I am so grateful to have found and been accepted as a client by this firm! I needed a divorce from…read morea volatile and unpredictable person. Jim and Diana kept everything very professional and as calm as possible. Even from our first interview Jim was concerned with my safety, he spent his own time going over safety practices with me. Throughout the process Jim kept me current with all events. He prepared me and my case for the worst scenario to get the best results, should that happen. He explained the laws that were applicable and how a judge would view my case. Luckily the other party was a final no-show and we got a best scenario result. Regarding fees and billing, Jim and Diana kept very accurate accounting of time and effort spent on my behalf and all were included in my billing statements. I really expected the costs to be higher and was worrying about how I was going to afford them. Due to their efficiency the costs were more than reasonable and I am able to budget them in. I disagree with a previous reviewer who says Jim is only after $$$'s, Jim does his business to help people and asks only to paid commensurately . He is honest and up front about his fees and intentions. I know that he spent unpaid time on the phone and in person with me. If I could I would rate this firm 10 stars out of 5!!

Yikes. My ex and I had selected this person to…read moremediate/arbitrate a real estate issue after our divorce. During our meeting, he spent all of 3 minutes trying to get both parties to mediate (where he assists us to create a working solution) and was quite anxious to get right to arbitrating. Arbitration is where he just makes the rules and we are ordered to follow. He sent us both home with information to gather and present to him. He would use it to make a decision. He failed to explain exactly what all he'd be ruling on and was very vague about his process. 2 months later, he finally wrote the orders which over reached what we actually came in for. After he made those orders, he became unavailable and refused to explain any of his decisions. The rules that he created removed any decision making we originally had during the sales process of house selling. His orders demanded that we list our house on Christmas Day - how bizarre listing a property at the worst time of the year to sell a house. Along with several other odd rules, he removed our ability to counter any offer we received. As it stood, we got a low ball offer and we were forced to accept it without any counters. We were also forced to give the buyer money for improvements. We lost so much money following his orders. My ex and I were completely sick about it. We had to pre pay the entire amount of arbitrating, and wouldn't you know it - even though we only saw him once for a short time, he went through all of that money and billed us for more money after he delivered his orders to us. It's hard to believe he actually spent more than a few minutes coming up with his uninformed orders. This guy is a non existent mediator. His communication skills are pitiful. He is one of those jack a$$es who gets off playing God in his own little world. And is clearly not qualified to do anything when it comes to real estate. There are so many people willing to make money off of the unfortunate break up of families out there. Odds are, you have enough personality conflicts in your life than to have to deal with a bad communicator with some kind of power issues. You would be much better of passing this one up.

Would highly recommend this firm.

Horrific experience with John Hoelle. He gaslit me after the first session when he recommended my…read morehusband and I file for divorce first thing--though that isn't the typical path--because of housing timelines. Then the second meeting completely forgot? that he suggested this and recommended we do the exact opposite. He seemed upset with me that I even suggested such a thing (that was his idea). We started working with the firm in October (8 months ago), and we only finally got booked for our financial mediation this week, after I asked multiple times about getting this scheduled. Not only was he not prepared for the meeting, he and his team had multiple missing numbers and incorrect data. He also kept making mistakes in the financial mediation that would have STRONGLY favored my husband, and if I didn't have my own legal counsel, I could have been absolutely screwed. When I emailed him yesterday saying we would be switching mediators, he wrote back saying he thought it was a bad fit from the start. "The start" was 8 months ago. So he thought it was a bad fit, but he wanted our money anyway and only told us this after we fired him? Please hire if you're looking for a greedy, mendacious, inept misogynist.
