Having read the previous reviews I can see that my frustration is the same as those posting 3 years ago. Bottom line? This store is understaffed. There appear to be lots of folks stocking the shelves but no department managers who know where anything is. Ok, I can deal with that since I usually know what I'm looking for. But heading to the check out line is just the beginning of the worst frustration of all. I've been trying to patronize this store for the past 3 months since its convenient. Additionally, they carry name brand tools and clothing at a decent price. But over the past 3 months as I walk into the store at various times of the day and day of the week I almost always see only 1 register open. It rare to see another register open until there are a dozen or more customers in line. Once you get to the check out these young and inexperienced employees have no sense of the frustration customers have waiting in line. Perhaps the computer system is to blame because it seems they have to click a dozen buttons to initiate and finalize a sale. Fleet Farm members know they need to enter their phone number in the keypad and since it comes up as the items are scanned I take the opportunity to enter it. Then I wait, and wait, and wait as the employee then asks "are you a member?" Yes, I say and I already entered my number. Then more buttons are pushed and its decision time as to whether I want to use a card or pay cash. That's if everything goes without a hitch. I have yet to check out or see others ahead of be attempt to check out without the cashier having to ask for help. Someone comes over and talks them through the process then continues to given them an inservice while customers wait. Frankly, this store needs some executive intervention with staff training and an overhaul of department management. From now on, unless I absolutely need it from Fleet Farm I'm going to Menards, Target, or Walmart. Its just not worth the aggravation. Too bad they spent all that money on this store when someone else could have put in something more useful. read more

I wish there was a negative star for feedback. I waited for 20 minutes alone at the Eau Claire garden desk for the employee to finally ring me up for a pick up order. Finally got my $350 receipt and drove to guard gate, then waited 40 minutes for a fork lift to even show up, then another 20 for him to drive around, come back and tell me they were out of stock. AFTER I PAID FOR IT! So I would now have to walk all the way in to customer service to cancel my order. CS was a bunch of employees standing around joking with each other and all they could do was fake apology, run down FF, and patronize me over and over. I had to buy a different brand and size, but when the cashier asked the manager if he could give me the employee discount for all my time, he said no. I got pretty loud in his face, and everyone in the store knew what they had done, and then didn't even try to compensate me for over an hour of my wasted time. They don't care about the customer. You are just a pain in their butt, and no one even knows what's in stock or not, or where it is. I will NEVER give them my business ever again! read more

You wouldn't know there is a pandemic going by the way this store operates. I walked in wearing my mask to keep others safe but not Fleet Farm employees! Even though they say "They are doing everything possible to keep you safe.." every time I go there none of their employees are wearing masks and neither are most of the shoppers. The employees are all walking around spreading their germs throughout the store and not doing everything possible to keep shoppers safe. I'll spend my dollars down the street where they are keeping everyone safe. I've stopped shopping here! read more

One flyer for Thurs, Fri, and Sat. $49.99 snowshoes and one flyer for same snowshoes you get a $50.00 gift card starting this Fri. Guess what? None available within 100 miles of Eau Claire. Fleet Farm needs to redo its math in shoe dept. Bought shoes there today. Checked sku to make sure of sale price. Shoe advertised as 25% off. Guess what Fleet Farm...25% off of 49.99 is NOT 39.99 which is what shoes rang up. Should have been 37.49. Screwed out of 2.50. 2nd time this has happened. I buy a lot of tools and farm supplies, so I was really excited when I found out a Fleet Farm would be opening on the south side of Eau Claire and I wouldn't need to drive all the way to Blain's Farm & Fleet in Hallie anymore. But this store has been nothing but a big disappointment to me and every time I go, I dislike it more. They usually don't have what I need, and if anyone is around to ask for help, they usually don't know anything. A couple days ago was the final straw (and I had long since tapered off to the point of only using this store for emergencies instead of going a few times a week like I used to). I stopped in the morning before work and, as is typical of my visits there, I left with only one of the four things I urgently needed. I could only find one plastic feed pan in the entire farm department. Not one size and style, mind you, but one single pan and it was the size of a dog dish. There were no rubber pans, either. The only other pans I could find were galvanized hog pans. And hookover feed buckets? Nope, none, I could not find a single one. If you've been to Blain's Farm & Fleet you know they have an entire WALL of feed pans, buckets, and troughs in stock in any color or size you could possibly want. These are basic farm supplies, after all. I could go on about similar experiences at this store (I've had several), but I think you get the idea. Anyway, I grabbed the one item on my list they actually had in stock and went to the checkout. There was only one lane open with no cashier to be seen. Another customer soon joins the line. There are now two customers in line, waiting, with no one around. I considered just leaving my item on the counter and walking out since I'd have to go to another store anyway, but I really needed it now. The cashier finally slooowly strolls over to check us out (no apology or thank you to either of us for waiting). She asked if I found everything all right today, and I replied no. I guess that was the wrong answer since instead of asking if I'd been able to find anyone to help (also no), or simply ask what I hadn't been able to find, she replied in an extremely loud and sarcastic tone that the other customer also heard, "all-RIGHTY!" I didn't respond, but was shocked at her rudeness and wondered why she even bothered asking if she didn't care anyway. read more

I can share the frustrations of the other reviewers, but I think it may be a sign of the times. Not enough check-out people, few employees available to help, etc. It seems to be getting incrementally better, but slowly. When they didn't have what I need, I was told it was 'in back,' just not placed on the shelf yet - so they went back and got what I needed. They are advertising that they are hiring, but so are a lot of other stores - there seems to be a competition for labor. If Fleet Farm wants to prosper here with the competition it has, it'll have to find ways to attract quality employees and keep them, or find their customer base getting increasing frustrated and going elsewhere. I will salute FF for bringing in lower gas prices - forcing the 'big dogs' to lower their prices, at least in the area of their store!! That makes me want to patronize the store more.... read more

Experience at gas pumps 3/5: after pumping, go to pay, people already in line, fine no issue. Clerk asks customer in front of me $23.00 ? Person agrees and pays. I'm thinking that is strange same amount I have. My turn to pay, clerk asks me pump#, I say 15 amt is $23.00. Clerk says I don't have anything on pump 15. I point out to my vehicle in front of pump15. I say the person in that pickup leaving I think paid my amount due. Another clerk comes over and says we aren't showing anything on #15,are you sure that is the pump. They never even look at the pump where the pickup was parked. I go outside double check pump# and amount, CLERKS FINALLY look outside instead of their computer screens!! I come in confirm pump 15, $23.00. The clerks than waste more of my time trying to reduce the earlier pickup customers total to match mine. Disappointed not only with pickup driver for not correcting clerk BUT NO APOLOGY from either clerk for THEIR mistake and taking my time and other customers. At least an apology would have helped. Wonder if I will make the windy stop for FF gas again! read more
