Very disappointed! I made an appointment for a Monday Repair between 2-5pm. I explained that I work far from home and they offered to call me to give me notice of when the repair guy would be on his way. They said that wouldn't be a problem and I would get a call. I never got a call. When I called at 2:30pm, they said he wouldn't be there before 4pm. I rush home and nothing. I call back at 4:50pm and was told that he's not coming anymore. What?!?! How do you make an appointment and not even call the person to cancel? I was told I'd get a call the next day to work something out and nothing! I think this is poor customer service and a horrible way to conduct business! read more

Wouldn't recommend... Unfortunately our new fridge starting failing in under 6 months, each service visit seemed to require another service visit. One diagnosis was done well by Fleet, the subsequent repairs were a series of 'hack jobs' - breaking almost immediately and sometimes in a worse state. He then demands an $86 serrvice fee because I do not have him fix the washer. I called another guy and he opened the back of the machine and change one part for $159.95 and it now works great. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. TOTAL DECEPTION IN PRICING. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. Total lack of transparency and way way too overpriced. There is a $295 minimum labor charge for any repair no matter how much time it takes. They don't inform you of this when you book your appointment. They only tell you of a 120$ charge to come to the house to diagnose your problem. They tell you that this will be applied to the bill if you accept the repair or charged to you if you decline the repair. BUT they do not tell you that the minimum for any repair is $295 plus the cost of the parts. I paid $350 for a 35$ part and ten minutes of labor. The technician told me the part was about 170$. But when I finally got the itemized bill (which I had to e-mail them and ask to be sent) I was astonished. The part was $35 and the labor was $295 and then there was tax. Absolutely no transparency. I e-mailed the company to ask for justification on the bill and they had none. They only said that this was their policy. I believe that the are trying to hide their policy to deceive customers. Fleet appliance came to my house a week before Christmas to diagnose my oven not working, they determined the issue and ordered the part I was told it would be in before Christmas and I was charged for the service call. They then notified me the part wouldn't be in until after so I said if I can get the part could you install it and they said yes. The technician came to install the part and broke it and because I purchased it the part cost is on me. So I had no oven for Christmas. They received a new part came to my house on December 29 and installed it, a month and a half later the oven is not working again same issue I called for them to come back they tell me I'll be charged for the service call, I'm in this for over $500 and my oven does not work! I talked to the dispatcher/manager she was extremely rude and arrogant and was not willing to work with me. I highly suggest DO NOT Use Fleet Appliance!! read more

This is the most unprofessional repair company i ever dealt with. After waiting over a week for parts and taking time off work to meet a repairman. He arrived without the correct help to make the repair. So i assisted. After he was finished the same problem still existed. I called my retailer and they asked that the repair company issue a report. The repairman said he would write the report immediately, I called the office several times that day and was told they were still waiting on the repairman. Total waste of time and money! They made a call to repair my washer and told me it would take 10 days to get the part. I called after 10 days and was told the technician quit and they don't know what part is needed so we have to start totally over. What if I hadn't called to follow-up? They came to fix our dishwasher and the service rep broke the keypad, so somehting that was not working properly is now not working at all. He went to make a call from his truck (the fourth call he made during his visit, promising us he would return). When he drove off, we spoke to Michelle Coons, the manager at Fleet, and she said she told him to leave since he couldn't fix it. When we advised her that he left the dishwasher completely unusable and worse than when he showed up, she stated that there was nothing they more they would do and that we had to take it up with LG. Since we purchased the extended warranty from home Depot, and they contracted with Fleet, we called them. Hoping they have a better customer focus than fleet. ADVICE if these people come to your house, send them away or you may be worse off than when they arrived, at least based on our experience. You've been warned!! read more

Having an early Thanksgiving Day dinner at my girlfriends. Had a part malfunction on the oven, they came he for me to tell what was wrong and what was broken. He said I dont have those parts and he would have to price them but labor would be at least $240. They knew that we needed it fixed today and was the only reason we called. They did absolutely nothing and still charged $97 just for showing up. If they dont care spare parts on the truck then dont show up and charge a crazy fee to do what I had already done. He also told us to shop around for a new oven. Btw i have no experience with appliances at all. This company is a huge scam and I would not recommend using them for anything. We have used the services of Fleet Appliance Corp. for 20+ years, and have always been most satisfied with their technicians and repairs or service done to our appliances. Unfortunately, this changed on July 21st, 2018. We had been experiencing noise (possibly a bearing) on our 15 year old Maytag Neptune Washing Machine during the "spin cycle". The machine finally stopped working (failed to drain) after washing a bathroom rug that disintegrated during the wash cycle. The young man from Fleet Appliance came on Saturday afternoon to service our machine. He removed the back, spent some time looking around and checking for parts on his phone, and informed us that our bearings were fine but the machine needed a new "Pump" and "shock absorbers", which were not being made any more because of the age of the machine. He said the parts might be obtainable but the repair would be expensive, somewhere between $500.00 and $800.00. He said he would check the availability and someone from Fleet would call on Monday. He didn't run the machine or disassemble any parts, even after being told about the rug disintegrating!!! On Sunday, my husband removed and cleaned out the drain hoses. He sprayed the bearings with WD-40 and we did a load of laundry. THE MACHINE WORKS PERFECTLY !!! I called Fleet on Monday to complain, and asked to be refunded the $97.71 "service fee". The gentleman I spoke to said she needed to speak to her supervisor and would call me back. When I was not contacted by 1PM, I called my bank and "stopped payment" on the check. Losing the $25.00 bank fee is preferable to the "service fee". Needless to say, in the future we'll be calling one of the many other Appliance Repair Companies listed on Google ! read more

Avoid this company. What a horrible experience. Fridge was under LG warranty for parts. Fleet diagnoses that the fridge needs entire new internal system for a labor only cost of over $800. I had to call LG to order the parts and then called Fleet to set up appointment. Lady in the office tells me they cant do the repair for 3 weeks or so and I have to pay for the parts in advance. I tell her the parts are under warranty and LG is providing them for free. She tells me I still have to pay for them in advance. Nasty, arrogant woman at Fleet ends up hanging up on me when I question her. I talk to LG and LG says I shouldnt be paying for the part and the parts in question would typically be a $400-$500 repair. I get another repair company to look at the fridge. Besides Fleet trying to get money for the parts under warranty Fleet said it needed a whole new internal system when it just needed a compressor. Repair was done for less than half the cost of what Fleet said. Turns out I should have checked the Better Business Bureau and Suffolk County Consumer Affairs before I used Fleet. They have multiple complaints at both, not to mention here on Yelp. read more

Technician took more than $200 cash deposit and wasn't in a position to give me a receipt for it because the company has a policy of being paperless. Then they disappeared for more than a week, simply not showing on the day we'd set up for the repair. Absolutely maddening to get anyone on the phone at the main office, and after the work was done, it took over a week and multiple calls to get a receipt emailed. My sense is that there's a huge disparity between the business side (frustrating, poorly organized, largely unresponsive) and the actual repair side (competent, careful, but not coordinating effectively with the office). read more

I would not suggest using the repair company Fleet Appliance anytime soon. This place has to be the worst ran business on Long island. They sent a gentleman here to fix our washer. The employee told me it was the pump after he took about 15 guesses. I asked him what was wrong with the pump and he shows me there was a sock caught inside of it. He was going to replace the pump with a pump that did not fit but he could rig it. I laughed at this dude and asked him to let me look at it. I removed the sock with a pair of pliers. He put the washer supposedly back together and then moved onto out fridge that was leaking water. he could not figure out what was wrong. He leaves charging me 280 dollars. I go to work the washer and it falls apart into about five pieces and he broke the ice machine drain to my fridge. The employee told me he would cut me a brake on the fridge. Now they will not replace the part because it was not on the work order. When I called they crushed the kid saying he overcharged me and they think he has been stealing money. Yet they will not refund any money or replace a part they broke. all because they talked to the employee and he said he did not touch our fridge. they sent someone to put together the washer. I started off so calm with these people but I finally lost it on them. The woman's response was they are a real company they have an office and uniforms. You can not make this up. Justin the serviceman was fantastic! He was honest, forthright about the problem with my dish draw and superbly competent. Fleet was a cold call I made to fix my dish draw, all I knew was that they fixed Fischer-Paykel dish draws. Sandra and Connie were wonderful, offered me a 30 minute pre-visit call by Justin and even called to tell me my window of time arrival had changed due to a change in route. Justin called 20 minutes before he arrived (that was wonderful) and he arrived within the time window I was given! I can't say enough nice things about Justin, Sandra and Connie. Fleet was the best cold-call for service I've ever made! I knew nothing about them before but will now recommend them if friends need appliance repairs. read more

This company does not keep in the time frame that they set up. Sure there on line appointments are a gimmick. I took the entire day off from work said they would be there between 1p and 3p. Called at 1p to get an ETA, stated by Lisa that they would be there before 3p. Yes you guessed 3p comes along no repairman. Called at 3:10 pm., to Lisa he is enroute from West Hampton will be there in 40 minutes., said no thanks. Called Mr. appliance will be here before 9am next day. Initially, I thought this was a reputable company. The person I spoke to on the phone was quite pleasant and professional. The service tech who came out the same day also was quite professional. However, I cannot feel anything but ripped off after the ordeal was over. My problem was my dryer was not turning on. The tech quickly diagnosed the problem as the thermal fuse. He then went to his vehicle to work up a quote. He came back inside and told me it would be $224 plus tax. Not knowing anything about appliance repair, I accepted the price and he proceeded to change out the fuse and the dryer was up and running again in 10 minutes. After such a quick repair I questioned why the price was so high. He responded that it is a fixed price in their repair book and it does not break down the price by parts and labor. i guess he felt bad about the price being so high so he cleaned out the dryer duct too while he was there. The total time the tech was on site at my house was 45 minutes. After he left, I went online to get an idea what a thermal fuse for a whirlpool dryer would cost me. I called the office the next day and received the same line about the price book and there is no parts and labor breakdown even after I told the person that you can buy that part quite cheaply from many vendors. She then offered to have the service manager call me back to see if he could do something for me. I'm still waiting for that call back for a month now. Do yourself a favor and think twice before calling these guys for your appliance repairs. If you only want good service, by all means call them. Spare yourself the aggravation. Everybody there is completely incompetent. After six appointments and $400, our dryer still doesn't work. First appt, tech showed up without an oven dolly, even though the rep assured me over the phone that he would have one after I explained our setup and it was agreed that one was needed. Second appt, I was called the day before the appt to tell me a tech was out with the flu so no one would be coming. Third appt, 15 minute before appt time window was to close, I was called to say tech didn't have an oven dolly so he wasn't coming. Fourth appt, tech said it was one of two parts, would order and come back. Fifth appt, tech replaced igniter unit for $397. This did not fix the problem. Sixth appt, tech comes back and says the dryer is not producing heat bcause two of the louvrers on the vent are broken (after he broke one of them). We replaced the vent and the same thing is wrong with the dryer. At this point, we don't want this incompetent back in our home and are are looking for another repair service. we called the company to try and resolve these issues, but they never got back to us, so we have placed the charge in dispute. read more

Last year called Fleet Appliance Corp. for my washer as it advertised that their techs were "trained and certified by Maytag Appliances". Washer was making noise in spin cycle. BUT WASHER WAS STILL WORKING. I was in the middle of washing baby clothes when a very young Fleet Appliance Corp. tech came to my door (meaning, how much experience could he have?) He said that it was good that I was washing the baby's clothes as it would enable him to hear the noise when the washer spun. When the wash stopped, he took apart my entire washer (I recall seeing parts EVERYWHERE, asked WHY with no reply from the tech except that I should not be in the same room for safety reasons).He gave me a price of over $1,000 to fix it! I asked why as it worked except for the noise in spin cycle, he said it was worse than we thought and gave me mumbo jumbo. I explained I wanted to speak with my spouse as I didn't think the washer warranted so much money to fix it. He said he would put it back together again and give me the paper estimate. Shortly after he left I went back to washing the baby's clothes EXCEPT that the machine no longer started!!! I pulled out the plug, then re-inserted the plug. I tried to start the machine up again, NOTHING. I called my spouse at work. He said to check the circuit breaker; I did, STILL NOTHING. I called Fleet Appliance Corp. and asked for BOB, THE OWNER. Each time I left messages for Bob, he never had the respect to return my calls because I told the girls at Fleet Appliance Corp. that my washer was working UNTIL their tech took it apart. My husband called also and left messages for Bob. Bob NEVER called him either. I then called Maytag (now Whirlpool) and spoke extensively with one of its managers whereupon I was told that FLEET APPLIANCE CORP. HAS NEVER HAD ONE REPAIR TECH TRAINED AND CERTIFIED BY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL AND THAT MANY APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANIES SAY THEY ARE TRAINED AND CERTIFIED BY THEM, BUT THEY ARE NOT. WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG SAID THAT IT HAD NEVER EVEN HEARD OF FLEET APPLIANCE CORP. I told the manager that Fleet Appliance Corp.'s website states "Whirlpool/Maytag trained and certified technicians" and I was told that the statement was a bold-faced lie. I contacted Fleet Appliance Corp. AGAIN, told them what Maytag/Whirlpool told me. It did not deny nor confirm, but said that it would send a senior-rated tech the following day. "Why didn't you send me a "senior-rated tech before", I asked, with no reply. The senior tech came, but also with the same young tech who destroyed my washer. Once again I was told that I could not stay to watch them "for my own safety". He had testers with him, removed some parts, put them back in again. Told me that the younger tech was correct per his diagnosis. I was seething at this point so after they left I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool again. Spoke with a customer service rep who said that he had just spoken with my husband(?) who called for assistance in diagnosing the problem with the washer. Knowing my husband was at work and that the call centers can see the telephone number of the callers, I asked him if he still had the telephone number that my "husband" called from. When he recited it, I knew immediately that it was not my husband's work telephone number as well as knew immediately that it was the Fleet Appliance Corp. tech's telephone number as he had called me from HIS cell prior to coming to my home. I asked what they discussed, telling him that it was not my husband, but the service tech who called him. He told me that they talked about "shorting out" my washer and if there was any way that he knew to fix it. The rep told him that he did not. Obviously, it was very shortly after that call that the senior tech "backed up" the younger tech as he realized there was nothing he could do to fix my washer that the younger tech destroyed, so he lied to me also. I called Fleet Appliance Corp. post the techs' leaving my home and told the girl that answered all that had occurred; demanded to speak with Bob. Again, despite my and my husband's calls to him, Bob NEVER returned any our calls. Girls answering phones continually "covered" for Bob, for the young tech as well as the senior tech despite my telling them of what I knew of what the young tech did. A couple of days later I was forced to go to Home Depot to purchase new washer due to the irreparable damage Fleet Appliance Corp.'s tech did to my washer. My Maytag washer had many features we needed so to get a comparable washer, I had to pay almost $2,000. Bob, the owner, is a player and shaker in the appliance industry, I was told by Consumer Affairs and BBB, who is more concerned with socializing and networking with home builders and the like, to create a name for himself and his company than compensating "the victims" of his tech's damages. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHARLATAN AND HIS UNTRAINED AND NON-CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS. Don't say you were not warned... read more

Had to have 2 separate repairman here twice each with no resolve after ordering and replacing parts. Called the office back telling them problem still not fixed and they okay will send someone out tomorrow. Called to check time frame for the tech and they tell me I have to call the warranty company back. Asked them how am I supposed to know that. Her response "it says it in my notes". This great but nobody called me to tell me that. They can't send someone until they get the workorder. I call back with the work ordeR now tell me I have to speak to the manager who isn't in until after 12. Call back after 12 wait on hold for 14 minutes to speak with her. She says sorry I have too many calls you have to call the warranty company back and get another service provider we can't handle the volume. This is a very sad and frustrating story. After calling Sears Repair three times and their techs never showing up at the appointed time, I suggested that my sister call Fleet, as it appeared the ratings were OK. So she did. Her Kenmore Elite dishwasher was not getting water during the cycle. We looked up possible problems online and asked for an estimate should it be any of those possibilities. THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU AN ESTIMATE even if you give them the part number and price. HHhhmmmm. (Sears won't either). We also told the woman answering the phone that the dishwasher was under a counter top and would require an effort to pull it out, as the tile floor had been applied after the original linoleum, and was now higher. She assured me that Paul would be coming and he could handle it. When Paul and his assistant arrived, they were very nice, but refused to try to remove the dishwasher, saying they were afraid to crack the counter. My sister and I have seen it done several times before and it simply requires using a crowbar. She TRIED to get them to try, BUT the techs refused and tried to charge her $89 for the visit. After a little back and forth with the home office and a little fibbing on the part of the woman at the other end about the machine not being accessible (even though she had assurred us it could be easily handled), they did not insist on being paid. SO, I came over with my crowbar, lifted the counter & easily pulled out the dishwasher (I am 67 years old and have just gone through chemo & radiation). Then my sister called them to come back. When they came back, they discovered that the water hose connected to the motor had come off. Evidently the $2 metal screw clamp had dislodged. Odd, but as I found out later, evidently KitchenAid, which makes this Kenmore appliance has had this happen frequently, yet refuses to have a recall or cover their clients for this faulty connection. When the Fleet techs saw the uncoupled hose, they refused to touch it or reconnect it, saying that they did not want to be responsible for the hose breaking. How odd that repair techs should say that. It is a simple 1/2 inch rubber hose and clamp. Easy peasy. However, they convinced my sister that the ENTIRE motor assembly needed to be replaced, as re-connecting the hose was impossible. This would cost her close to $500 (or more with tax). She felt it was just too much, so paid them their $89 for doing NOTHING. BIG RIP OFF, as it turns out, because Sears was called back and re-connected that $2 clamp- pushed the dishwasher back under the counter- END of story! So either the Fleet techs are just incapable of doing easy work like re-connecting hoses, or they are 'encouraged' to find a more expensive solution. My advice- DO NOT CALL THEM. This is the worst co I have ever dealt with in my life and would actually not even give it one star if I had the option to do so. I have NEVER written a negative review but I have had such an abominable experience with this co that I felt compelled to do so. We have had an appliance broken for 3 months. Despite multiple visits (the service person is actually quite nice, helpful, has a wonderful work ethic and is the only caring individual in the co) but the staff is horrible. One person doesn't know what the other person has promised. We are going on 6 visits now for one appliance, appointments have been canceled, then lied about calls which were never made, we were informed parts were ordered but then another person called to indicate they needed to order...its really too long of a story to write. Rather than righting all of the wrongs, they refuse to schedule an appointment at a time which might be convenient..rather looking to maintain a convenient schedule for them. One of the woman promised me 4 appointments ago she would make things up to me but it has only become more difficult to deal with them. read more
