I have been meaning to leave this review for sometime now since my wedding and engagement pics were a while ago. From previous posts I can see where people may be put off by Carina because she's got a different vibe. But her work is amazing!!! I had the pickiest and most makeup experienced bridesmaids ever! and every single one till this day speaks so highly of her work. I have tried getting my make up done for years and it never fails... I have to always wipe off something and do over. Carina is the best in the industry if you ask me. I'm olive skinned and my eyelids are difficult to work with because I have big eyes... She truly made me look flawless in all my pics! She told me she didn't recommend airbrush and was honest about cost and end result. I filmed my first training video for work this past Tuesday. I don't wear a lot of makeup and started to panic when they were telling me I needed to wear "TV" makeup. I have a few friends who do makeup but was afraid of someone getting sick, flaking etc. and I needed to be at work by 9 am. I follow Flawless Faces on Instagram . I decided to send them an email and ask if they took early morning appointments. I was contacted the same day and was told they had a 7:30 am opening - Perfect. Shannon was my makeup artist that day. My nerves started to get to me that morning; however, for the 45 minutes I was there, I felt like I was talking to a friend I had known for awhile. Shannon asked me what type of look I was going for and we both agreed that a more natural and professional look would work best for me and what I was doing. I had a special event planned in OC and my own make-up person had left out of town, so after running across several ads on the internet I decided to take a chance on Flawless Faces. I was ecstatic at the immediate response I received from them and their wonderful and informational web-site. When I arrived, my make-up artist Stephanie was ready and waiting. She was masterful and with her light-touch, created a look that was Exquisite! My hair stylist was Susie and she re-created a romantic up-do from a photo I brought in. I have had my make-up and hair professionally done by many other stylists and often, for many social events and on this occasion my hair style appeared even more amazing than the model in the photograph. Between my make-up by Stephanie and my hair style by Susie I looked Red Carpet Perfect! I received compliments all evening and the best being that I looked 10 yrs younger and was being chased around by younger men. : ) It was a lengthy and windy evening by the ocean in OC but my face and hair where absolutely Flawless start to finish. I booked flawless for my wedding. I would not recommend them. So many things went wrong. Where to start.... i booked a hair and makeup trial before the big day at FF. In speaking with Carina i found out that I couldnt have both of them done the same day because the girls she hires also have other jobs so its impossible to coordinate a time when a hair and makeup artist can both be there. Fine, i start with a makeup trial. I get there and tell the girl i want airbrush makeup. She was like; "oh, i dont do airbrush". Hello! this is a MAKEUP STUDIO how do you not do that? Time to get with the 21st century. I tell her i have really oily skin, but the only foundation she has is MAC studio. Great... I dont even use that stuff at home because it is made for people with dry skin. Here is a tip for ladies with oily skin: Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation works wonders. So $75 later I have my make up done and after 3 hours its completely shiny and sliding off my face. Plus makeup its self was too and I looked like a tranny. Within 3 hours i email Carina telling her that this wont work, even sent her a photo. She was like OK i have another girl for you that does airbrush. I make another appointment and get Molly. She does a great job, great personality, and make up stayed on great. Oh but im out another $75. Carina made ZERO apologies for not clarifying with me that i wanted airbrush. She is the professional that should know to ask these questions. On to hair. So my third trip to her studio to get my first hair trial ($75). I bring extensions since i have fine hair and i want a fuller look. I tell the girl doing my hair that it is really fine so she need to be careful putting in the extensions. But instead she just clips them in and sure enough within an hour they are slipping out of my hair. Note to professional hair stylists, you have to back comb fine hair right where you are going to clip in the extensions to make them stay. Once again I thought this would be obvious but i guess not. Right away i email carina (she never answers her phone) and tell her what happened. Again i have to book another appointment with a different stylist and she wants to charge me another $75! and again no apologies. I was able to haggle her to $40 for the second shot. The second girl (nina) did an ok job and it lasted through the day so i went with her. Total for trials only: $265 plus tip and 4 appointments out to costa mesa. So you might be wondering why i stuck with flawless faces through all this. The reason is they were the only company available on my wedding date. I wanted my hair and makeup people to come to me at my hotel for the wedding. I got married on a saturday in July. and stupid me thought i could wait until May to book these people. There are actually not that many business that are willing to come you on a saturday, so they book up fast. On to wedding day. I had hair and makeup done for myelf, 3 bridesmaids, a mom, and hair for a flower girl. Nina wrote on my contract a start time of 10 am for a 3:30 departure time. I thought this seemed about right to do hair for 6 people. Then i get an email from carina; stating my start time is 11:30. I wrote back: Nina wrote her start time at 10 on the contract. Later is fine for me as long as she has enough time. She responds (i copied and pasted this): Here is the timeline I sent you 3 days ago.... 11:30 Start 12:15 1:00 1:45 2:30 Bride, done by 3:30 So my response: yes thank you. i am confirming since my contract start time is 10 am written by nina herself. so if you are changing that its fine but i want to make sure everyone is aware. She never emailed me back. The girls show up on time and get right to work. Nina and Molly are super friendly and get along with everyone great. But guess what happens.... Nina cant finish on time! what a shock. She finished me at 4:20. My wedding was at 5 and I am still not dressed or even at my venue. So that fun time you have putting on your dress and accessories with your sisters and mom, yeah that didnt happen. Instead i was rushing and had to send everyone ahead to at least start getting some photos before the wedding. I had my photographer there since 4 so she could get pictures of me with my family and bridesmaids and my husband with his. But instead i dont even get to my venue until 4:45. FYI... that 45 mins my photographer was sitting there waiting for me still costs money. Her prices are bit outrages also. She charges $150 for day of bridal hair (so twice as much as the trial when i went to her studio) PLUS a $50 per person travel fee. If your going to charge a travel fee then why is the price double? Especially in my case, when on my wedding day Nina had LESS time to do my hair since we were rushed. For all future brides i hope you can learn something from my mistake. Book your vendors early! So you dont get stuck like i did. read more

For the day of my wedding I had so many people that needed hair/makeup done that we ended up needing 2 stylists so Ashley did hair, Nathalie did makeup and then Ashley did my hair and makeup. I never booked Flawless Faces for my wedding (thank goodness), but my girlfriend did for hers, in which I was a bridesmaid. Carina did my makeup and I did not like it. There was way too much bronze on my eyelid. When I asked her kindly if she could fix it, she got defensive, which I think is not smart for a business that's supposed to provide a certain level of service. She was very unfriendly and unpleasant to work with. To top it off, she took "before" photos of me and the other bridesmaids without even getting our consent and put it on her website. Kelly Zhang's makeup Studio (which I highly recommend) asked for my permission first in writing. Carina's "before" photos of us consisted of her putting on light eye primer all over our eyelids beforehand, which made us look really tired. I guess that makes for a better "after" photo. This place was not my cup of tea. read more

I was the last bridesmaid to have my hair done for a wedding. The girl curled my hair and teased it, for a whopping 5 minutes, with little to no effort. The hair looked fine, but was 100% NOT worth the 80$ I had to pay for an exact 5 minutes of service. Prices should definitely vary and not be a flat rate. My hair was something my mom could have done for me for free and seemed very half ass. She also didn't offer to do anything special to it, like put in a braid or pin some back. My makeup on the other hand came out okay. However, I went home and redid my base since I didn't get what I asked for. She gave me no contour and very light coverage after asking for full coverage, and was also in a hurry since I was last. It felt like she just dusted powder all over my face. Again, i was very unhappy paying $90 for it. I could have got something better by making an appointment at Nordstrom. Although I wanted to be apart of the "getting ready" process with the other bridesmaids, it didn't seem worth it to me. This is definitely not a company I would consider booking for my own wedding. One star for the 'little to no effort' service for the price. read more

Customer service is poor. My bridal makeup was just okay. Every time I communicated with this business via e-mail or phone they were unfriendly and sort of rude (this includes the owner). They always made me feel like they were doing me a favor. When I got my hair done for my engagement shoot the hair stylist told me she was so tired of doing weddings. Obviously, I went with someone else for my day of hair. My make-up artist was nice, but we didn't care for the make-up artist that came with her on my wedding day. Again, unfriendly and was telling the bride (me) what color shadow the bridesmaids were going to wear. I don't think I would use them again. I was asked about their services by another bride to be and I gave her the information, but advised of their poor customer service. Wedding day 11-7-15 Make up by Corina was literally a lifesaver after the anxiety I got from Susan our hair gal. I started out with a trial that Thursday before the wedding. I was very clear as to what I wanted, I came in with multiple photos and exactly how I prefer my hair. I used to dance so I like sleek, and tight. Susan kept giving me pushback for what I liked. She had the nerve to tell me that this is a " wedding not a fashion runway". Did I think I was in a runway show? I couldn't believe it. All I wanted was a bun with a braids going around. It was hilarious to me, considering she kept mentioning that "she is the best and I got the best hair girl" yet she couldn't do the bun I wanted. I got so frustrated with her, I finally said "why don't you just do what you think will look good" since she couldn't do what I was asking her. I feel if you have been doing hair for "20 yeArs" I think a high, big, bun is pretty darn basic. Day of my wedding, I was so upset as well as all of my bridesmaids with how terrible their hair looked. They all prefer clean, sleek, and tight. She then again kept telling us, did we think we were walking on a runway.. Who says that! It's my wedding let me pretend I'm on a runway as she claims if I want to. Sorry I didn't spend 150 on my hair to get a loose curl that was going to fall out in an hour. I wanted something sleek, yet she probably just couldn't do it. For the 85 dollars I had my bridesmaids pay, I feel they wasted on their hair, it wasn't worth it. She literally straightened one of my girls hair and did a weird low pony and a messy twist on the side. She looked like she just got back from the gym. All the girls hair looked disheveled and terrible. Susan kept making comments to me as she was doing my hair the day of, " I still can't believe you waited till the last minute to have your trial done" like really? Why are you stressing me out the day of my wedding. Unreal!!! Sorry but she is highly NOT recommended in my opinion. Long story short, if it wasn't for the fantastic job Corina did on our make up I would have broke down and cried. My make up look amazing and it made my funky hair not even matter. read more

Had my makeup done for my sisters wedding and cannot say enough great things about Britney!!!! She was amazing! Didn't have to touch up any part of my face the entire day. It was truly flawless :) I recommend the airbrush and she was a master of hiding two of the imperfections on my chin and nose. I was recently married (2/20/16), and FF provided such a wonderful hair and makeup experience on my wedding day! Ashley brought such a warm and bubbly personality while she was working on our hair (particularly needed when we were all up at 630am!), and Stephanie brought such a calm presence as she did our makeup (so helpful when you are filled with so many emotions and nerves). Stephanie also patiently took the time to help me when I inadvertently smudged my makeup with tears and gave me tips about what to do to keep everything looking fresh. Yes Carina isn't the warm and fuzzy type but she is truly the best at what she does. I was referred to her and couldn't get her to do my wedding due to scheduling conflict on my end but all her work I've seen is incredible. It's a makeup session so whether or not she's not the bubbliest who cares! You don't need to be besties after. It's about looking beautiful and flawless which is what she's good at. Carina my only suggestion is be a little less abrasive (you don't strike me as the fake type) but it does help customer service. read more

Carina was the MUA for my best friend's wedding this past Saturday. She met us on location in our hotel room in Dana Point. I've had my makeup done numerous times and am always a little unsatisfied - whether it's the color of my foundation or my eyebrows, but I think that's the perfectionist in me. So, I didn't expect to be wowed by Carina. I was SO wowed! She did 4 of us in under 3 hours including touch-ups. I didn't get the sense that she was at all rushed while working on us. She's easy to talk to also so it doesn't get weird when she's in your face. The makeup looked great!! Throughout the night, we laughed, cried, got sweaty - and our makeup stayed in place! I have oily skin and I thought my makeup would melt off by the time the ceremony started but it didn't. The only negative is that the bride's lashes lifted half way through the reception. We just fixed it ourselves with some lash glue. I was so impressed that I recommended her to another bride getting married in Sept but Carina is already booked :( Anywho, bottom line: Carina is great. I recommend her to anyone! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Carina for my makeup lesson, engagement photos, boudoir photos as well as my wedding day! She is so much fun and she is so talented. My wedding day she was on time and all set up by the time we arrived. My bridesmaids and mother looked insanely beautiful like I couldn't even believe it.
