Years ago, we had a wonderful experience with Divorce Resolutions and my review is STILL the number…read moreone review. I've also been recommending quite a number of people there. I can't anymore. My ex-husband and I had a question about the Settlement documents that one of Divorce Resolutions mediators, Larry King, had prepared for us. We wanted clarity on this document, something that would have taken about 5-10 minutes. I assumed it was a stock form. I called and the woman I spoke to on the phone, Angie Valenzuela, had a rather haughty tone and seemed rather annoyed that I asked her a question about a previous moderator. Given the great experience I had previously and the fact that their job is to mediate, I was really shocked at her incredulous tone. Follow up email exchanges seemed to verify that. It's not worth going into detail, but she made clear that they purchased the moderator's business and that they were going to complete disassociate themselves from his work, both the good and the bad. Well, that means that I can't recommend them anymore. Unfortunately, I can't remove my review, so I am forced to leave a negative one instead. It's a shame that they're not carrying on the good tradition of Larry King's excellent service.

I highly recommend Larry King for divorce mediation. He and his assistant Val were kind, easy to…read morework with, and professional throughout the process. We were able to formulate a separation agreement within 2 or 3 appointments, even with somewhat complex issues (rental properties, PERA retirement, IRA's, etc.), and we were given the documents and tools to easily file with the court. Bonus - The cost savings over hiring an attorney (or two) was huge!

I have had the pleasure of observing Suzanne Walter mediate a number of divorce-related disputes…read more She always brings balance and fairness to her work. With decades of experience in this domain along with training and practice as a counselor, she understands, at a deep level, the emotional challenges that parents and children face when a family is no longer intact. She puts children at the center of her mediation, even though they are not actually at the table. The knowledge she brings to the mediation process makes for highly effective sessions. And, the agreements she helps people reach are fair to all of the parties. I highly recommend her if you need this type of support.

My former spouse and I used Ms. Walter's mediation services to draw what became our "Memorandum of…read moreUnderstanding" (MOU) that was submitted and accepted by the Boulder Court system. 30 months later the terms of that agreement came into question and I had to submit a Contempt of Court filing to have the most simple of terms from that MOU enforced. The magistrate rejected my claim stating that the MOU was not clear. I now find myself thousands of dollars into attorney fees to enforce what is clear to you and I but not to the court system. In other words, Ms. Walter's drawn agreement was legal garbage. Two of my own attorney's, a new mediator (read: objective party) and my former spouse's attorney all agree with that statement. It should be noted my former spouse and I agree on nothing else. Look elsewhere for a mediator. Ms. Walter couldn't possibly have caused me more stress, not to mention significant expense.

Then the second meeting completely forgot? that he suggested this and recommended we do the exact opposite. He seemed upset with me that I even suggested such a thing (that was his idea). We started working with the firm in October (8 months ago), and we only finally got booked for our financial mediation this week, after I asked multiple times about getting this scheduled. Not only was he not prepared for the meeting, he and his team had multiple missing numbers and incorrect data. He also kept making mistakes in the financial mediation that would have STRONGLY favored my husband, and if I didn't have my own legal counsel, I could have been absolutely screwed. When I emailed him yesterday saying we would be switching mediators, he wrote back saying he thought it was a bad fit from the start. "The start" was 8 months ago. So he thought it was a bad fit, but he wanted our money anyway and only told us this after we fired him? Please hire if you're looking for a greedy, mendacious, inept misogynist.
