After a few telephone calls I discovered that Yellowhead Mechanical is one of the only companies in the area that does this sort of work. We live in a modular home which has a crawl space instead of a basement and not all companies do confined space work. The dispatcher at Yellowhead Mechanical told me he could have someone over in about an hour. Two gentlemen were at my door in about 30 minutes. After some diagnostics, it was confirmed that that heat tape on the water line had failed. Within two hours the problem was fixed and the cost to do so was within the quote I was given. Steve was the technician I talked with. He and his partner were knowledgeable and efficient. I will certainly keep Yellowhead Mechanical in mind for the future.

I went from having a simple fix to having to get a cleaning crew in to clean up raw sewage. He doesn't charge me for making everything worse and is on his way. I frantically call Roto-Rooter who came out and snaked all lines that could effect each other. Problem fixed, cleaning crew comes and I call this company to get reimbursed for the cleaning I didn't need before they came. The owner hangs up on me (I wasn't swearing or being rude) and acts like he did me a favor not charging me when he made things worse.

When asked about what would be done to compensate my clothing as it was soaked and stained red I was told I would have to send a receipt I did nothing followed so I went to get my clothes dry cleaned to see if that would fix it as it was a sweater that my grandmother that passed away had given me, it was still slightly stained. Said to send him a receipt, waited a few months asked again and was told "you must not be as busy as I am" when I asked to pay for his clear negligence. If this is how he deals with such a clean at fault situation I can't imagine doing actual business with this business owner.

I had to follow up myself. After waiting another week with no word about the part or a return visit, I called again and told them I felt I had been more than patient. I gave them one more week to fix the system or I'd call someone else. Still, nothing has been done. This started in July. It's October. The air conditioning still isn't fixed.

While my husband used the wet vac to haul out gallons of sump water and pour them into the toilet, I navigated the AI reception and got a call back from a real person who said a plumber would be there in half an hour. Francisco arrived on schedule and used a pump to drain many gallons out of the sump well, and let us know it hadn't been a backup but a failure of unknown cause. He replaced the sump punp and added an alarm, which we should have done before but forgot to after the last service. He was pleasant and reassuring and cleaned up after himself meticulously. We got to work cleaning up the water encroachment. The bill was about what we expected for an emergency service with an install included and I think the alarm was added without charge. These things happen and no one likes them, but this went about as smoothly as any emergency home relair we've encountered this far in twenty five years at this location.

He called with a quote of $2000 on top of the $200 service call. We asked for him to only clean 3 P-traps and remove the standing water in the dishwasher. We told him to leave after that. He did provide pictures via text. We managed to tell the tenants how to flush the drains. Everything is working now. The quote was inflated and unnecessary.
