My very favourite indian! Having tried several in Woking…read more(and London) this is by far one of the best. You have to try it. If you like mild flavours, try Pasanda or Peshwari. If you like medium ones, Moysore and Dumpuk are amazing! The naan is good, the rice is good, the ambience lovely, with beautiful frescos on the walls and soft spotlights above each table creating a unique atmosphere. And the service is consistently good! I've been here on a date, with colleagues, with friends, and we all keep coming back. It's by far one of the best indian restaurants I have been to, and I would recommend you stop by as well. They do take-away and delivery (take-away saves you 10%) and are a great place to get food from on a lazy weekday evening if you'd rather stay in with a movie.

Despite the restaurant being empty, which on its own should have been a warning sign, it took the indolent and unsmiling waiters more than 20 minutes to take the order and another 30 minutes to bring the first course. That wouldn't have been so bad if it had been worth the wait but this was some of the laziest thrown together Indian food I have ever eaten and bore zero resemblance to the same dishes I ate in India. Sloppily plated, tasteless and poorly cooked without an ounce of passion. An absolute failure in every way!

That said the place is blighted by shifty looking waiters and an intemperate chef. Wycombe has had an influx in volume of Indian Restaraunts in recent years. We had previously visited Kohi-noor a couple of times which proved disappointing, we're really pleased to have found this one. If in doubt, choose this one! The service is friendly and attentive. We had geniune conversation with the waiters. The food was excellent, using quality meat. The food hygiene standards are very high, with a 'scores on the doors' from Environmental Health at 4*. Prices are always a bit more expensive in Indian restaurants, but this was very good value for the food and service we received. Strongly recommend this place to anyone. It's not the nicest architecture in the square, but you soon forget that when you visit. Good food, great service, good attention to detail, good prices, discrete music, nice atmopshere - what more could you want?!

This being my first time in an Indian restaurant, and having heard some distasteful rumours regarding Indian restaurants, I have to say Papaya really does raise the standards. Ordered the Malu Miris for starters, and had 3 Main courses of the Deviled Chicken (Spicy), Aubergines (Medium) and Fish Curry (Medium) plus Rotti and Paratha. The waitress advised not to go for spicy as it might be too hot but being a chilli addict, I wasn't too afraid and in the end, the Devilled Chicken was very impressive, not too spicy and had a nice garlic taste to it. The fish curry was very nice and a reasonably generous amount of fish. Aubergine curry apparently wasn't as good as what my companion had last time but for me it was still quite delicious. The let down for my companion was the Malu Miris which was to be honest, quite hard and might be slightly overfried but for me it was ok, not perfect. The price for both without drinks was £24 (not including tips) so it wasn't too bad though portions for the curries could be slightly more, though would definitely recommend the Devilled Chicken and will probably go back again. A homey little hole in the wall that builds on the fact that you're in small-village suburbia, Panahar Tandoori is staffed with attentive and very friendly servers there to tend to any basic need. While the decor is a bit dated and seating more limited than otherwise, that's essentially what I look for when I'm outside the city. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Not unlike most other Indian spots in the country, PT is generous with regard to portions, and this is extrapolated if you're fortunate enough to stop by come lunch for the all you can eat buffet. For my dinner visit, 10GBP got me a generous portion of Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilaf Rice. Have a look: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1qS6Y_HCJcuyxtnWxnUqvw&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg Fair. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Very, very good. I've become more and more of a critic with Indian cuisine as I've frequented it more often, and this is certainly in the upper half of dishes that I've had. The chicken was flavorful with a nice, thick sauce that complemented the unique Pilaf Rice nicely. From there, excellent naan complimented the meal, and I was very pleased with the whole setup. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? To be honest, this is essentially your only option if you're craving Indian in or around Cobham, but it's good enough to where I'd come everyday given the craving. Star Granted.

Used to be mediocre but picking back up again. Friendly staff, very authentic, - cozy, dimmed atmosphere. Fun spotting celebrities every now and then. HIGHLY recommend the buttered chicken tikka masala or the chicken vindaloo (if you want to spice things up), with garlic naan and a large Kingfisher. Space is probably the biggest issue. Not very much leg room, a mission to get to the loo and one can always hear the old Irish couple's conversation on the other side of the restaurant. Service can be hit or miss and unfortunately the soda is always served flat. However, fantastic place to go for a Friday evening date or for the Sunday buffet with the family. ....mmmm.... papadoms....

The flavours are spot on, proper depth and balance rather than just heat, and you can tell the food is cooked fresh and with care. Service was smooth and easy, no issues at all, and everything arrived hot and well put together. It doesn't feel rushed but the dishes are carefully balanced to maximise flavour. There's a level of quality to the food that stands out straight away. What I liked as well is they've clearly tried a few interesting twists on some dishes, and it actually works. Nothing feels gimmicky, just well thought through and executed properly. If you're after authentic Indian food with real flavour, this is easily one of the better spots around. I'll definitely be ordering again.

Crispy butter-ey bun with a well seasoned filling topped with a lovely chutney. One of the best vada pavs I've had. I would admit that I am a chilli paneer snob, and this chilli paneer is one I would definitely go back for. A little on the spicy side, but it does have the word "chilli" in the name. I would've liked the paneer cubes to be cut into smaller pieces. The one thing I wasn't impressed with the meal was the butter chicken. I found that the portion was way too small for as a main dish. The flavour was okayish. The garlic and chilli naan was good, a little on the crispy side. The chai is spicy and warm, in a good way. The service: Unfortunately, the service is what lets this place down. The staff are not welcoming or attentive, but I guess I am used to this kind of service in Southall. However, there is one gentleman here who was great, I believe he is one of the owners. He was personable and humorous. I would've knocked two stars off if it wasn't for this guy. The place: The restaurant has definitely been renovated since the last Yelp photos that have been posted! The wall decor is cool and modern. Tables and cutlery seemed clean, especially for Southall standards. Will be returning when I'm feeling peckish after a Southall shopping spree!

Moti had some guys out front cooking up fried items, but it did seem they had a decent indoor area as well, and I felt like having a sit-down lunch. Inside, there's a giant counter filled with Indian sweets, and a dining area with seating for 30+ (and I would find out - an additional upstairs area with even more seats). The scene is very casual... no tablecloths nor ornate settings. I walked up to the counter and ordered. The owner(?) was super friendly and jovial, proclaiming the authenticity of his Punjab food. I knew exactly what I wanted, chicken curry (6.50), and was invited to sit. I did look over the rest of the menu and it was giant... everything from 3.00 tikka rolls to about 100 other dishes, with only a few over 10.00. There was a constant stream of locals, mostly families, enjoying the fare. My curry arrived and it was a nice sized portion and bursting with flavor. Not greasy and not thin. In fact, the sauce was hearty and the chicken nicely cooked. It also was hotly spiced, but not overwhelming. Thankfully they had delivered a pitcher of water to help wash things down. That reminds me... I don't think they sell booze and don't know their policy about BYO. Overall, even though it's a no-frills place, I liked the staff and the food. It's not a place for a formal/special meal, but it works just fine if you want some good Indian grub nicely priced.

Mains of Chicken Dhaniya Adhraki (with ginger) and a Vegetable Biryani were both good and the portions frankly huge, so we opted to have a doggy bag. On our second visit, we tried the Onion Bhaji and a Vegetable Dhansak, with mushroom pilau rice and a large "house" naan bread. Again, portions were large but the dishes were still well cooked, and we enjoyed the fact the dishes were not too fatty, which we have found in some Indian restaurants. Service was efficient and the food came quickly, and was much friendlier on our recent visit (hence another star).
