went to get a massage a year ago at a different place and it was horrible!! we were holding our breath and clenching our fists because it hurt so bad. So we were a bit skeptical about getting another one. This place was AMAZING. The only reason we decided to try it was because it is really close to us and it had good reviews on yelp. We were so relaxed before, during and after and we can not wait to come back again. It is very reasonably priced as well. We paid $32 out the door that was including a $10 tip and it was honestly worth it. read more

I don't often write reviews, but when I do you know it's either very bad or very good. This time it is the first one. So. I have the man give me the massage, he took me behind the curtains and immediately demanded I pay him then. I was a bit put off because I was worrried that it was a sign that they are used to people hating the massages. Nonetheless, I payed so there was no conflict. AS SOON as the man leaned over to start my massage I was hit with the strong stench of cigarettes. He rubbed his hands all over me and the smell would linger and make me nauseas. I guess the actual massage itself was okay but I legitimately got bruises from the pressure. When the massage was done I went up in the front and gave him 5 dollars because keep in mind it was not a pleasurable experience and he seriously said, "more". What the hell man. read more

I went last Friday and had an hour full body massage done. Worst experience of my life. I kept telling the man softer, more gentle and he continued to massage me super hard. I kept saying ouch and he ignored me. He spent 45 min on my back and didn't even touch my feet. I was in so much pain the next morning that I called them. No one spoke good English and they even hung up on me. They were rude as well. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

This has got to be my worst review regarding ANY business. I don't know why I haven't done this earlier but I would first like to say that I am a regular customer and I have had over 25 massages here. #1 this place does not consider SAFETY. One day I was getting a massage and a lady who was leaving was so hurt that she couldn't walk! The commotion was so so loud and disturbing that my massage was constantly being interrupted and my masseuse left me unattended to the point that a one hour massage turned into a two hour session.#2 most massage parlors use a punch card system where your 11th visit is free. I received a text message from this place that I am ready to recieve my free massage. When I called to redeem it, the owner denied that he ever sent me a message! The proof is in my phone. I will try to include a screen shot of my message. I am suspect of identity theft now. They ask you for your date of birth on the clipboard too. Parkway spa has terrible customer service including the owner/ manager. Beware of this place ! read more

Fletcher Massage - This is the text message I received on 6/11/2015 at 1:37 pm. - Massage Near Me - La Mesa, California

Hi, i was here last week.. very nice people very nce place i liked it.. i will return

I love this place. Great Technique, Professional and most of all Affordable. I buy the prepay special and get 6 hours for the price of 5. That's like $35.00 an hour. I stopped using Massage Envy and have become a Fletcher Massage Patron read more

This place is clean 1 hour message 40 bucks and they don't hit you up for big tip no chicken chokers they have bars for back walking

The only reason I did not give five stars is because they talk to each other while massaging you in the communal room. They should give all their attention to the massage because you want tranquility while you are getting a massage. They are walking back and forth into the room and making conversation. I suggest bringing in some ear buds with your iphone to mask them talking. For the price I will definitely go back. This place is great. It is a hidden gem in La Mesa. The massage itself was five star and the place very clean. read more

Massage was great, the only reason I am giving 1 star is because after the massage the staff practically cornered us for tips. I didn't even have a chance to reach for my wallet after I left the room before they asked. My friend who also received a massage was blocked in the massage room and was immediately asked for a tip following massage. After tipping the masseuse, she proceeded to say that his tip wasn't good enough and needed more. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable which completely ruined the relaxed vibe following a good massage. read more

i would recommend this business .. i have been to a lot of these reflexology places and i have found a few therapist here i think one guy was dave but the recent gentleman is pete he walks on your back and it's amazing the reason for the 3 stars has nothing to do with his technique pete is amazing!! it really has more to do with the issue is communication... english is barely spoken and there is NO questionnaire as to what is broken with me.. i have a few issues and i wasn't able to tell them very welll ... so that's concerning to me but i know what works for me but the lack of communication is a bit concerning because massage can hurt people if the therapist doesn't know what's wrong with them... read more

This is by far the best massage experience I've ever received. First of all, the service is very friendly and professional. Secondly, the massage itself left me rejuvenated and amazed. The quality, the skill, and talent of the masseuses here is the best I've ever experienced compared to any big brand spas around San Diego. The price is unbelievably reasonable and the quality is one of a kind. I will be coming here very often. Don't waste your time and money anywhere else. This is the spot! read more

I took my boyfriend here for a couples massage and it was like someone else said a good rub down but I've been to massage envy a few times and it's definitely different. The male who massages my boyfriend didn't even really do his legs and that's what I asked him to do. So he didn't really get a "full body" massage. They were talking to each other throughout the massage too which was strange. The price is good but I wouldn't come back. read more

David was my massage therapist today and he was excellent. I feel like a new person. We will be back for sure. Thank you David!

This place has really bad service. We called to make sure we could still come in since it was a little before closing time. The woman replied yes, that it was ok and we could both get massages. We arrived and were charged immediately which I thought was weird but we paid. The whole massage was rushed and everyone was talking loudly and complaining about staying at work later. the woman giving me a massage stopped and said "next time come in early because we're tired and want to go home." I was really shocked because we called in to make sure it was ok to come in late! After the massage, we were stopped by the employees who had the nerve to ask for a tip. Do not waste your money, go to another business that treats customers with respect! read more

It doesn't look like much from outside but my massage was awesome! I can't wait until I go back!!

Friendly staff and clean. They have great deals for first time customers, get 5 massages receive one free.

A friend gave me a gift card for a $20 foot massage. I thought maybe it would be about 20 minutes. It lasted at least an hour, maybe more. I lost track of time. I have had $150 massages at high end places. This was honestly the best massage I have ever had. Hunter was my masseuse. He was amazing. I highly recommend him. That massage was $20. I can't imagine the $40 one. He said he'd throw in hot rocks for free. Seriously, come here as soon as you can and as often as you can. Pamper yourself weekly for only $20. It's totally worth it. read more

My wife went there today for a massage. The 45 minute full body massage costs $32 which is very reasonable. The issue was at the end when the massage was completed the therapist requested a tip. The lady turned down a $3 tip and exclusively requested a $10 tip. There should never be an expectation from your clients for a tip and for a specific amount. Providing exceptional service and being paid for it should be sufficient. There are plenty of spas available and we are certainly NOT returning to fletcher spa. read more

I have had massages all over the world, from Thailand to the Philippines to Bali and Indonesia and even in Kenya and Fiji and this was about the worst I have had. Tempted by the inexpensive $40 price, I thought I would try it. From the outside, it looked a bit run down and my opinion didn't change when I walked in. The man at the reception desk did not speak much English at all but he led me to a dank private room with a massage table covered by a clean sheet. A picture was hung up of a woman enjoying a massage next to scented candles and a beautiful background. This room smelled of what I think was paint and there was nothing inviting in it at all. He said to wait 3 minutes and my masseuse would be in. 15 minutes later she arrived. She spread a sheet over me and proceeded to walk on my back and legs. I have heard of this but this was a first and I didn't care for it. It was not at all relaxing. Then she began to massage my feet pressing so hard it became painful. After that, she began to use her hands over the sheet and not on my skin to massage my shoulders, back, butt and legs. Eventually she would massage with her hands directly on my skin but the oil she used had no scent and I am guessing it may have been cooking oil. She actually spent very little time on any one part and the massage was the first I have had that was not in any way relaxing. When she did do my legs, she thrust the sheet so far up my groin that it felt like I had a diaper on. It was supposed to be a full hour massage but since she walked in 15 minutes after the hour, walked out a few times to get a wet towel and finished at 2pm sharp, it means that I only got 45 minutes, at most, of a massage. Massages are supposed to be both sensual and relaxing and there was nothing of that this day. When she left the room, I got dressed and she greeted me with a very tiny cup of water, the kind the dentist gives you to spit out and held out her hand for a tip. She couldn't speak any English so when I asked her questions during the massage she would just say 'yes' even though a yes or no was not called for. But she knew how to say "TIP'. The name she used was 'Lola' though, being Chinese, I doubt if that was her real name. I would never go back there again. read more
