This playground is one of my favorite in the area. It seems to be on the newer side, as the…read moreequipment is in great shape. There's an area for younger kids, and an area for older kids; and both sections have robust options. (That's not always the case!) There's also ample shade here. I cannot stress how delightful that is, especially in the summer. There's an area of musical instruments, which I've seen at a handful of other playgrounds, but, again, it's in pretty great shape here. The sand area is relatively clean. At least for now! It's also close to downtown in case you have any errands you need to do on your way.

There are musical instruments, swings and multiple structures to climbs, as well as a small sand park area. Many of the structurs have ages printed on them. I would suggest that parents definitely watch smaller kids on some of the structures so they don't hurt themselves. There's a structure with rolling pieces and I would definitely see a kid falling and hurting themselves or getting a finger pinched while moving across. The swingset has swings for different stages and abilities which I love. People form the community gave back to build this wonderful park and it's a great addition to the neighborhood. Be careful walking across the street. The multiple stop signs make drivers impatient and they speed up almost as if to scare you out of the way, despite rushing to another stop sign.

Hubby took off from work and it was a pleasant change to have him home. We spent his last day off…read morewith our little and took her out to a park and for some ice-cream afterwards. We read that Sagamore park was considered one of the best parks in Westchester and while I think it's neat, I don't think it's top tier. Thw good thing is that it's not too far a drive, despite having to take a parkway to travel there. It's a nice park and hidden from the street. It took us a bit to find it because there's no obvious signage that is noticeable whole driving. You would definitely have to know what you're looking for. There is street parking in a residential area but the road is pretty busy so you might want to try and snag same side of the street parking so that you don't have to cross with your kids. The playground is shrouded in foliage and hidden in the trees. It's kind of cool how it's hidden and makes it seem like a secret garden. There's a double gate, one gate leading to a long ramp which makes traveling with a strolled a non-issue. At the top of the ramp there's another gate. This is grate in case a kid figures out how to open the first, you'll have time to grab them before they get to the second but the park is small enough to keep a close eye on the terror tots. The park has a few different sections. There are a few swings to play on, a huge 3D rop le triangle that is sturdy enough to climb and then you have the sand park. I wish I had known about the sand feature because then I would have insisted that the kid wear sneaks. She wore sandals that was a little hit of a mess afterwards but I have wipes and such in the car so we just cleaned her off after playtime. There are structures in the sandbox and it reminded me of my childhood when I grew up playing in a sand playground. Now, all the playgrounds are rubberized or have the soft blacktop. The other cool thing about this park is that there are bikes and toys left here for any kid to enjoy. People have donated through the years and the kids all play with everything and leave them for another child to discover. We had a nice stay and our daughter had fun playing and making friends. All of the kids played nicely with each other and the parents are very observant, which is something I like to see. After our visit, we drove to the main street and grabbed some ice-cream before heading home. Bronxville is beautiful and very walkable so it's worth it to make a day for lunch, park play and sweets with your kids.

It was a very small private playground setting. Not too much to do. Rather Fleetwood playground.read more

Additionally, it's kept more private, but not there's not tons of eateries so you have to bring your own food, but the bathrooms are amazing. Kept beautifully clean with changing rooms galore. It's an easy walk to the beach plenty of parking outside and people do go to the park outside, so it's wonderful there as well. Life preserves are given freely to those who cannot swim and encouraged, which is totally a plus as well. We sat there on the beach, waiting for the tide to come in. Had our food played some games with their hours and everyone was pleasant and nice too that came around. I actually would like to do this next year. I'm sorry I found out about this place this year at the end of the summer.

Lovely visit to Glen Island Park…read more While this park is restricted to Westchester residents only...there were no attendants when I visited on a late Friday morning in November. This restriction may be during the peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) but I am not sure. Lots of parking in large main lot. Again, I believe there is a fee for parking but that may be effective during the peak season only. Lots of space throughout the park. Some tabled, grilling and gazebo areas throughout...some of which require reservations for. Lots of paths with great views of the Long Island Sound and the marina.
