They have a huge selection, but the prices are premium. It used to be a great sporting goods store, not with their expansion. It's a clothing store that also sells sporting goods. I personally don't like the direction that it's went in. I do like the selection of shoes, however. The staff there is always helpful with recommendations. High quality everything. It's kinda expensive. But it is 2025. My purchase was UGG boots. Love them!

The only positive thing I can say is that they (obviously) carry a lot of high quality items. HOWEVER, almost every single employee I've ever interacted with in that store acts SO pretentious. Looking for clearance/sale/cheap options? Avoid the (pushy) employees at all costs. They will definitely cater to you, though, if you come wearing all name brand and open wallet in hand. read more

I ordered a pair of shoes online and received a pair of shoes that had obviously been used. The heels were purple but dirty. The laces were undone. There was no paper, cardboard or anything in the shoes. That tells you alot about a company. If they're selling customers used shoes, what else are customers getting that's been returned/used. What a terrible way to treat your customers. $70 off when you open a credit card and this is what you get. Certainly wouldn't recommend ordering online or at all if this is company policy. I'd rate 0 if I could. read more

Wow! What an amazing place! Scheels puts Bass Pro, Academy, and Dicks's Sporting to shame. They carried everything we were looking for, and then some. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is laid out well, which is a good thing, since it's HUGE! Don't forget to shop their many sales racks and shelves. I wish we had a Scheels in Florida! read more

When I was about 12 yrs. Old I would stare at the .22 rifles in display case at Scheels in Minot, N.D. Last Saturday I purchased a handgun from Scheels and an EXTREMELY helpful young man, over the phone at the Mankato, Mn. store. He transferred the gun to the EauClaire, Wi. store. Today I picked up the gun in EauClaire from another EXTREMELY helpful man there. It really makes the childhood memories even warmer to receive great service 40 yrs. Later from a chain of stores that used to entertain me as a kid....they knew I couldn't buy a gun then but always let me look. read more

The best chain sport stores in the US by far! I lived in South Dakota and really enjoyed our visit to Scheels. Unfortunately they don't have one in Madison just a sub-par competitor. Scheels great selection of everything!! a HUGE amount of sports clothes, shoes, hunting gear, bike gear, water sports, fitness and guns. The the only thing I don't like about scheels, all handguns are behind a steel mess cage. Its so difficult to look and focus on what you're looking at. I have purchased several elsewhere for that very reason, I just dont bother looking through the mesh. My only other complaint is that I wish there were more stores!! read more

Literally everything is overpriced. All employees look like they are so unhappy. Also, my husband went in to get a replacement fishing pole. He was standing there for over 30 minutes waiting for someone to help him. Finally, two or more managers asked if he needed help (while he has the snapped fishing pole in his hands). The managers said they'd send someone over to help him from fishing cuz they didn't know anything about fishing. No one came lol. So the one manager goes "ok no one is coming. I'll help you." That manager was simply standing there moving fishing rods around lol. My husband had to start looking at very expensive fish finders to get two employees to jump on helping him. That's what kind of service you get when your employees are paid on commission. read more
