Where do I even start. Sat down at the table the vibe of the place is definitely lit.... everyone was having a great time. Both Djs had the place rockin. Ordered a soda, rum punch and calamari and mussels to start. Hour later still not even the drinks on the table. A rum punch and soda shouldn't take an hour. Had 4 different people tell me they are bringing the drinks immediately and still 15 mins before the soda and rum punch arrived. The appetizers actually made it to the table a little before the drinks did. Finally after over an hour and half with no food our appetites were gone and only frustration remained. This was not how we pictured our valentines day. This place has potential but the service and the kitchen definitely needs major work. It almost felt like a bunch of people who had no clue what they were doing when it comes to food service. I had such a great experience with them today. The waitress and staff were very tentative and the food was amazing. I have zero complaints. The restaurant in itself is beautiful. I peeped the kitchen and I'm impressed. It's so clean! I know who really gets to see the kitchen of where they eat right? It's right I front behind the bar and it was immaculate. Alright. Let me start by saying, any negative comment I have about this place was apologized for and they did try to make up for their mistake First of all. The food was amazing. Five star food all the way. Sadly 1 star service The jerk chicken was well seasoned to the bone and tender. The check came as a half chicken which included the breast. Ive actually never had breast included with jerk chicken. Its usually leg and thigh. It was well cooked and a pleasant surprise. I should also say that it wasnt to spicy. I also had the oxtail. Very good. Tender. Also very well seasoned with a subtle sweetness. I wish i had more but oxtails are almost always served in smaller portions. The dishes were served with the drippings from the meat to use as "gravy" for the rice and cabbage. Awesome idea!!! Rice and cabbage were both really good. I was seated right away as the dining room was empty. Sadly no one made an attempt to speak to me for about twenty minutes. Yes it took the wait staff 20 minutes to come take my order in an empty restaurant (I went for lunch) I timed it specifically for my yelp review. Visiting Ny and found this quaint little place in the Bronx. Enjoyed my dining experience here. I removed a star only because of the wait times and the restroom didn't have any running water in the sink or toilet paper. He tells me "oh your drinks should be out soon and I'll bring you a regular menu" HE NEVER TOOK OUR DRINK ORDER!!!! I asked him "what drinks? We haven't ordered yet but I'd like to order one" he walks away and never returned. We sit there for about 10 more minutes and we see them sit a group at the table next to us and he immediately takes their order. That was my cue to leave. We left without getting a drink or food. I went to Flavas for their $2 taco Tuesdays, and I was very disappointed by their service. I went around 5pm so it wasn't busy. There were two women and one man sitting down when we got there. The host gave us a menu and that was it. A group of two guys and a female walked in and they were immediately seated. The hostess came back and gave us a pitcher with no glasses. The group who came after us already ordered and got their drinks and we still werent served. They had atleast 10 people apart of the staff and they were all standing around eating. 15 min passed and more people came to sit at the table with the two guys and the girls and the waiter automatically took their order. One of the waitresses looked me in the eye and still did not come help us. We got up and left and the hostess tried to talk to us telling us it wasn't her job to serve us. Moral of the story Flavas has bad customer service. Their staff is lazy and rude. Everyone says it. That's why people hardly go there anymore.
